But i've noticed several times since the Open Beta start that tensions are firing up between new players to the point where they start shooting at eachother however usually there was a conflict over some misfire or something not just randomly shooting at people.

I'm not naming names because that would just draw them in here, but no one's ever taken them up on their offer so it doesn't bother me.

Aside from that, only a few scratches here and there when it gets hectic...

I think we can assume intent here ...

Planetside 2 has a clever system in place that locks players guns and vehicles that they drive. They can't fire for a period of time after hitting other players on their side. You have to really go out of your way to do this though. Mechwarrior Online has no such system in place to combat Team Killers and that is why it is going to be an issue in MWO as the server population increases. Pirhana Games needs to find a way to punish TK's,

So why TK??? Does it help the farmers? Are they taking the view it accelerates the game time? It may ... by a minute or so but not by much ... if that's the stance, then they really haven't thought this out much. Their methods could probably be fine tuned with other tactics to reduce game time.
There are only two other reasons I can fathom: Griefers and ignorance. It is hard to combat griefing ... its a bit of an accepted challenge that is inherited by all online games ... too many people with power/control issues given animosity but that research is for another discussion. The "Ignorant", however, could be (I'm stretching on this one but trying to be hopeful) people that just do not know they start on a team in the game, spawning as a group ... they drop and begin firing at the first mech they see believing it an enemy. I would HOPE they comprehend their mistake so as not to TK or repeat the incident.
TKs are just ... odd in this game ...

And so unapologetic about it, can you imagine?
Well, more to the point, I've never witnessed a purposeful TK, ever - perhaps they're targeting specific 'Mechs or users...?

I know exactly who you are talking about and it's the most hilarious thing ever.
