Good job, you just convinced half your Founders not to get a refund.

The ones who didn't already get a refund.

There is still not enough game here to justify a $120 investment. That's why I got a refund.

inb4 I love the franchise, I am making an investment, I know the value will come eventually, I just like Mechwarrior, I am too rich for my own good.

It seems so :D

Until CW is in, I really think there should just be an extra weighting based on group size in the matchmaker.

They need the skill based matchmaker in to allow that.

Id also like to thank the Devs for letting us know whats going on. Personally i might not be a great fan of dropping the group size down to 4 even in the short term. But if it helps keep the pugs happy while giving the coders time time to build a better match making system i will accept it and not complain too much :D I have to admit i am curious what the financial estimates are on the income from pug players versus the more hardcore ones.

Although i understand how hard it must have been to move the open date back, i think in the the long term its the right decsion. Launching the game as is may have hurt the game so badly it never recovered. So i salute you for making a brave choice.

OH JESUS

OH... OH YEAHH

OH MY

ME LIKEY SO MACH.

Really though, I'm throughly pleased with this announcement. It couldn't have been easy to change such a major decision as open beta launch but yous done what had to be done rather than bury your heads in the sand.

That's why I'm comfortable that the future of Mechwarrior is in your hands guys.

THE HANDS OF THE FUTURE ....of Mechwarrior, not the world or such. Ahem.

This impressed me enough to pull the trigger and go with the legendary founder pack knowing I'm still building up a system to play.

This was the right move. Ironing out existing problems and making sure basics work before entering to the stage of open beta is a must. This project deserves the best result.

I believe early "open beta" announcement worked as a cold shower, forcing team to prioritize things. Now they have addressed to most critical problems and have a clear way ahead.

Thank you all at PGI for listening to the people that are, well, for the most part, trying to help you make a great game.

I like the changes/announcements and the extra work that has been done over the past couple of days has finally paid off.

Thanks again.

(NOT a fanboi, just grateful)

- Tiers 9-10 tanks benefice only if you got a premium account .

Nice to see that there are still developer teams out there, willing to make high quality pc games and willing to take the necessary time (and the risks going with this approach) to do so. This is especially uncommon when it comes to a free-2-play business model.

This really is the first Beta I play, where I got the feeling, that the devs actually listen to the community and really try to straighten the important issues out.

I for myself, am glad I've spend the 30 bucks for my founders package. Keep the good work up Piranha and release the game when it's done (if financially possible).

This does reduce the change of finding a match quickly but at the same time 8-players teams will finally be matched to other 8-player teams exclusively.

You ******* kidding, right? This is NOT good.

Phase 2 means that a pre-made can only drop against another full pre-made.

I know most of the active units in the community and have a good number of them on my friends list, MSN, etc. I do not think there's enough of them to make the mechanic (as described) be anything less than infuriating. Right now KaoS might get 1 in 20 drops vs. another pre-made, the numbers are skewed massively toward PUGs.

We're going to be getting a lot of "game cannot be found" messages.

Skip Phase 2 (it's a **** idea) and go straight for a proper lobby and challenge system.

Great news.

As of the previous Beta announcement, I had doubts as to the future of MWO and my participation with it.

with this announcement my faith was restored and it made it an easy choice to update my founders package to Legendary from Elite.

thank you for paying attention and doing your best to fight for the community in a struggle against the business side of this development, an uphill battle at the best of times, and I for one appreciate this.

Match Making:

The developers at PGI are all veteran game players. Many of us were or still are competitive gamers and truly know the feeling of a great match played between two equally matched teams.

The next 3 stages of planned releases for Match Making involve the following:

This is one of the most hideous match-making proposals I can possibly imagine. Not only do we have no control over who we drop with, but we only get to drop in groups larger than 4 if we can drop a full set of 8.

Why do you hate us so much?

Thank you for postponing open beta, I'm sure the game will be better for it.

Just to make sure everyone sees this: "This is why we move to Phase 2 VERY soon after Phase 1."

Great news Garth. We have waited a decade for a new MW game... a few more decades for organized matchmakings wont kill very many any ponies.

If they could somehow get it so that groups of 5 - 7 get matched against another group of 5 - 7 (numbers for the 2 groups dont have to be even in this case so you could have a group of 5 matched against a group of 7) and then fill the remaining slots with puggers.....

Other then that, having the ability for a group of 8 to just click launch and have the game find a match for them is sometimes what people will want. So having the option there isnt a bad thing.

I can understand how you feel, however it won't be staying like that forever, you will have to give it time. :P

Btw,

Paul, thx for the info and Keep on Troll'in! B) :D

This is a surprisingly honest and open statement of where the game is and what needs to be done to make it the amazing experience we're all hoping for.

Kudos to you and your team for your openness, willingness to listen to the community and continued great efforts. Keep it up!
