I am subscribed to email updates and to the facebook page. No email was sent regarding both the close of the Founder's package and the start of Open Beta. Only a small note on the Mechwarrior Online facebook page mentioned that open beta was today, no time was given either. How do you expect your players to know? FYI this was an email recieved on 10 Oct, no mention of the end of Founder's package was given. To the trolls who would ask why I didn't buy earlier, this was because after I got into closed beta, there was no point buying it before Open Beta, and also I really hate data wipes. Going through a data wipe once is as much as I can take.

MechWarrior Online BETA Update

To the MechWarrior™ Online® Community:

We are pleased to announce the latest engine drop of CryENGINE 3.4.1. This was a large undertaking and has helped us address many of the game’s issues and bump up performance and rendering capabilities.

What does this mean to you? The game looks significantly better. All of the maps have had their lighting tuned and you’ll now see a lot more detail in the environment. Minimum spec PC players should notice a fairly good improvement in performance with tuning still on-going and will be coming down the **** as we optimize the game on our way to Open Beta.

DirectX 11 and 3D Vision support are currently disabled while we resolve the remaining few issues. These will come on-line in an upcoming patch.

We have also taken this opportunity to add some new pathing in River City for you to explore which adds some more gameplay strategies when approaching enemy bases.

You might need to check your email account, there have been several emails after that one that were sent out detailing pushback of open beta, patch notes, then the release date of open beta.

[Monday Oct. 29th - New Mechs, New Toys, Open Beta!
Greetings everyone!

We wanted to give you an update on how everything is going, and to thank you for being here with us!

Firstly: Open Beta is on schedule and will be beginning quite soon (12 noon PDT, Monday!)....

Or a Mail containing this info (received 11. Oct)?

....aha
So you are disapointed....
I recomend the support ticket function for .....bothering people.
A more constructive approach could have been the search function in the forums or simply reading the news.
Thats still my advice for getting news and information instead of .... never mind.

I checked, i searched all my folders, including spam. if they sent out the emails i'm not getting it. I got another email on the 26th of Oct, with no mention of an open beta date either.

Your inbox must be filtering stuff out; I always receive any news and patch notes directly via email. As for Founders, you should treat it like an investment and a donation, not a product; pity you missed out, but there will be other offers in the future. Check your profile settings and tick the "Receive Newsletter" checkbox to get all your emails, and check your spam filter too.

I really don;t think so, I wouldn't be able to get any of the newsletters in this case. I have added beta-newsletter@mwomercs.com to my address book too, so i couldn't have missed it. unless gmail does filtering of emails consisting only of graphics.

Guess someone should have taken a more proactive interest in the game by visiting the site more often. After all the Founders program was already due to expire MONTHS ago.

To current and potential trolls, this is more an expression of disappointment and how the company can do better. The game has a facebook page, do they just use it for adding chrome?

I've recieved the last mail from beta-newsletter@mwomercs.com on 25. Sept. Around that time I also got mails from newsletter@mwomercs.com.

After that date, all mails recieved were from newsletter@mwomercs.com.

So I guess they just moved from using 2 different ones to just newsletter@mwomercs.com

Perhaps the newsletter is for general information for all those who signed up and beta-newsletter aims for only beta testers? From the contents of the mails both sent out, it seems likely. There's also 1 mail from beta@mwomercs.com, the one which informed me of the beta access grant.

I don't mean to be rude, but you are the only person to have brought the issue up that I have seen. That would indicate that it's something at the user end more sothan at the sender end. The updates were sent via email to all that were registered and posted here on the forums.

Ahhh, sorry for the double post, looks to me like the email thing is the issue.

I'm so glad you're not developing MW online or selling stuff that I want. lack of effective communication loses customers.

Sure.. your friend did too.. uh-huh.

My friends and I and everyone at work including pets got the email. See what I did there?

Or perhaps they only sent emails every second alphabet letter? Or was it their mailing guy was distracted by pics of Jessica Alba?

Keep it civil eh. I don't have any wonder these days why people avoid this forum, it's so full of hate and vitriol it's not funny.
