Is there a good place to read up on how clans will work in the game, or even why they use a different set of tech?

I would consider it a jackpot if there were audiobooks I could listen to of the stories this lore is based on.

Three audio books on audible. Abridged but still decent. Jade falcon trilogy is best book.

I'm disappointed that there are options to select other Clans than Jade Falcon. Oh well, someone has to play the losing side after all.

I refuse to vote in that insult for the most of the clan believers!!!! First most of the clan players are not associated with the Clans because of the great "stuff" they are here because they belive in the Clan Way !!!! Second there is other clans exept the mentioned in your poll and Final because we are "SCUM" we don't need to break zellbrigen ,you will do it for us and then you shall see the **** over your head IS BARBARIAN !!!!

There's a part of me that really wants to say I'd be able to abide by clan tactics and standards, but then there's this other part of me that just knows I'm going to throw that one-on-one **** out the window as soon as a jenner starts plinking at my rear armor. The whole "honorable warrior" thing is really attractive on paper, but I just can't see people pulling it off. I mean, I'd love to hop in a TimberWolf (God help me for loving the most over-used mech in existence btw) and stomp around with my ER Lasers, but if it meant having to learn a whole new combat style...I'll just wait until I get lucky enough to salvage one.

I played the tabletop games, and loved the video games when they came about. It was laggy and the tech at the time made it problematic, but I still loved playing multiplayer online. I ended up joining Clan Wolf, and loved it. Overtime, I raised to the position of Star Colonel. I've long since lost my source books but the memories are still there. If it were a possibility, I'd join back up. If not, I'll still enjoy the clans as an addition to the game.

I'd probably tinker withthe Clan side, but not do much with it. As for which one, I wouldn't touch one of the invading or reserve Clans with a ten foot pole. Only one I'd consider playing would be Burrock, becuase I'd tell the Star Adders where to shove their Absorption in '57.

Going with Sea Fox/Diamond Shark if the Clan restrictions are reasonable.
Interesting Clan, need to read up more on Zellbrigen.

I'm keeping my Commando at the least if I join, need to start somewhere.

I said yes, but I would not join any of the invading Clans, but instead go with the Snow Ravens. Aside from the cool name, they control interplanetary travel (a binary of McKenna class WarShips says you do not leave the planet, you do not leave the planet) and have that combination of smarts (got the Jade Falcons to give them loads of minerals in exchange for a binary of WarShips, Khan Stephen McKenna bidding on naval assets instead of Mechs, Khan Ewan McCorkell's trading of old Mechs to the Blood Spirits for ships knowing that being the taxi service would be more useful than trying to be an Invading Clan), absolute unwillingness to die (the Not-Named Clan nuked the genetic repository, aforementioned bidding for naval assets), and just plain ******* crazy (Khan Liam Howell unleashing the diamond sharks on Clan Sea Fox's totem animal) that is needed to get ahead in the world.

As for zellbrigen, it is a tool to avoid waste, as is a targeting computer for the headshot (why ruin a perfectly good Mech by shooting it up with a single headshot with an ER PPC works just as well?). So I would follow it as long as it was in my interest to do so.

I'll be going Clan when I can, but don't have much interest in the RP-heavy stuff. It's mostly because the people I'd be playing with most likely will too. That and clans are just Better.

Zellbrigen? Hah, why would I go easy on people?

I doubt with that attitude you will be accepted in any of the Clans !!!!!
