Just waking up and checking the forums, thanks for all your wonderful comments so far, it's really appreciated by the whole team and helps drive everyone at PGI to really deliver for all the fans eager to strap back into a Mech. One quick note with regards to heat, missile/ac speed, atlas headshots we have not been through our main balancing passes for the game yet so these are still subject to change, don't worry we're just as keen as you to ensure that it is all balanced correctly.

Missiles looked awesome. I love that they don't fly at mach 7 to the target.

Would you like this bucket of money? Or my first born? Both?

This gameplay trailer has more than exceeded my own personal expectations. This is absolutely beautiful.

One thing I want to make very clear - the game is coming out this Summer, not December.

well that exceeded expectations... I still want to see a nice PPC fired, but the AC20 round zipping in and it's impact, the lines drawn on the mech by the laser fire, the LRM's arching up and into the mechs, the jenner at a quick run bouncing the pilot around in the cockpit. It's all so well done.

/why is it not summer
//when will it be summer, and so on and so forth

A critical system is no way like MW4. You can put anything weapon, gadget, widget whatever in there as long there is enough critical space.

A hybrid hard point + critical systems will help against boating issues, since IS DHS are absolutely huge and ammunition actually takes up critical space. :P

MW4 actually had a hybrid hard point + critical system for weapons - size of the slot = critical points and type of the slot = hard point. Heat sinks, electronics, and engine size were simply weight based.

I don't know. :D

I started throwing rolled up bills of $20 at my monitor until 90% of the screen had broken pixels, but I still didn't see MWO in my Steam Library.

Someone needs to make an entire movie about this. *chuckling* Then again, I would love to see movies about The Clans.

I suppose you wont mind sitting out BETA then,

until the DEVS get with the program,

and provide you with the graphics you want;

to warrant your presence online & ingame??

:)

Oh please, don't be butt hurt about an opinion.
I was just simply pointing out that with all the yadda about how much detail and love they put into the game maybe the lasers shouldn't leave MG marks on the ground, but actual laser marks like ... maybe those in the star wars games.

, fan boys who can't even take some critic.

Jesus, fan boys who can't even take some critic.

Though I support your side of this argument (even through the lemming/meme-esque use of 'butt hurt'), please don't use any religious swears in the future. Appreciate it.

Mechlab sounds like it'll be just like previous mechwarrior games, I can understand you want customization but swapping out arms and cockpits isn't what mechwarrior has ever been about. From what he said it sounds like they'll have variants like in MWLL, so say you have an Atlas he might have a ballistic slot on one arm and a laser slot on the other arm or Atlas B will have Lasers on both arms etc. and you can then swap out those lasers/ballistic weapons/missile slots with an array of different types of weaponry, bombast lasers, PPC, gauss rifles etc.

I'm deadset against rampant customization. Personally, I'd rather purchase a 'Mech, then be given a choice of predetermined loadouts based on canon variants, instead of being able to strip everything off a stock 'Mech and slap on 12 medium lasers. I'd rather not take the arm off an Atlas and attach it to a Catapult...that's ridiculous.

I think the MechLab, in whatever for it takes, will make or break the game for some people.
