So...

Potential Hero Highlander: "Eddie", piloted by an unknown/unnamed masked MechWarrior
Listed in TRO 3050 Upgrade, pg. 220 - described as having first appeared during the War of 3039
Noted for its distinctive paint scheme - bright red with crisscrossing black and white stripes
Loadout not listed (giving PGI a bit of free reign)

"Some say the MechWarrior refers to himself as 'BattleStig', and that his most famous ancestor was a mute who operated racing vehicles for an early holovid-analogue. All we know is... he pilots 'Eddie'."

That's the image that came up on a search for "red Stig".
Apparently, that one's official title is "Communist Stig", and that one is apparently related to Vietnam in some way.

I figured a Stig reference would be more greatly appreciated than a Char reference (with the latter, perhaps Eddie would be three times faster/more-agile than other Highlanders :D).

Also, this is Racer X:

There are a few scenes which include the Highlander in the Go Ballistic trailer on You Tube:

Wow, looks amazing. I can see it still needs some texture and model work, but it's coming along very nicely.

Missing a bump map or a normal map or something.

Also note the 3x medium laser in the left arm, not a feature of any canon stock variants.

also it's pretty pink and looks like it has things stuck to it's head.

The fact, it is pink, has speakers at his head and got 3 lasers on his arm just mean its the Highlander of Rhonda Snord and will be a Hero Mech ;P

If Rhonda Snord's Highlander is going to be a hero 'mech, I might get it.

It would also be the first hero 'mech for a clan pilot (since Rhonda Snord came along with Wolf's Dragoons to gather info from the Inner Sphere for the Clans).

You already see it in the trailer so why shouldn't it come? :P

Any thoughts on the loadout? Looks like

Right Arm; Gauss Cannon
Right Torso; nothing (minus 2 med lasers)
Left Torso; LRM10 (rather small holes mind u), SRM6 (and rather large holes? SSRM6 ? nah)
Left Arm; 3 Medium Lasers

Head; extra commercial grade speakers

You guys remember back when we got mech previews and the devs actually pretended to care?

The LT's large holes could be energy hardpoints.

No, those are almost certainly the tubes for an SRM 6, and the LT also looks to carry a ten tube LRM launcher as well.

EDIT In comparing Rhonda's Highlander (Or as I refer to it, the SnordLander) to the original Highlander concept art, it looks like she moves the Energy HPs from RT to LA, and the LA SRM 6 to the LT, with the LRM launcher dropping from twenty tubes to ten. So the SnordLander looks to have an RT that's possibly empty of hardpoints.

Although I have to wonder why it appears the Highlander and SnordLander have an AMS on each hip? Or maybe that's just a fiddly bit that looks like an AMS... <shrug>

It's very likely just the piston/shock-absorber bit that is also visible in the old Highlander art:

Thanks, that makes sense. I have to admit they made me do a serious double take as I began to study the video for clues.

I reckon I'll have to have all the Highlanders. Just hope the jump works.

yep ) but I don't think Highlander will survive for a long time with XL engine. there won't be any weight for SRMs either. and with jumpjets you'll be able to install only 17-18 DHS, which is not that good for 3 PPCs. You'll become only a sniper which can be easily sniped and killed by destroying it's L/R torso.
