What does "TBR-H Reduced ATM range to 60% from 80%" mean?

If I'm reading this correctly you are cutting the range of ATMs, on the TBR-H specifically, to 60% of their as sold range. I don't get the specificity. TBR-H cannot have ATM's with range? It doesn't have to be a short range mech.

No they are cutting down the bonus range you get ontop of the default range of the weapon.

You missed the part where they are increasing the damage ranges for the ATM as well. they are only cutting it 20% down you can get most of that back from the skill tree. (so you'll be up to 75% range instead of 80% with the full range skills in the tree)

Currently Atm range brackets are

2.5 60-245
2 245-500
1.6 550-1100

the new values will be

2.5 60-300
2 350-600
1.6 650-1100

I'm not sure if range quirks effect the range brackets, i think they do ,but somebody better in math would have to calculate those with the range quirk.

Again the 80% range was a bonus to the range already on ATM launchers, Range quirks are bonuses not direct changes..

just because it says energy range +5% does not mean your lasers and ppcs suddenly have 5% range no it's an additional 5 percent range. Quirks are additive.

No, you got that wrong. It just means that the bonus range quirk is not going to be +80%, but only +60%. This is not the reduction of the default range, just the reduction of that extra bonus.

The brackets all expand with increased range - if you add 500m through quirks, you'll still have the same proportion that total range in each damage bracket. I believe this also applies to minimum ranges; I saw a conversation about that when I was getting back into the game, but I don't recall if anyone with a definitive answer weighed in. Should be easy to test, or we could ask on the Cauldron Discord.

I think it "use" to increase minimum ranges as well, but was later fixed as that wasn't intended... But I'm not overly certain about this answer either. Testing likely would be the only way to tell for sure.
