I would buy a trackIR just for Mechwarrior if support was included :)

3rd. (4thd?)

Even if it doesn't make the initial release. TrackIR adds alot of atmosphere to flight sims like IL2, and Rise of Flight. ARMA2 uses it as well and it's very immersive.

It'd be great if they would consider implementing it.

No other piece of (affordable) hardware would make this game better than a TrackIR.

I don't have one now, but I've seen what it can do, and if MW:O announced official support for it, I would buy one the same day.

I have one, it's pretty freaking cool. I'd love to be able to use it for POV.

Can I add to that some form of Kinect head tracking.

All respect to TrackIR, however I think that this is older tech which will be superseded in the future. No harm in keeping the eye on re new ball as well as the old ball.

+1 for head tracking. You can track your head with just a webcam nowadays so there is little reason to not have it!

I own TrackIR and it really is the best, most immersive thing to have for any game where you're in a cockpit. Ever since I started using it I actually try to avoid driving/flying games that don't support it. Even limited TrackIR support would make this game a lot more enjoyable.

Yeah, there are several free/inexpensive alternatives to TrackIR that give the same effect. It would really be awesome to have support for it and be able to look around your environment without having to use a mouse or hat switch or whatever.

http://www.free-track.net/english/

check this out!
it actually works quite well, considering you have a decent webcam, it only tracks one to four LEDs, which seems to be quite efficient. It probably can't keep up with Track IR, but WTH, it's fre! And those LEDs cost like 0.15€ a piece, and it works perfectly fine...

Anyways, I'd really love to get support for that kind of software. I just hope they don't play into the hands of NaturalPoint and using their encrypted software which only purpose it is to render free headtracking-software useless.
I hope this is going to be taken into account, because, I'm unwilling to buy a 150$ piece of equipment I can only use on three games I own.
I know there are ways to get around that encryption, but I find it kinda stupid to have to resort to such measures, because a certain company doesn't like being competative...

back to the original topic tho; Yes! Do want!!!

Absolutely!

TrackIR support (as well as support for the other head-tracking APIs) would be amazing!

It would change my opinion of this game from "something to keep my eye on" to "something to definitely have a go at".

I do support this! When I think of that Warhammer cockpit from the 2009 trailer - it would be so great to look around in it with my TIR - even it's not interactive

Without a doubt, this is a must include! Obviously becomes limited depending on the Mech cockpit shape, but my vote is definitely there on this one!

There's also this, which is free and doesn't require LED's. Anyway, as long as we get something, I'll be happy.

I've been using freetackNOir successfully in flight sims. It is accurate and works no need for any lights and runs off my $20 web cam that i already had!

Another vote for Trackir. Any virtual cockpit benefits from it immensely.
