NEWS UPDATE:

Hi everyone! I have some updates for you!

First thanks again to all of you for your interest and suggestions.

After lots of testing with the current match making system we have decided to wait until the next phase of match making is implemented. That said we are still very much moving ahead with this and are very excited to do so. We will keep you all upto date when we are ready to go ahead with the Tourney.

So lets cross our fingers for next week and I hope to see you all on the battlefield. As always please keep the PM's coming and feel free to talk to me on TS3 in the comstars or in NGNG.

Thanks again!

I chose "every 2 weeks". Until we've got something similar going, or until Community Warfare comes into play, it'll be a good interest keeper. Later, perhaps move it to monthly.

Prizes:
No MC or C-Bills. If PGI is offering anything to the winner, it should be a skin, s/he could use until the next tournament is over.

How often:
I voted for once a month, but to keep it something special, once every three months would be more appropriate.

As soon, as we know more about the future of this project, I will decide if I enter the competition.

Prizes should be 'fluff' of some description, cockpit items, skins, a framed certificate etc, as someone mentioned above, something that can show they are the winner until the next tournament.

i would suggest a skin that is mostly black with bright stylized flames on the legs and maybe around the arms just below the shoulders. give the winner the choice of say red, yellow, orange, or blue flames.

another alternative for the champion would be a SMALL (less than 3 inches tall) 3d print of their mech after the last match (repaired or not, the winner's choice), with the option to spend mc to print a larger one (since the larger it is in an unsponsored tournament the more expense... don't want it to be prohibitive to include something like this).

Once a month to keep it special, not to burn people out. Cockpit item or skin is nice, a SMALL amount of MC might be justifiable, or maybe just some premium time for the winners? Oh, and why wait till phase 3?

Reward the winners with a special skin, decal, or bobblehead. Do it once a month.

I do not even care if I win anything. Fame and glory is all I need!

Phase 2 should easily work. We can make unbalanced teams and match up against whoever we want.

I think it should be ran every 3 months or so. Every month seems like a lot of TbF tournaments, but that is just me.

Skins, Cockpit items and it they add it to the game insignias. Also I put down once a month but the way I see it would be a large multi round tournament that spreads over the course of a month preliminary rounds the first weekend and second followed by semi finals the 3rd weekend and the main even to Finals at the end of the month. Also I believe the finals of the tournament should consist of 3 rounds.

Later on once CW is added to the game the skins/insignias design could be influenced by the house that is sponsoring the tournament (Which should be a thing by the way)

MC or cosmetic items, for sure. Allowing nonpaying players access to a small (but meaningful) amount of MC will likely increase favor and reduce hostility toward paying players. Alternatively, new vanity items are always fun.

I am not aloud to comment on that just yet. :)

I see a lot of you guys asking for skins. That most likely won't be doable.

In that case then, maybe a spot on the front page of the website until the next winner.

Yes excellent idea. A little face time on the homepage for the winning team and a smidge of MC. All tho a unique skin or cockpit item that no one else could get but the winners would be sweet but to bad on the news about the skins. What about maybe a unique symbol by your name? Kinda like the founders symbol but will only last until the next champions

Anyone who wants it can get C-bills or MC, so I would go with what the rest have said. A skin or other cosmetic item that they can use. It can be a Trophy bobblehead (or just a trophy) to be placed in the cockpit.

I will have to note that the format is unusual with only 7 people in your team when most groups have been practicing with a full roster of 8 (prior to Phase 1 changes). The endgame screenshot should show who isn't in a Trial mech due to the XP gains so I am not sure if the referee is necessary.

I voted phase 2. I see no reason not to test or do a dummy run. From that, you could determine if the thing will run smoothly.

I also voted for all three reward options.

CBills are a good prize, helps to buy some game stuff.

MC are a great way of generating a lot of enthusiasm, real cash value is a drawcard. That said, the amount would have to be carefully judged.
Perhaps enough for one week premium or something.

Cockpit items, maybe a little trophy to put in your mech. Say a traditional looking cup.

A decal for your mech so others can see, something for the outside.

Hope this helps. :)

EDIT: Forgot, I voted 3 weeks, seems like a good compromise, and for now would be a fair amount of time for newer players to get a feel for the game.
