I'd be very dissapointed to see this go. :) It's by far my favorite tool for MWO.

Oh, I will keep updating the minimal stuff if need be (like mechs/weapon changes for patches), but for extra features (like DnD), this will allow others to chip in, and maybe cleanup the code (again, because it is in need of some restructuring).

For an IDE, I used Netbeans.

One of my favorite ways to pass time, is to fire up the off-line java based 'mechlab. A quick glance reveals that I have put together (and saved) more than 170 'mechs so far. When my friend are stuck in mwo mechlab trying to figure out something, I point them in this direction (or I run the build through the your mechlab and quickly offer suggestions: nope, that build is not going to fit endo steel - sorry!)

Keep up the good work!

This. I guess many have moved to browser-based smurfy.net, but Mechbay Java never halts, doesn't require you to use the browser and I love to play with unreleased mech configurations.. I've been doing lots of trebuchets and Jager builds and this program is a great help!

I wonder how "Time To Shutdown" is calculated.
I built out a splattercat with all SRM6 and an XL300 engine and DHS
I expect that the in-engine double heat sinks work at a 2.0 rate while the extras only work at 1.4.
So I ran the the number of heat sinks from 10 up thru 16 and got the following numbers

(Mechlab ver 2.4.08)
DHS.......Time Till SD....Increase
--------------------------------------------
10..........11...................
11..........11.76..............0.76
12..........12.58..............0.82
13..........13.46..............0.88
14..........14.42..............0.96
15..........15.45..............1.03
16..........16.58..............1.13

I would expect the time till shutdown to be most affected by heat sinks 11 and 12 (in-engine) and then it should be completely linear after that. What am I missing? Or is there a bug

Oohhhh... heat threshold increases with heat sink count...
I'd delete this but it is instructional...

Quote

Furthermore, the heat threshold is given by
[heat threshold] = 30+[number of EHS].

Btw, probably after this next MWO patch and subsequent update for this program, I hope to have this on github for those who want to continue this program.

Thanks for your time and efforts with this terrific little program! It has saved me a ton of c-bills and is a great distraction at work (productivity be damned!)

Thanks for releasing your source on Github, Majora. I can kinda see why you thought your scripting method might be ugly.
Honestly, it isn't too bad. Mostly simple, but you just store your variables differently.... mostly into the codes than a "data" file.

I think I could rework it to read data from the itemstats.XML file directly from MWO's PAK file. That way it can be speedy updated soon as XML is replaced.

Unless I'm blind I'm not seeing the X5 in the list.

For some reason it didn't fully sync, it should be correct now.
