Anyone else dying almost instantly by lrms when internal structure of ct is exposed? It then reads my internal structure is still there (usually orange) but I die.

Agreed, AMS was a lot more effective earlier on in the Beta, I think likely at its height when only certain variants had AMS hardpoints. Since AMS HP's were added to every chasis it seems their effectiveness has been reduced with time. I also agree the end patch of missiles is too vertical, need to lower it a few degrees so that cover can actually be used effectively.

Also while on the note of cover, it might be nice if tall soft cover like trees could block some incoming missiles maybe ? Not a huge ammount, maybe 5% ?

People use missiles because hit detection with ballistic and beam weapons is pretty not good (Crap) expecially with a high ping connection. Missiles have a missile lock and hit a higher percentage of the time. But with a beam or ballistic weapons the hit rate is much lower unless target is still or running away or forward you.

Havent tried new patch yet but i like LRM, In war every one fears artillery and LRM's are MWO's artillery.

To avoid the missiles break line of sight using cover and then move a bit more. This works for me even with my mechs that don't use AMS

Pretty sure that's what happens when the mech has an Artemis equipped. PGIs response to all the feedback about streaks/lrms being arguably OP? Nerf lasers and buff missiles. Makes perfect sense, these guys should be running for president.

Quick fix the thing detering the mass LRM spam. Open the gates to 8v8 LRM boat matches.. Until ECM is in or this is resolved no point playing as a brawler or scout.

They got a couple things right like the bobble fairy, new cent, and new map (could be more differences from old forest colony though), hit detection improved, and a few bug fixes...

The FAILS on DHS, pulse/small laser heat, and LRM arc/Artemis implementation overshadow the good stuff though.

LRM's at the very least should only Arc over cover with artemis...my understanding is they are doing it even without artemis now. That is bad.

Even morden existing missiles can be programmed for the trajectory you need. For example untinaval hypersonic missalies has this trajectory: go up (for fuel efficiency), 10-40km before target go down to "near surface" (reduces effect of antimisssile measures, but it eats fuel much more). So there is no problem to make it without "near surface" segment, if we need it. The problem was in weight and size of the guidance module... (the more complex targeting you need, the more weight from explosives you have to take ) but today... most smartphones have the power to calc such things, and they weight is <0.2 kilo... I dont think that after 1000 years, with tech allowing going from one star system to another people will have problems with size and brute force of the SoC Posted Image

The problem isn't realism, the problem is that it's totally and completely un-fun, for the shooter or the shootee. Kind of defeats the purpose of playing, wouldn't you say?

Just had a game like this, two or three people found the same thing. I was in an atlas and was targeted, had no time to do anything, didnt even get a single shot off. Only one component was damaged.. ..have decided to start recording to show just how ridiculous it is.

This tells me that they (intentionally or unintentionally) started pegging engines with crit hits. Not a TT player but think this was the correct behaviour under that system. Not sure it's desirable in this system - as you note, it cranks down the live fun-factor a bit.

Well this can't be patched yet, first match I played after patching and the 6 of 8 of the opposing team were fitted with lrm's, killed my little commando in two barrages even behind cover. Our team never got close to them. I guess this isn't worth playing until the next patch, I am sure there are ways to win against the 15 matches of nothing but LRM spam I've just had, but it's in no way fun. I thought LRM's were already the biggest complaint of the last patch, next to the ssrm catapult that cannot be defeated due to its unstoppable screen-shake powers, so why was there not even a minor nerf to missiles, just some kind of massive buff to them? I think all LRM's have this new flight path, unless I was just extremely unlucky and everyone I met had Artemis installed. Either way, this patch is not a fun game to play, and is making it very hard for me to convince my friends to come and play it with me.

Except every C-Bill and every Mech Credit you spend on something. No more resets. If you lose a few million bucks thanks to broken LRMs, they are gone. I just came out of a match as an LRM boat where it said I had 3 kills and 0 damage done. Trust me, the LRMs are absolutely hitting. In fact, thanks to Artemis, they currently seem to shoot vertically up in the air and land straight on your target's head, blowing it off often in a single salvo.

My exact sentiment. The weapon balance went from horrible to even worse. I'm not giving up on MWO but I am starting to have serious doubts.

yea looks like they somehow restored the OLD flightpath... i dunno why they did, but they can´t be serious^^ i was happy that i finally had to move my lazy LRM-4$$ to keep up a good firing positioning :P

Yeah. This is absolutely moronic! And their biggest worry is XP. How bout the C-bills and XP I'm losing because these idiotic missiles are causing insta-death. PGI is proving to be a pretty ****** company.
