So I was up in my attic earlier today... Getting Christmas stuff out, and low and behold, it some of my old MPBT files, and when I dig to the bottom, what do I find, an old command roster and a bunch of HC Bios from February of 2000.

I know what you mean. was digging through some boxes over the weekend while snowed in and found a binder with the entire manual for MPBT:3025 printed out and all the mech data. I should scan it to a pdf and upload it for you nostalgiac folk.

New recruit signing up...

Handle: Durant Carlyle, as long as nobody else manages to get it first.
Last Rank: N/A
Last Regiment/Stable/Unit: N/A
MPBT Background: None on computer. Lots of TT and MegaMek, but nothing House-specific -- just having fun blowing up 'Mechs.
Time Zone: Central TIme, availability varies as I work in retail. I am a night owl, so count me in for late night hours for sure.
Interests: Piloting 'Mechs, likely in the scout role. Possible Lance or Company command, assuming there's not too much paperwork...

I got some 10 minutes to spare :) , so let's give this a shot...
  • In-Game Handle (if different from the registered name used for this site) - Wish I knew, not sure if that won't be linked to forum account automatically. In case of doubt I'll use my signature ID.
  • Last Rank - Depends on which BT/MW incarnation we're talking about. Not gonna list a dozen different ones.
  • Last Regiment/Stable/Unit - Same as above, but again in case of doubt I'll point to my forum sig.
  • What MPBT background do you have: GEnie, AOL, Kesmai/GameStorm, LineOne, EA, ISWars, and/or Other...including RPG Board Gaming as "Knowledge is Power"...and besides, you never know what might be needed (specify). - MSplay MP, PBEM (don't recall exact name there), LAN MP, MegaMek, TT, MW1-4, MechCom 1&2, CHI & CHR and prolly more stuff I just forgot now.
  • Time Zone and Time Available to Play (using your local time) - No fixed ones, working changing shifts FTL.
  • Interests: Piloting or Command (some are most comfortable in a Mech, while others love to burn the midnight oil) - Can't really say before we get more details about the meta-(command-)level in game.
Not the most helpful answers, I'm sure, but what else can one expect at this very early stage? :)

Meco here... I played on Gamestorm and ISWars for a bit. I believe my highest rank was that of RCo. Last unit was one of the MM's (sorry I forget) Matter of fact I still have 2 shirts that Kirby printed for us back during ISWars. :D

Greetings all... I am glad to be part of the Marik House and look forward to this game. I go way back, back to when BattleTech was a one box set. I've gone through the Clans, the novels, etc... many of the games. Have any of you been part of the StarLance league for the MechCommander games, back during Mplayer days? I was "Prowler" there, leader of the Ice Hellions for 3 years. While I have no intention of trying to be the leader here, I wouldn't mind working in the mid range leadership roles... I was longest serving Khan in Starlance, so you can say I am committed when I join a group.

I love strategy and hopefully this game will keep the "realism" (as far as realism goes according to the board game that is) at a premium rather than making it a twitch shooter like on a game console.

My main focus in the BTech computer games was always MechCommander, although I played the Mechwarrior games as well (1-4) and played online at Genie when it was like $1 a minute to play on a 2400 baud modem.

I am in Florida (USA) so I will be on generally 10pm-3am cause I am a night owl.

Anyways, I hope we can organize and take Marik far once the game comes out.

wow, it truly has been a while. the last time i had any experience with a mech was in the mech assault games back when lone wolf came out. I have little to know clue what is really happening, but i'm willing to learn. If the house will have me, i will swear on my grave to fight until the end. I may be new, but i'm no stranger to war.

along with that, if any vets see this, i would love a run down of what is happening in terms of what going on, and kinda help me to get on my feet in the community.

Welcome Zune and Alpha! As far as this game goes, we're really still waiting to see what/how things are implemented the way Houses will work so we have no real organization as of yet. If you want to learn about the FWL or battletech in general then I would recommend going sarna.net seeing as it has a lot of good information about the battletech universe.

The role in which you will set yourself in will be up to you. My experience with the FWL has always been of a casual professional. We usually don't make people pick roles and/or mechs, but that's not to say we don't mind losing though. We expect you to be good at what you do because it's your playstyle and it's how you enjoy the game. We do expect you to learn about mech tactics and to be civil to new people and willing to teach what you have learned without raging :).

If you have any questions at all please feel free to ask away and I'm sure one of us on here will be able to answer or at least point you in the right direction.

Welcome to the FWL!
