So. Many. Necros. What the hell is wrong with you people. Is this a new, cool "thing"?

I'm eagerly anticipating the flea. I don't pilot assaults, and I've never felt any particular devotion to the Northwind Highlanders, so I'm not too excited about the the jumping square mini-atlas, although it does fill a needed role as an assault with a bit of mobility.
I think the flea is going to be everything the Spider wasn't. Faster, able to carry more weapons, smaller profile, and they jump as well. If they make an ECM variant, I think we'll never see a Spider again. The flea is a good candidate for ECM, as only one of the variants listed on sarna carries missiles (and it's a rocket launcher 10)

With regard to Jump Jets, PGI seems to be restricting their availability to those variants that already had them.
The only canonical jump-capable Flea variant was the FLE-14, which was "an attempt to create an ultra-light BattleMech" and had a tonnage limit of 15 tons, rather than the standard 20 tons.
Personally, I would doubt that PGI is would add a variant with a different maximum weight from all of the others.
Referring to the Flea's Master Unit List page, I would imagine that the variants we'd likely get are the FLE-4, FLE-15, and FLE-17.
FLE-4
- STD 120 engine
- STD internal structure
- STD armor (2 tons)
- x10 SHS (x4 in engine, x2 in Right Torso, x2 in Left Torso, x1 in Right Leg, x1 in Left Leg)
- x1 Large Laser (Right Arm)
- x2 Small Lasers (Left Arm, Left Arm)
- x1 Flamer (Center Torso)
- STD 120 engine
- STD internal structure
- STD armor (3 tons)
- x10 SHS (x4 in engine, x2 in Right Torso, x2 in Left Torso, x1 in Right Leg, x1 in Left Leg)
- x2 Medium Lasers (Right Arm, Left Arm)
- x2 Small Lasers (Right Torso, Left Torso)
- x1 Flamer (Center Torso)
- x2 Machine Guns (Right Arm, Left Arm) w/ 1 ton of ammo (Center Torso)
- STD 120 engine
- MASC (Center Torso)
- Endo-Steel internal structure
- STD armor (3 tons)
- x10 SHS (x4 in engine, x1 in Right Torso, x1 in Left Torso, x2 in Right Leg, x2 in Left Leg)
- x2 Small Lasers (Right Torso, Left Torso)
- x2 Medium Pulse Lasers (Right Arm, Left Arm)
