Hey, great to hear and a good decision on y'alls part. Sorry for a lot of the grief you get it, most of us just come at it from the perspective of wanting the game to succeed so we mean well. Keep up the great work, you really do have a solid framework of a game here.

Are you seriouse?! But this is bul... nonsence! You force me and my friends to brake off our battlemech company and play separate lances.... No way. Cmon, this is team play based game. No reason to protect number of losers who still not able to organise theirselfs into a groups. Randoms allways have not much chances against pre made groups. Anywhere. This is natural.
Please Phase 2 must to be reconcidered.

People who don't want to organize aren't "losers". They just play the game a lot more casually. I love MW but I have a lot of other games to play and a lot of other things going on in my life. I have no plans of ever joining any kind of guild/clan/group/whatever. This is always going to be a big segment of the population in any game of this sort. PGI can't just think of the people who take the time to organize, they're trying to work with everyone and have come up with a good solution. I would hope we all can appreciate that.

I absolutely agree, except the thing is that while these matchmaker builds won't be final, they are pretty heavy handed on those who build groups of sizes OTHER than 4 or 8. While I won't judge PGI if they go ahead with these Phase MM builds as planned (it IS a Beta after all) - I feel that there are other options out there that don't punish any segment of the playerbase - and therefore those options should in my opinion be given higher priority so as not to needlessly annoy any beta testers.

Either way, I'll keep on keeping the faith. Again, it's a beta - no matter what, myself and others are bound to remember some parts of this phase in MW:O's evolution less favorably than others.

Never been part of a beta where the devs were so open with the community and actually LISTEN to thier concerns. Well done PGI, I see a LOOOONG and profitable future for MWO.

this cash cow is happy with the post

as for pugs and longevity of game play.... im a pug 5 years on everquest till i hit grind wall at one lvl a year not fun, 6 years on wow till it torcked me with a bad play setup, 4 years on champions bata till i was disenfranchised a months be for i found MWO .

the pug player will keep this game going for years after group have disbanded and guilds die. plus both as a Mechwarrior and Shadow runner, I know i would like to prove my self as a top notch player and mech builder sow, win i play back up on a prefab team they know they dont have to baby sit. To this end i like to would like to see a hybrid system set up where a player like my self ( wich works a different shift than my friends ) can get a Name that says im worth it .

3 mech teams and less vs
4-6 mech teams vs
7-8 mech teams vs......ringer teams vs elite( or buddies ) team

Pug need this game just like all them folks who need it to play with there buddies, and as for my Mechwarrior template tight cast, all most always has been as sub stander mechwarrior or a free birth clanner. i live to pilot a mech , not to win wars or glory , not royals or Arcons, but because i know im not a peace of scum. Even if i am scum, I will be scum of note

I will be an elite pug and u will be a mechwarroir that cant play without your buddies, ill have fun and while your life just sucks u will have the perfect setup i will be adaptive u will lose 2 mech to my 1.

Can anyone tell me how I go about requesting a refund of my Founders purchase and get taken off the mailing list?

OH THANK GOD !!!

You have no freekin idea how disheartening it is to have to reboot every third game becasue of the memory leaks, to be chasing 1 guy and suddenly have 4 gausscats (or the new gaussjenner) pop-up withn 100 meters of you at the same time because the scope is so bad and all the premades are on the other team and have to battle them when the FPS drop from 15 to 4 within a second. At least I'm getting used to rebuilding the keybinds because the files get reset so often, sheesh I dont even bother anymore- you want me to play like im on a console so be it. The controls are utterly useless, I've NEVER had to play a mechwarrior game with a freekin keyboard !

Good luck attracting and keeping casual players, this diehard mech'er is almost completely disgusted after a WEEK.

Thank you Paul and the rest of the MWO team.

Since this community is rather large, you probably wouldn't notice one person's absence much. But I have been pretty much unconcerned and uninvolved with the MWO community for some time due to the slow development process and lack of focus on progression and community warfare. I'm really waiting to see that before I spend much more time here.

Then with the announcement of Open Beta I was really disappointed because it seems your release schedule is moving faster than your development can keep up. So I'm certainly happy to see it pushed back. I really don't care when MWO is released, so please take all of the time you need to get the MWO made that we were originally promised. Promised might be too strong of a word, so feel free to replace that with "marketed".

Right now all I see is the core of the game and nothing around it to help keep people logging-in month after month. I hope that changes before the pushed-back open beta. Thanks.

I have to agree that phase I and phase II as currently outlined is flawed. Dividing clans into lances simply because the current members online are between 5 and 7 is poor planning. I have been on the receiving end of a full group premade faceroll numerous times. If my Clan isn't online and I choose to launch a game that is the chance I take. Forcing a clan to excise members from a group so they may play is poor management and will result in short tenures of play.

I think I am with you on this one. Our group is small and we always have more then 4 on but never 8 it seems so now we are FORCED into 2 smaller groups, where can I ask for my money back. Do I just go to submit a ticket and do other, want to make sure I get it right.

Do you understand what the new system will mean? If my group has 5, 6, or 7 peeps we can't play together. Incidentally most of the time that's how many peeps we have.

Good call guys. I think this may be the first time a developer has taken the wishes of their community into account in such a big way. Thank you!

Please re-consider the way grouping will be done. We often have 5-7 online at one time, so more than 4 but less that 8 and that will be our only options? We cannot stay in the same room in comms that way as it will get too confusing so we will have to split up not only in-game but on comms as well. Not all units can field a full 8...

Sure you can play with them. You'll just have 2 groups. Stay calm and wait for Phase 3.

This happens in every game with a group size limit, why different here. If you had 8 friends grouping and the 9th shows up you have to tell him sorry. Plus arn't they talking about having a way to group two groups of 4 into a 8 person group, what happens if you have 4+3 you get a pugger added in. Or if you have 4 + 4+1, that last one has to pug. They way I see it with a 12 man group as planned you get to have 3x 4 man lances to make a 12 person company.

If the game was 4 v 4 then I wouldn't have a problem. The game is 8 v 8 and makes no sense to limit group sizes to 4 players other than to cater to players that don't want to work together.

Right man so now since my group is usually 5-6 people we cannot play together or have to switch to different rooms in our coms and if we launch at the same time we could have to play against ourselves, this is not what I asked for.

Request you read my thread here http://mwomercs.com/...le-and-elegant/ and comment on it. I think it scratches your itch and PGI may use it or something like it if enough people like it.

I've read only first and this last page but I can guess what's going on.

So, you have 5-6-7 people in your group ? Cool, then just go and fetch 3-2-1 more. Where ? How about official TeamSpeak server ? Isn't that the same (or even better) than to get a 1-2-3 random PUGs like you used to get til now ? At least those guys that you find on official TS will try to work with you for the win.
I mean, c'mmon people, DEVs are trying to address complaints about "less than 8" groups always getting to fight against full premades and now that they've addressed that issue suddenly new one is where to find 1-2-3 more. They've clearly stated it's temporary until new phase(s).

DEVs, thank you for addressing the issues that was bothering community for so long. I just wish this came earlier because we would avoid at least 50% of bitter-threads that kept popping for some time. But I guess better late than never. I hope you continue to address anything that worries the players in large scale.
