Patch Files (Direct Download)
To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - TBD

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

It's an offtop, but still. Is it true that next week or immediately after Gamescon, we are waiting for big news, a new video with gameplay for MW5: Clans? I can't wait anymore :) .

Stone Rhino

SR-1, SR-2, SR-6, SR-K and SR-AK:

  • Reduced LA, LT, CT, RT, RA Armor bonus to +13 (from +20)
  • Reduced LL, RL armor bonus to +10 (from +15)
Im against this nerfs, Stone Rhino has so bad hitboxes ( because the whole mech is so big) that already challenging to play.
The Fafnir and Bullshark why dont have armorquirk nerfs?
They have overall better quirks and the much better IS skilltree, then nerf these too!
Especialy the Fafnir need some nerf , TTB always play with his Chadoken on Youtube and Twitch.
You made them better in the previous patch giving -15% heat quirk for no reason because the Fafnirs already have the -10% heatquirk.
Now you can play the Fafnir with 4 snubnose and 2 AC20 with only 12 heatsinks very easy with these ridicoulos quirks.
Nerf the Fafnirs to -5% heat and reduce the LT,CT,RT to +15 armor and then you can nerf the Stone Rhinos too.

...no, the weapons can explode upon destruction, like all gauss, but unlike most, one has to be up close and personal in order to use them, that's quite a gamble, and a suitable trade off. my goodness, learn team play (communicate, call target, support each other) instead of asking for nerfs, every time you start seeing too much of a weapon or mech.

So PGI fixed the hit registration while jump jetting apparently ? Seeing how the majority of players use this technique due to the glitch of PGI programming. I will go with a big fat NO on them fixing anything. So these "flying" mechs will be a huge money grab for them seeing how many people will buy them solely because of the glitch of hit registration while in the air. Great job guys ! way to expedite the end of this old game.

What are the quirks? How come you never list the quirks for the legendaries in the patch and on the store page? Quirks are one of the biggest selling points yet you never list them. Why?

It’s not a glitch nor is it hitreg, to be exact. Specifically what it is, is some mechs have overly exaggerated JJ animations. Because hitboxes follow these animations it becomes harder to hit specific components or even mechs if the animation is big enough. Again this is specifically when one is continually activating/spamming JJ.

The Legends are made for sustained or hovering flight which negates the spamming. Additionally I don’t think the PXH and Champion have bad animations so that’s less of an issue.

If event queue has taught us anything it’s that incursion is best played with drop decks. Remember, it was fully removed from the game prior to the EQ experiments. Furthermore, when people started stealth base rushing we switched the tech to Clan only (ECM but at least no stealth) and the maps to wider open ones with less base cover. Rubellite and Tourmaline to be exact.
This way there still plenty of shooting robots but also plenty of tactical decisions making with respawns and base damage.

Wtf with the nerfs to the Adder-W and the Stone Rhino? Once again Clan mechs. I'm done buying stuff for MWO. Tired of these no life neck bearded comp losers who need to find another game to master telling PGI what to do.

When will the arm be fixed in the STK-WU? It is weird to have a RAC installed, but AC is displayed.

idk how we got commando love but ill take it!!
the 30 laser dur is the whole reason i was running the tdk, you might have made me swap to the ct mounts and masc with this, but there are still trade offs with eng size and armor bonuses and range.
confused by the extra coolshot buffs. heat on tdk doesnt seem to be an issue unless running 4mxpls. might have to try that again, coolshot adds like 2 seconds firing time. the info gathering is helpful and interesting.
2d could use the extra 4amor on the laser arm to go with the new laser cooldown possibilities, and to match the missel arm. idk bout the 1d still
will have to retry all varients. good stuff.
and raven buffs!

I guess few things need to be cleared up regarding upcoming legendary mechs and partial wing equipment .
  • Partial wings (Locked equipment) weighs 2.5 tons and takes up 3 slots in each side torso.
  • Partial wings can be destroyed (like regular Jump jets ) , if both are destroyed you should lose the flight ability , much like it would happen with regular Jump Jets if they got destroyed . It can be partially destroyed as well. They do have HP of 10,000 .
  • They generate substantially smaller amount of heat when compared to normal jump jets.
  • They are not boltons but are part of mech geometry , which means that they do have a hitbox that corresponds to specific components.
  • No Jump Jet shake is a feature of all ( potential ) future partial wing mechs.
  • They benefit a lot from burn time duration quirks since it already extends their fairly long JJ duration by multiple seconds since its a percentage based quirk.
  • Partial wings being locked equipment allows Cauldron to tweak all of their individual stats without affecting anything else in game . So altitude gain , total duration , jump jet heat generation can all be tweaked and adjuster to whatever is found to be optimal. ( some of these values might be changed in the future )
  • SPEEDOMETER IN MWO LIES WHILE YOU ARE IN AIR , yes speed that is displayed while you are in air is incorrect . Your flight speed in the air is equal to the flight speed you started jumping at for about 10 seconds before a different flight mechanic takes over.(Because of this there was no need to add any vectoring.)
You may ask what can you potentially do with this ? well :
  • You gain the ability to cross wide distances or jump from platform to platform / building to building that are 500+ m apart. Without ever touching the ground below you.
  • You can hover and shoot from weird angles while using no JJ shake mechanic to poptart or DPS down the enemy until you are noticed , fall down and reposition. ECM will help a lot with that.
  • Basically Infinite JJ ground feathering ( mechs taping space on the ground to make themselves harder to hit ) .
  • Turn around mid air to the opposite direction , shooting stuff behind your while inheriting your forward speed ground momentum , then turn around and continue running in whatever direction you want .
  • Lift speed nodes might give it a nice hop/poptart ability , unsure how this will play out so I need to test it once its released. It also has the best heat efficiency out of all jump jets but it will still benefit from JJ heat nodes so be sure to grab them.
  • Both mechs have 50% fall damage reduction quirked and when combined with the same quirk in the skill tree you can get 100% fall damage reduction meaning you are completely immune to fall damage regardless of the height from which you fall.

Not being rude by no means , but how to you know this exactly ? Its been well documented over the years about this issue. Either way its a exploit that they never seem to care enough about to fix or lack of knowledge to fix. These new legendarys , until proven in game play , i have no choice to believe that they will react the same way.
