I'd pay for when my mech passes a "Mr. Donut", the donut ring sign get's caught on my mech's PPC, stays there for the duration of the battle, barring being knocked down or obviously destroyed, and then once back in the mech bay, seeing the technicians pulling the donut ring off with puzzled looks on their faces...

This would be EPIC!

...Although how much contextual stuff could our mechs ever snag? Vines in a rainforest? Random signs in a city?

Would be very cool though to see a PPC hole in the mech while in the mechlab, and a tech in the background yelling "I just patched that yesterday!"

Also, in regards to:

Seriously? C-bills buy you better gear; more armor, weight-saving upgrades, AMS, etc. They certainly ALREADY and ALWAYS HAVE offered the ability to purchase tangible combat effectiveness upgrades. The only advantage that Premium confers is SHORTENING THE GRIND time to be able to purchase said upgrades. What you are saying makes no sense. There are so many people on this forum that have no idea what pay to win means.

Pay to win means that I can only buy a UBER gun with real cash and no other gun that powerful can be had with grinding only, that allows me to significantly out-damage non-paying players assuming skill is equal.

A grind once is acceptable. When it becomes a constant maintenance cost, the game becomes a constant grind2win scenario. Once they offer a metagame financial advantage with the premium account, in tandem with any scenario that can ever consume more C-bills than it generates, that means that the long-term average combat viability of a non-premium account goes down - which is the very definition of pay2win. It's just a little bit sneakier.

Definitely a custom decal system that's moderated. Although it should probably be limited to Lances to cut down on workload.

One thing I see talked about a lot is single player missions. I would pay for these.

What I would love even more would be a 2-4 player co-op PvE campaign that you have to work together to solve the end goal. Those I would definitely pay for.

Also Mech customization (such as swapping out a missile hard point for a ballistic or a energy hard point.

Should also be acquirable via c-bills:
  • Artillery-deployed minefields
  • Minesweeper bots
  • Close air-support missions
  • AA Missile battery
  • Deployable stationary turrets
  • Armory (repair/re-arm) support unit

I would pay money for the following:

1. Custom computer voices. I would enjoy being able to change the voice of the computer to things such as Angry Scots, William Walace, or a few movie characters. This adds some special customization to specific mechs.

2. The ability to put my family colors onto my future Highlander, or other mechs. Nothing screams Scottish heritage more so than showing the family colors.

3. Skin alterations, like adding a mohawk, enhanced skull, or other special alterations to the mech to make it look more disturbing or funny. I would enjoy making my mech look like a Scottish warrior.

4. The ability to have external speakers on my mech to play music outside of the cockpit, sort of like psychological warfare. The ability to turn it on or off would be interesting, so that you could sneak up on someone and freak them out by suddenly playing music as the missle barrage hits. :-)

* Animated taunts (I want my centurion to try and give the finger, etc)
* Special ammo that does extra damage to founders-mechs.
* A way to type in the amount of armor you want on a section, rather than manually going up and down with the arrows.

I WOULD PAY IN KIDNEYS FOR IN-GAME EXTERNAL SPEAKERS.

It would never happen, as the music choices some people would make would likely force people to quit a match faster than If they had realized they were up against a goon premade, but it would be awesome.

Imagine plodding up behind a team you had successfully flanked, then blaring out the immigrant song just before you opened fire.

"What the crap just killed me???"
"I have no idea, but apparently they come from a land of ice and snow"

An offline, non-drm, single player is the only thing I'm willing to pay for. And the story would have to be top notch, like the old days. I no longer pay for in-game crap, other than DLC.

Best thing I can think of is clan customization. Come down to it the biggest aspect of the game will be clans and groups and every clan and group dreams of being unique on the battlefield. World of Tanks accomplished this by allowing clans to buy the ablity to add/change a clan logo. This logo would be applied to all members tanks. The same idea can be applied to MWO, have a clan logo proudly displayed on mechs shoulders or wherever they look good being displayed unique to each different mech. I know for a fact lots of clans and group would pay for that.

However a better alternative, something that would make MWO really pop as a game would be to allow clans the ability to create there own mech skins. Nothing fancy or anything but something like a paint job with something unique that only that clan can add which can be applied to all members mechs should they choose to. The logo idea would be by far the simplest thing to do but having mech companies with there own custome skins is something else entirely that I have never seen before.

Besides for the obvious of adding skin choices for mechs would be decals. Something to spice up peoples mechs. Kind of like that Hero mech they released with the red sun burst and white paintjob but available to purchase for any mech. Adding country flags is another choice, some people would just like to display there nations flag on there mechs. Might get chewed out by some people for that because they like to roleplay and such. To meet there demands or whatever can also add House Davion, House whatever logo's that people can add.

The best decals or customistions would have to be interior customisation since that is what every player will be looking at.

Nah, the nations of modern Earth are part of the setting's history, and even in the 31st century some traditions, identities, and animosities from the old nations remain.

I don't know if it's been suggested previously, but I would pay for some PvE content (which the game is currently lacking). I was talking with my gaming community [Unrepentant], and we thought it would be pretty awesome to have the Clan Invasion forces controlled solely by Artificial Intelligence, and could have clan Item/mech salvage (but only useable in PvE, Clan Mechs/Items in PvP would be too unbalanced).

In addition, some territory control (i.e. players can choose factions, and whichever faction own the planet/system and get C-bill/xp bonuses while held), this could be implemented either with a Mission type launch, or just have a planet with Open-World PvP.

I'd pay for them to fix DHS to the way they are supposed to be.

I agree to a lot of the posters. MWO totally needs a site store with custom t-shirts, coffee mugs, miniatures, key chains, maybe even some re-sale of the Mechwarrior books. I would immediately buy a coffee much and t-shirt just saying.... I doubt they'd even have to pay for designers all it would take is a forum post for fan art to go on the the items.

As I'm sure other people have pointed out by now, the most popular purchase options would be anything cosmetic. Camo/paint schemes, decals, bobbleheads...I remember people expressing a willingness to even pay for in-cockpit voice alternatives.

There's also obviously premium mechs. I don't think you should be able to customize premium mechs, but so long as they're not more powerful than anything you can earn for free, they're perfect. Just like World of Tanks, where the premium tanks are in-fact worse than any other tank of their tier...but earn you credits and free experience out the wazoo(that you still have to pay to convert to utilize but whatevs).

I would pay something like like 5 MC per-game to launch custom games (arbitrary teams, mixups). That would work out to like $0.02/player/game, and would both let us do practices/testing easily and facilitate organized tournaments among pre-made groups easily.

Camera drones, ie a 3rd person viewpoint. I want to be able to see my big stompy battlemech in action, rather than just having a cockpit view.

I'd pay to have more cockpit junk. Even better if I could put a bunch of different things. Cockpit slots or list of conflicting items?

Funny toys, coffee cups, guns and knives, custom control surfaces/joystick, optional pilot clothing(seriously. I'd actually look at myself) Taunt animations for the pilot (or maybe even the mech? *Atlas flips guy off*)

Of course custom skins, and decals. I'd love to be able to upload my own images. One detail though. If I'm going to make a insignia for my group or lance I'd like to be able to share that with my fellow pilots. Would it be fair to ask for there to be an upload charge to me but free to anyone I'd wish to send it? (Only uploader can share so it doesn't spread like wildfire)

I personaly think that if you make pilot avatars and make evry option that is abnormal...lets say like purple eyes cost some miniscule amount of cash..or wierd clothes...make the mech cabin customisable...bobble heads...stickers...diferently colored sensor readings...and you can put those in packages... customisable guild lobbys...differently colored lazers :)~~~~

but make evrything lore friendly :)

I would pay for Hud changes

from the classic Brown/orange feel to and color choice - Blue, Green, Red

A Voice in my mech telling me my levels of damage for example Arm gets destroyed the voice will say
"Left Arm is Destroyed" or "Critical Failure" "Shutting Down" on power up at start "All Systems are Nominal"
or when your down to your final bit of life the computer would be like "warning, warning, warning"

Faction Mech-bays, color changing the lasers.

just an idea. not written in stone.
