And the guy that keeps talking about the 5.2 million... thats been talked about so much its not funny. Maybe if more of the threads were usefull and not just people crying you could find a few of them.

Did that statement about weekly patches mention Open Beta? It was certainly that way in the closed one (with delays), but for the past week the appropriate topic in the Developer's Corner -> Command Chair said next patch date is TBD.

Well - I don't want to let you down. But technically the game is in some state that's more pre-beta. If PGI would follow the usual pattern of milestones in software development, then beta must - and I mean it - have all functionality and features integrated in the game. Because: "Beta generally begins when the software is feature complete."
Ah and - I don't mind that there's no patch today. Just some fixes for all the issues like CTD and black screens would've been really nice.
For the record: Best alphas and betas I ever played: Guild Wars 1. That was one hell of a job the studio pulled of on that one. Maybe PGI could get some hints from them?

Wrong on sooo many levels, I don't really know where to being.
Oh wait, yes I do.
Go ahead and compare this beta with other games currently in beta. I dare you to take a look at their beta forums and tell me what it's like there. Let me assure you, there is WAY more people complaining about MWO than any of the other popular game betas right now (Firefall and PlanetSide 2 come to mind).
5 million is waaaaaaay more than they need to get started on such a simple game like this (yes simple, when compared to other free-2-play titles out there). Take a look at games like Star Citizen (currently on kickstarter), it only needed 2 million to get created and when they reached the higher $ goals they added TONS of more content per million funded. Waaaaaaaaayy more than MWO has right now.
Just in case people read this and don't want to do the research, Star Citizen is currently only a trailer and sales pitch, along with a website full of promised content that will supposedly be released sometime in 2014 or 2015. It was conceived by legendary game developer Chris Roberts (Wing Commander, Privateer etc.), which is one reason it got the money it did so quickly, but honestly it might well just be vaporware, it has zero playable content.
This game on the other hand has an excellent, playable framework for expansion into exactly the kind of mech-combat based community warfare the devs have talked about. Getting to this stage was probably the hardest part - once you have the framework for mech piloting, weapons, and maps, its easy to start cranking the content out - new maps, new weapons/tech, and new mechs. Even community warfare is essentially just a series of the matches we play now, although with different game modes and maps and goals.
This game isn't dead, thats ridiculous. We had a patch last week, followed by a hotfix. Last month we got a new freaking game engine and two new mechs. I'd wager that from now on, once the engine glitches (crashes, mem leaks) get worked out, that we start seeing more content getting released faster.

i love Mechwarrior and this franchise (maybe more as u believe), i love the feel of big giant stomping mechs and i love your game to, really, but for the sake of blake pls fixes soon if possibru the lagshield hitdetection and low fps bug and the other bugs. don´t be a foul and hotfix it ASAP. u dont need add content or make big patches but u need to hotfixes step by step. i think is ok if the game 2-4 time in a week off if u install "real patches"....means only fixes
its nice to know that u add more content in the upcoming content-patch is cool u know? but there are heavy gameplay affected bugs, most of my hits didn't detected right its hard for me to deal with and i a hardcore "bugresistent" gamer ^^ a greenhorn mwo player will not deal with the bugged gameplay in the game and quit soon.
just my 2 cent
rock on the game PGI, stop braking.

Well if I recall Tribes:Ascend was out of beta before they added practice area's, Clan tags, private servers and a few other major features that are now in the game. I guess they messed up also and did not follow your Beta rules....

You are giving them too much credit. Those programmers you speak of? Just interns man not even full fledged programmers.
The entire game just smells of amateurish effort in programming not to mention the entire team of web interns trying to publish contents that is full of typos. Seriously, no proof reading?

Lol, right after defending them to some degree, you're getting pranked by their bugged censorship (they admitted that it was screwed up...and on the list of things to fix).
I don't mean to pick on you personally (I can both agree it's getting pretty harsh in here AND agree that it's an easy situation to get legitimately P!$$'ed off at). But it still makes me think of someone yelling at a dog owner for hitting their own dog..then stepping in poop theirself and turning back to rage at the dog they just defended lol.

They should have spent more time on some patches.. yes. And we were complaining about that , because with the low amount of hotfixes and the effectivley bi-weekly patch schedule, a bug introduced with a patch was there to stay for a while. If they were sending out hotfixes on a daily basis, a new bug would not be a problem ( Of course this has other problems.. no modell is perfect. ).
And about those dev notes ( or the mysteriously vanisehd "upcoming features" thread) : the dates in there are in constant flux, and by now often seem like optimistic goals rather then actuall anouncements. A bit of moving around with the dates is to be expected with things in develpment, but it is realy happening a lot here.

Although I never spend money on this, the founders complaining do have all the right to complain they ever need.
And although the the fact that he told us there would be no patch today is a step forward, they way he did it was not very comunicative ( was there a last minute bug they needed to iron out? Did someone important for the making of this patch get sick? ...), and pretty late.
I regulary play lord of the rings online. And although they do have their problems, especialy with the newr areas, that are far more taxing to the 5 year old engine then the old ones, they do send out hotfices, regulary update the stickies known issues post in the forums, and most of all announce patches in advance. So that you know exactley when the server will be down. IF they take an hour longer then intended they say so. On facebook, twitter, the website, the forums and the news area of the launcher.
They are not perfect. And some minor bugs probably will stay in the game forever. But at least they comunicate.
And well..
http://mwomercs.com/...4-known-issues/ is a joke of a known issues thread. It does list two very important points, but is nowhere nere the amount of things that are repeorted all over the forums by tons of people.
And all the complaining seems to have had an impact: The fact that we are getting told there would be no patch at all is already an improvement, so are the new website and launcher.
EDIT: Of course these ARE frist world problems But this a forum concerning a computer game... so of course it´s not about people starving in large parts of the world or human rights.
