Come on guys. Listen to Aegis! Nobody is going to play the game if we don't have mechs like the Uziel on launch! Everyone must have access to their favorite mech immediately or they'll quit!

I listen to Aegis, but I disagree with this statement. You cannot demand from and threaten the developers. I want a game with 'Mechs, and involved combat. I am patient enough to wait for the Uziel to come out later.

You're right, there really needs to be a sarcasm font.

It should be included, but not at release as it isnt time line appropriate.

Starslayer fits the Uziel's capabilities nicely.

Voted No.
Redundant mechs outside of timeline!

maybe Uziel is ugly mech, but urban isnt even that, its ugly r2d2 :)

I think Uziel is one of best looking mechs out there, maybe someone might not like it becose its newschool mech not like these that date back to 80s,but I like it,it certainly stand out as inner sphere design

As much as I love the Uziel it doesn't make sense in cannon. I'd also love to have a Hauptmann but thats post clan invasion so... we'll just have to wait and see. I'm interested to see just how far we get in the timeline, they are doing it in real time right? Or is that just leading up to launch?

The issue really isn't one of whether the 'Mech should be included, it should, as should ALL 'Mechs eventually. However it's a matter of resources and timing, as it is neither within the scope of work for the developers for its inclusion and may never be given the workload and whether it'll be worth adding (along with a whole bunch of other 'Mechs), and neither is it currently in the timeline of the game.

But yes, include it - when the timeline has sufficiently passed, and when the devs can resource people to add 'Mechs.

Ah I see. I think you are misinterpreting people saying it doesn't make sense in timeline, for people saying that its ugly or doesn't fit in battletech. I think most people would agree the Uziel is a pretty cool mech. However, in the history of battletech, it didn't come out until 3067, like 17/18 years from right now in the timeline. People aren't insulting it, they are just saying it would be like playing with a mech from the future.

I absoultely love the Uziel, as I do some of the other MW4 'mechs - they were the best designs, artistically, to enter the BattleTech canon in years. The Argus and Chimera are my other favorites.

That said, I don't think it should be included in MWO unless there is a huge time jump down the line in an expansion. At release, no. Hell, you could make it an end-game content piece if the game is going strong a couple years down the road as a prototype model, but again, not at release (and sadly probably never).

So yeah. I love the Uziel; it's looks, it's design, everything. But it's wrong for MWO right now.

Fortunately, we'll probably see the Bushwacker in the very first expansion. It's an overwhelmingly popular 'mech and it's not very far off - I'd guess they might add it right along with the Clans, even if it's a few months early in the timeline.

Yes, but... rare. They are mostly uncommon at this time and not widely available. Regarding MW2: it's a non-canon product. And if I remember that right, Large lasers had a range of 1000 m in it. So what MW 2 included or not, doesn't really matter. :)
Just to put it at an end: in the real world you didn't see a YF-15 or YF-16, whatever... on the battlefield before the tested and approved vehicle has been given to the troops. For that same reason it would be totally unlikely to see a mech before it's time on a battlefield.
If you really want one, be prepaired that weapons misfire (if they even fire at all) the mech shuts immediately down pushing the veto-button or being ejected when changing radar range. Just remember how many F-16 pilots have been killed before they got behind that problem with it's electronics!
Uziel, Yes, could be in-game, but not before it's time. Which is the FedCom Civil War Era!

not true

prototypes were often sent up to the front lines during war before the 'big order' was placed

off the top of my head, I can think of the YB40 an 'escort' B-17 http://en.wikipedia....Flying_Fortress

That being said. Uziel. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Sure, I'd like for them to add the Uziel.

I'd be perfectly happy with them tossing strict adherence to the canon timeline out the window, too.

I love the Bushwacker and am really glad that it's actually not that far our in terms of game time. It's something that I'll actually be shocked about if it's not included in one of the first expansions.

Notably, I am willing to be more than accepting if a 'mech is introduced close to it's specific timeline, even if it's a year or two before. MPBT3025 used the the prototype excuse to have the Raven, so I can buy the Bushwacker at any point after the invasion for the same reasons.

EDIT: Did I really reply to the same message more or less a week after the first reply? I must be tired.

One exception doesn't make it a norm and also doesn't count as often!
Yap, that's a WWII plane. And? It's a modifikation of the B-17, not an entire new plane!
If you'd name a more modern vehicle build up from scratch it would make more sense!
Look at the poll result. More than 2/3 don't want it before it's time!
That's it. No Uziel! BOOOOOOOOOOOOO in reverse!
