Not sure if this has been suggested in the 55 pages of this thread so far, but I'd pay for a pair of Dinosaurs and a palm tree as a cockpit decoration....

"Yes. Yes, this is a fertile land, and we will thrive. We will rule over all this land, and we will call it... This Land."
"I think we should call it your grave!"

:) :) :P

  • Downloadable 3D design resources (e.g. STL files, Blender, SketchUp or similar) of maps and/or mechs - since it would be rather cool to print them in 3D.
  • +1 for already mentioned items -
    • Single player campaign
    • Cooperative campaign
    • Aesthetics (customisation) - may as well provide it, easy money for those willing to pay (I won't buy them, but see no harm in others doing having a choice of decal/logo combinations, colours, etc). Strongly veto any "uploaded-image" approach *cringe*
  • Offline bot play
  • More support for pre-made groups (perhaps by only matching up with other pre-made groups?)
  • Micro-perks (sub 1% benefits) - i.e. minor toys, provided their benefits don't "stack". Again, not for me, but I see these as mostly harmless rewards for contributing to the game.
  • Micro-subscription fee (sub $4/month) - as long as there are servers physically located in Australia.
  • Minimalist t-shirt design by an artist (as opposed to an all-out megaphone t-shirt of billboard mentality designed by marketing)

Paying for the content such as decals and camo is fair enough! Also happy to use it to fork out for new mech bays too..

Be good to have optional DLC that you can operate outside of the game, could be some kind of app that allows you to review tactics on the map or even have a free roam to explore the maps etc..

a game that works

This.

When the physics gets fixed (lagshield gone, collisions done right, water that slows mechs, hills that slow mechs, turns that slow mechs), when the damages are brought back in line with at least the feel of TT and the setting (no spam LRMs, LRMs that hit in line w/TT numbers per launch, etc), no more nerfing of a game to use as a band-aid for a bigger problem, then I'll be on board.

Specific things after that's done?

Ways to shorten the grind. There are a lot of folks to whom time is precious, and grinding after you've figured out how to play is a chore. If you're playing because it's fun, it shouldn't be work. People don't leave the daily grind of their job to come home and grind at a game. Folks who work very hard, are at work for a long time, or who have other commitments in life, do not enjoy having to commit to a game to grind forever to enjoy it.

If there are mechs available that I want, and there's a C-bill boost so I can get them faster, I may pay for that (and I'm aware there is a C-bill boost available already). Once there are mechs I want (I realize there's a slow roll-out), I'll be willing to pay for more mech bay slots. Of course, if there are times when it's offered as a bonus or free, it's a much bigger incentive to play, and the more enjoyment I get, the more likely I am to put some money down. Also, discounts on some mechs may drive me to go after them quickly, and if I've got a couple days off, I may plunk down something for the C-bill boost so I can afford them during the sale.

Years ago playing games at the arcade, I'd put quarters into a machine if I was having fun, or walk away if I wasn't - it was a quick and easy decision. I can easily justify spending money on a game if I enjoy it. If I'm not enjoying it, I may play because my friends do (and because I've loved the TT game for decades now), but I won't be putting down money. Once the fixes are done, I'll be enjoying it a lot more, and that'll get me towards spending money.

its ok like it is.i would waste my MC for garage-slots only!
everything i can pay with c-bills ill pay with c-bills.
as legendary founder i paid alrdy(in general for CB and to support the project).im not interested to pay for cammo, cockpit fashion and stuff...but much ppl are for sure!

if i were new,...
if a f2p game can entertain me more than 4 weeks i feel ok with buying stuff for about 15$
the more time goes by with a game i spend more and more money to it cause it kept me playing it and entertained me a lot.
i think ppl will pay for everything so its not rly a question about what anyone rly needs.
as i saw in lol my mates bought everything what was buyable.quite everything.

for those who have no clue what im talking about, for example:
i bought daiblo 3 for about 75$? (60€) and it holds me 2 weeks playing it. --> my personal fail investment 2012
i played league of legends about 2 years and spent about 50$ in it --> epic win!
for me it depends on a simple formula to see if its worth or not.
hours i allrdy played + hours i will probably play this game so (t for time): t1+t2
money i need or want to pay for: m

m/(t1+t2) = m per hour

if any value turns out under 0,5 i am rdy to pay for it.

excuse my bad english,im german.

I'd probably pay for more "mech bay space" meaning I could "own" more than 1 battlemech at a time. Just like how other MMO's have character slots

i think they have this already..i have 5 bays

I would pay money for the following:

1. Custom computer voices. I would enjoy being able to change the voice of the computer to things such as Angry Scots, William Walace, or a few movie characters. This adds some special customization to specific mechs.

2. The ability to put my family colors onto my future Highlander, or other mechs. Nothing screams Scottish heritage more so than showing the family colors.

3. Skin alterations, like adding a mohawk, enhanced skull, or other special alterations to the mech to make it look more disturbing or funny. I would enjoy making my mech look like a Scottish warrior.

4. The ability to have external speakers on my mech to play music outside of the cockpit, sort of like psychological warfare. The ability to turn it on or off would be interesting, so that you could sneak up on someone and freak them out by suddenly playing music as the missle barrage hits. :-)

BeTS SET OF SUGGESTIONS YET Also make shure you include Lieth in the Tartan choices so i can get mine!

I think a "mech lounge" would be great a place we could all IM on a chat board live would be AwSoMe ...pun intended..

Quote>
* Special ammo that does extra damage to founders-mechs.

lol definetly LMAO

But seriosly it seems custimization on the mech skin and cocpit "toys" seems popular
I would definetly pay to put my family tartan on my skin and to blast zepplin...also to have to buy an ANTI-RAP upgrade to block rap music ..like AMS That would be the shizzle.....Theft of term intended...

The original//win 3.1 game was called battle drome...a smalll enclosed match space with a few shapes to hide move around . it would be cool to have a grudege mach or 1 to 1 title fights.
the real greif of this game is getting ganged up on a grudge mach to all the gang bangers one on one would make a pilot feel beter and egos would be apeased ...

Also in BF2 there was a program sold--actuly was free but you could sell it- that gave you a maps and a chat board and the ability to put marks and writing live on the map ...so you could plan a strategy for match games... i think it was called battle planner..
that also would be a cool upgrade to buy .. groups join then log in together and make a plan... then save the map for anyone who missed the meeting..

This may never happen but after reading about the Highlander and their propencity to play bagpipe music over enemy coms......I would pay to mount speakers on the outside of my mech that played music of my choice to the world while I played hehe.

This is a recap of things I have read and posted before +1 more I just thought of
  • New: Ability to Host private matches and set up teams in those private matches. I would love this to play with friends and be able to blow them up -_-
  • New: Mech Bay that made whatever mech in it gain extra CBills when that mech was played.
  • +1: Coop Missions and Campaign (2x-8x players verses environment either in missions or/and story Campaign)
  • +1: Single Player Missions/Campaigns verses environment.
  • +1: Custom Mech - Hard point swap from energy to ballistic or missile.
  • +1: Custom Mech - hard point location change from one location to another on the mech.
Cosmetic things like skins for your mech that have no effect on game play are fine, but I will not be buying them. I do suggest you make them available as many people will pay for them, but I cant +1 that because I would never purchase them.

<Edited to add the Mech Bay idea>

I would be down to pay around $75 ultimately for the right accessories if they just lowered the price of mechs. Paying $50 for 3 mechs just doesn't appeal to a broke college kid like me. Wayyy out of my price range. Also, I totally would have just bought a founder's package if I had any idea how ridiculously disadvantaged the free-riders are.

Personally I'd like to be able to buy scenario's where you play iconic battles. However the mechs are set and you drop into a random mech from the battle.

Win and they give bonus cbills for the prizes or you can win cockpit decorations, skins or decals.

I would PAY (in an instant) for an iPad app that would let me use the mech lab to buy and configure mechs. Not to play the game, mind you. Just for the mech lab alone. That would free up more gaming time, by a large amount. Plus, it would probably lead to impulse MC purchases.

More mechs. Plain and simple. I'd buy an Argus the second it came off the line.
Skin Decals for sure.
Different HUD displays.
I'd even buy a cool voice to say "Damage critical," "target acquired," "target destroyed" etc.
