Wow, you guys really outdid yourselves. 75% of our merc unit is now not playing, including myself. You have succeeded in making this game boring beyond belief.

(1) 4 man premades. Sounds great.. One problem: Now we can't play with a full group of our teamates (which is always more fun than 4) and without more mechs, we can't run tactically advanced manuevers, such as timed flanking. It's boring now. Like mind numbingly boring.

(2) Adding to bordom is the missle factor. Nothing to do except hide behind structures so you don't die in 10 seconds. (Almost impossible to counter that with a 4 man team.)

(3) Limited tactics, no interaction with more than 4 people at a time, misslels that pin a whole group down for nearly the entire game. I think maps have a lot to do with this though and that can change, and that LRMs don't really have an equal couter to them, such as Long Tom artillery of some sort. That would be kinda fun lobbing artilery shells at LRM boats. No need to nerf LRMs thugh, just counter something.

(4) Conclusion: Good bye MWO. Was fun while it lasted. I'll be checking back now and again, but it was continually getting more and more boring with the "balance" you put in. I hope your pugs can support your efforts because that's who you're playing to. When I'm forced to play with strangers, that's not gonna go with me.

And since it's incredibly hard to earn cbills, even for a founder, I doubt that's gonna happen, especially when you get what, 1200MC for 10 bucks or something like that? I mean that's fine for a game you realy want to play. Curently what you have a is a really boring, much less team-like game, and more of a Counter Strike, casual game.

meh

Just to get this straight..... You have a hard time earning C-bills AS a founder that has been playing in an 8 man up til this patch and now still as a 4man. You must be aweful... There ARE a lot of problems currently, but c-bill rates and you not getting to pugstomp all day aren't amoung them..... Then again, sounds like you folks were matched pretty evenly with us pugs... though I never had a problem making money so......

I think I would be bored as well, always dropping into a full team, completely organized, in easy mode against people who are lone wolf, such as myself, and then losing that icing on my cake.

I would probably be unhappy too. Because we all know how important stats are to people. =)

You mean communicate llike as in typing things out? Yeah, that works well. That's why pugs get stomped.

Cbills: I never said I wanted things right now, and that has nothing to do with what I was getting at. Comprehension is your friend. Also, perhaps yuor playstyle is different. I play almost exclusively Atlases. They're just a little expensive to run.

Learn to play--LMAO. No comment on that one.

When 80% of mechs are running LRMS, that should tell you something right off. Yeah I know how to couter LRMs with your teamates, but still, tongiht we were all running quad LRMS just to prove a point. Everyone dies baby before they can ever get close. Add up the damage of 4 LRM 15s x 4 firing at the same time on the same focused mech--insta death (Do you know how many missles that is per second? And no, your ams isn't going to keep up with it.) And not only insta-death, but insta boring. I could care less what your opinion is on this. I've seen it first hand and it's confirmed by multiple people. In other words, the evidnce is there. And I'm not even saying LRMs should be nerfed.

That's exactly how it was BEFORE the patch, although you used to be on the other side of that, and now you are feeling what many others have felt for a LONG time. This is exactly why pre-mades should never be pitted against PUGs. You'd be surprised by how many PUG players are actually really great at playing, the problem is when they have the same thing happen to them that you are describing, except it happens ALL the time for us, and we learn to stay in cover or die. LRMs should NEVER be a primary weapon, but because of the mechanics in the game and cheap pre-made teams, it happens a lot.

OK, maybe i missed something here, but why would you play almost exclusively one type of mech?!? Hell i would get bored with that too. This 4 man team bump should be used to build lance dynamics. Try going all lights, or mix and match to your liking. Hell we were running a four man group of K2's with dual A/C 20's...lmao. The point is, this is a game, ANY game that you restrict yourself to one type of play-style will get boring fast.

The answer here is simple my friend, you have to own at least three varients of the same mech to unlock the "elite" and "master" tiers of upgrades for you mech. And some people just like playing one class of mech, not everyone wants to learn the nuances of playing a scout mech or the hit and run play style of mediums ;)

sorry, but its boring as **** right now.
Pretty much Diablo III like.
Farm farm farm..yay i hit something with my lrms... more lrms, or **** lrms firing at me now... ok, i got headshotted by op lrms
time to launch..farm..farm..lrms... ******* boring.

2 weeks? how many players won't come back in 2 weeks?
I sure as **** won't be clicking my premium button whenever it shows up. no way. this current patch is total crap.

Boring.
Btw, people in my clan said the same thing and left early tonight.
Sorry if its true.

Haha this is ********, put on something other than LRM's then, I do it and I have a 2.10 kill death ratio.

Also, is it strange I seem to alone, or just with 1 partner, make more C-Bills in a week than these people do in a month??

Good points.
But there is also the issue where mechs just die on the first damage they recieve:
as described in this thread

Also the paperdoll issue, that seems to be a seperate issue from the one described in the thread above.

I would also like to add that since yesterdays patch and the arrival of artimus missiles taking cover from missile boats doesn't help,I was in a match last night and saw an atlas hunker down between two tall buildings, against the old LRM system that would have made him safe from the 4 LRM boats that the other team had but the artimus missiles arched over the building and then vectored verticly down onto that atlas's head and upper torso, three salvo's later and he died.I'm not against LRM's or even LRM boats but when you can't even hide from missiles behind tall buildings or other such cover that would have worked last week then it tips the balance to far in the favour of the LRM boat and it seems that since yesterday everybody is loading out on artimus LRM's

I thought the OP's subject line was general enough to re-use...

- River City looks much nicer without the pervasive yellow haze
- SSRMs seem more balanced
- The "oil rig" at each objective is a great addition providing cover for defenders and contesting units alike
- The spawn points seem to have been moved closer on a couple maps, especially Caustic Valley north side. That's a big help.

Yes, cockpit shake is back, letting me know when people are connecting with LRMs and SRMs. Extremely useful. I'm pleased.

I was just in a match with my LRM boat awesome. My missile had thier old arc back. Little mechs were charging up on me and bigs ones where hiding behind terrain. Got killed by a commando. IT WAS AWESOME. Thanks so much for the hot patch. Top notch. :P

But anyway, this (very much not perfect) data does seem to show that playing a trial 'Mech does make you competitive incomes if not greater incomes than owning your 'Mech. I guess you do pay the price for customization.

Based on your data this makes me even more scared to get just a heavy mech. With premium and founders bonus you had a minimum profit of ~30K and that one match where you even lost money, but then again it was with an Atlas and Artemis missiles.

I think that it's strange that it's more viable sometimes to go for trial mechs if you're wanting to make money because you don't risk repair costs so you're guaranteed at least a minimum of around ~70K. It's just frustrating not making good money on a mech you grinded out hundreds of matches for only to have it make less money than a trial mech.

Woohoo! I just had a great match (we lost, but still) where the following happened:
1) LRMs were reasonable. You didn't want to get hit but no more than any other weapons
2) There was brawling. As in... I actually got to see the model of the guy I was shooting. Up close, sometimes! Actual brawling that didn't end in 10 seconds!
3) I ran a PPC Catapult K2 with DHS and Medium Pulses, and I got top damage on my team, over 500! And this was on Caustic!

I am psyched for this now... I am totally looking forward to getting better with PPCs. They still take heat management, but it's actually possible to use them! Not gonna beat a GC, but I had room for full armor, stock engine (non XL) the lasers, and AMS + 1 ton of ammo.

And we lost because our pilots were stupid. They ran out into and stayed in LRM rain. Since they didn't over-nerf LRMs, that's still a crappy idea. If they had actually avoided the Rambo rush (in Atlases, no less) we might have actually won.

EDIT: There was one hiccup - there is now blurring when you're watching post-death. You can switch from one person to another and it's still there.

EDIT2: Also, nice change in the MechLab... "Dynamic Structure"... I like it.
