A fellow Blazing Ace (Jace Nevada) stretched the image out in Photoshop to illustrate what I was talking about with the legs feeling far too short. This was just a quick job but I think it illustrates what I was concerned about with the legs:

Overall, I really like FlyingDebris's concept for this, but I really, really am hoping that the final build of the Awesome expands on the leg size a lot. This just feels way more.. "right." In fact I have a suspicion that someone might have actually stretched his concept image to make it better fit for the reveal format?

The Awesone was one of my favorite mechs to jump in when I was playing Mechwarrior 4. There was nothing more fun than trying to duck and weave in it while waiting for the heat sinks to catch up with your last Alpha-strike. :D Seriously good choice on adding the Awesome, its going to be a blast to play!

Next mech out should be the Vindicator. I'm actually hoping they drop that mech for the release. I like to think of it as a Warhammer wanna-be. Granted I hope I never have to eject from it but it would be fun to blaze away with it's PPC.

Not suprised that its an Awesome, but glad it made the list. All it needs now is a PPC counterpart like the Warhammer.

And i too thought the legs looked a bit squat.

Awesome was always on my list of second line or backup mechs... gotta love that imposing frame.

Actually, I think I like the more 'squat' version myself. Part of the reason it looks funny might just be that you can't compare the height to other mechs. The image won't be to scale with other mechs because they had to fit the whole width in. The longer-legged one just feels too fast and light footed, like a heavy.

I can see it working both ways - the original, un-stretched version gives it a more "gorilla-esque" look and stance, while the stretched version is more human-like in its proportions.

Im happy either way. The longer legs give it that familiar look, but the squat look makes it more of a brawler stance.

Either way its a win win for most of us because it is in fact...Awesome :D

Great artwork.

But - once will not hurt - I still prefer the original (battletech) design.

to the 3050 AWS-9M:

I do prefer the 3025 art to the 3050. I think the unstretched concept are looks better. Just me :D

Hoped for a good version of the Awesome,...and got it. Once I get into one, nothing will ever get me out.

Loving it: the damage an Awesome can take and deal is just that, a match for an atlas if he can keep his distance.
Great add to the assault class.

Not liking the stretched version at all. Makes it look like a medium. To me, the original looks far more "right". 3025 Awesome is the best.

What an Awesome Mech design! Good work FD. Nicest Awesome yet. I like the stockiness of the build and the toning down of those conical inward-tapering shoulders.

Might seriously consider this Mech.

Golden awesome, hilarious:D But really its nice design, a bit simplistic compared to fd's other designs but still a good looking mech. Now i have my assault mech of choise:)
