From the depths of a cold cup of coffee, I rub my eyes at thee...

- removed the individual links for the Ask the Devs (it was overly ambious) and link to the sub forum (Garth we need short descriptions on all of them STAT)!

- added a discussion on DHS/Heat I thought was good (if alittle mathy).

- did a naughty thing and mapped the site (sorry!) so I have a better idea of how things are layed out (visually) thinking it will help the new post layout (that I keep putting off).

- also added a podcast section, since we are up to (technically) 3 now!

Good hula!

Welcome to the game!! Please realize that this game has a pretty steep learning curve as you go on.

First you need to download the game. You should have hopefully received an email with a link. There is also a big blue button in the top right corner of this website.

After you install the client, assuming you have not bought MC, you will have the option to use the Trial Mechs. In the main screen of the mech lab on the bottom right you should have the option to look at trial mechs. You can highlight one of those to play with.

Then in the upper right you have the launch button. Next to that you will have the option to select the game mode you would like to play in: Assault or Conquest. It is probably best to start with Assault to get your feet wet.

There is also the Training Grounds found on the MWO website which has an tutorial video and some other great info.

Added quite a few links, including Taryys Guide, the Training Grounds, and moved some stuff to an archived thread (hopefully the devs don't delete it) to make it a bit more TL:DR friendly (not much though).

I really like the layout on the wiki, if I had more room here I'd do something similar (oh well).

Hi, thanks for the game it is way fun. I play mostly RTS and FPS games, but this one will be at the top of my list, very comnplex. I hear it will get even more complex in the future, so you better start your mechs.

Hello.

I'm a complete noob to MWO, and I'm pretty much still learning how not to look like a complete klutz every time I join a match.

Hoping to improve my piloting skill soon after reading up on guides and discussions here in the forums, although in hindsight, I guess that should have been the first thing I did.

Oh yeah, I'm also a brony.

I'm also a relative newcomer to the Battletech universe - the last game I played was the freeware release of MW4. I used to play MW2 and the expansions and watched that godawful cartoon series on TV back when I was much younger.

The most 'mech combat experience I've had was SRW, Armored Core 3-5, Cosmic Break, and Gundam.

I'm brand spankin' new! My brother raves about this game and I am not a skilled gamer (more of a drinker) but I dropped a few bills on a gaming laptop and now I shall enjoy my incompetency with all the power my not-so-hard-earned money bought. One thought, it would be nice to have a training area to learn how to move. I'm sure watching me walk into a building and then fall off a cliff before being laid waste to is fun to watch, but there must be a better way to be introduced!

Howdy, I'm the new Kae, Since I see theres already one. I don't know if i'm vastly superior to my predecesor; probably not its been years and years since I even touched A mech.
Looking forward to Hopping into the closest thing I can get to a madcat.... looks like a catapult.... and raining death from afar.
