With all the incessant whining going on after the patch (not that there wasn't any pre-patch) I thought I would take the time to say that I have no problems with this patch.

There are a couple of issues that I'm sure will be fixed, and the damage one is being fixed ASAP, but over all this has been one of the better patches.

No I don't use LRMs, but the Incoming Missiles warning gives plenty of time to find cover and I've had no trouble with missiles arcing over the cover. Since the DHS in the engine are actually working now, I haven't had any problems with heat, even though they're not actually Double Heatsinks (should be called Improved Heatsinks maybe). I like the 'new' map, and haven't been on the old Forest Colony to see the ship yet, but more cover in the open areas never hurts.

All in all, well done Devs, keep up the good work and keep working on finding the balance that works for THIS game, since most don't seem to realize that this is not MW2, 3, or 4.

you have officially ruined this game i have wasted way too much money on a game that is going backwards instead of forwards generally speaking the more you work on things they should get better but the more yall work on it it gets worse mark this game up as a total waste of money and if people can learn from me do not waste your money on them unless they can improve .I will never see mech warrior the way it use to be its lost forever...Thanks for ruining the game guys.

This new patch is interesting. I've never had my Jenner headshot by LRMs before tonight. Bravo.

My entire lance quit playing after 2 sessions of LRM-filled skies.

MISSILE INCOMING!

Should just be changed to:

YOU ARE GOING TO DIE, SORRY!

I don't know how making LRMs totally a top-attack weapon is anything but an unnecessary buff to them.

Brilliant! +1

I was in rage mode earlier after playing the game a bit. Im calmer now and can say the patch is rather glitchy and not well balanced. I still like the whole idea of mechonline, but there needs to be balance and freedom for players to configure mechs they way they like (within weight limits) and to be able to group with people they have affiliation towards. a 4 perosn limit to groups that run with 8 is drastically not fair. i use teamspeak with 4 of us and we constantly complain about the pick ups that cant co-ordinate with us. I know the 8 man teams will not like this as they are pretty well organized and placing a handicap like this on them will ruin their experience.

try having rooms that a player hosts and when fokks fill it up he presses launch. chose map, tonnage etc ...sounds like the starlance mech3 huh...if it works dont fix it i guess.

Those who are still are still playing and enjoying even more post-patch need to make themselves heard.

I know we shouldn't have tabletop vs this game comparisons... The table top version was balanced, grilled and refined over for years and years... This games implementation of trying to make those balances the way you think it should fit in this game is what is wrong, not that original concept and settings.

Double heat sinks should by all definitions work 2x the rating of an original heat sink That was the methodology behind it all, the extra heat dissipation for larger space usage at the same tonnage until clan tech comes into play. It was to force people to pick between using 3 x internal space usage or 2 x heat dissipation.

Table top was very random because of dice vs skill of players. I think that is your next critical problem. You have no way to filter out skilled players vs unskilled. So you end up with people that know how to play the game the way its initially designed (not your re-tweak and attempted adjustments) vs some poor newbie who says "Wow this looks cool, crap I'm dead! WTF!"

I truly believe and understand that you need to find a balance; however, the problem isn't the way the stats of the the items we can equip in the game, its your match making system that puts highly skilled persons against people who have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Fix your match making system; stop screwing with the weapons, heat sinks engines, optionals, equipment and so on. Fix the match making system... THAT is your problem with the balance of this game.

I will post after any this is beta message until everybody gets it:

This is not a beta. They charge money, so its not a beta anymore. It doesnt matter how you call software. When you charge money and there are no more wipes, the software is released.

This Patch is abso-*******-lutely bollocks, they STILL have not added the Singleplayer Campaign, although the game has been released into open beta for ONE WEEK ALREADY!

Srsly devs, whatcha thinking?

Whilst I agree that strong matchmaking is an essential part of an enjoyable experience, I disagree that this would have a huge amount of impact on the DHS decision.

PGI have stated that the need for a DHS nerf was predicted in internal QA, which I expect is carried out by testers who are very familiar with the game mechanics by now.

Why does my game say 'welcome to the open beta' on start up!?

Because the marketing managers know there are enough gullible gamers around that will swallow that **** while PGI simultaneously take their money for mechs whose balance continues to change patch to patch.

Uhm....I'm guessing this is sarcasm? Or are you really expecting a singleplayer campaign?

none of the match making stuff matters if they are going to implement their original ideas and bids to play maps
