Implementing a third person view just caters to the lowest common denominator, the masses who will try the game and be discouraged by its complexity. We have voted overwhelmingly against it, and that there are more important things to fix. It does make you wonder whether PGI is getting an influx of tickets from OB downloaders who are clueless as to the mechanics of the game and are asking for a third person view.

That said, whether or not this feature will be implemented will have little effect on the sales of this controller. Although it looks like an amazing piece of hardware, it will likely sell very poorly due to its likely exceptionally high price due to the integrated screen, and the limitations placed upon itself by being useable in only one game.

I do but since they made a new forum certain threads have dissapeared. Like my 14 page thread on why they should just drop the TT table info entirely (which after 1.4 heat sinks they have imo)

It was just announced as a possibility and from what I have seen of the responses here on the forum there is a resounding (90% vote with thousands of people) asking PGI not to implement it for reasons best left in those threads. Although, i will explain another reason why this letter needed to be sent.
There was a time, not long ago, when Razer released the whole peripherals for a certain game called Star Wars The Old Republic, i, myself bought the collectors edition of the game, and the special keyboard as well.
I was very excited about it, and don't get me wrong i am NOT a frekin' millionaire, i work hard every day, and i do not have a big salary, i put my money asside like most of us, to get something a bit more expensive from time to time.

Now you all know what happened to Old Republic, the community asked for more content, way more pvp than just "Lets play huttball" etc etc...and the devs never listened to them, and kept the game in a single player mode state, with little or no real updates instead of adding crap that players didn't care about.
Next month, more than 750 000 players closed their accounts, the following week, 250 000 more.
Bioware had to close down 90%+ of their servers, and the game became a ghost game.
They went free to play right after that.
And guess what? I bought all my stuff for nothing. As i am not playing swtor any more, and left with everyone else.

I don't want the same thing to happen if i am to buy the Artemis controller.
I love MWO i came here for one reason, because i am a Mechwarrior Pilot, playing an immersive FPS.
Now that no one knows what PGI will truly do with this game.
We need answers, and real ones.

One way to do it is once the we get the ranking system (that is still part of phase 3 MM system) you could have the option open for rank say 1-5 (of for the sake of argument 100 scale) and after that it is disable for anything but friendly pre-made matches outside of the CW. That way you can still "warm" the newcommers up and get them familiar but without affecting the rest of the game. And you would give the people who like to make machianimas a better tool to do so.

I see no negative effects of this on the rest of the game.

And just because they were not the loudest group does not equal that they did not exist...

Ah shoot, just looked at the concept. If MWO takes off, I will have a difficult time resisting the temptation to pick this thing up, assuming it actually goes to market. However, won't it bring in charges of Pay2Win by having an expensive controller? I used to hear that at LAN games when using my goggles in MW2 games.

They will almost certainly be 1.4 DHS for clan mechs, as well as further balancing the clan tech down to be more equitable with IS equipment than what it was in lore for game usage and balance. We can debate this all day, but we will find out soon that this is most likely the situation when the clans arrive in game. Which makes you wonder how they are ever going to implement all those clan mechs if the mech release schedule is one per month?

If you're not part of 90% of us who said NO to 3rd person, its your choice.
But do not get on my case simply because i had to guts to write to Razer, when no one else did.
I did this for us to get ANSWERS once and for all, as 90% is a big number asking questions.

I've not voted one way or the other on 3rd person view... so tone your attitude down a tad... I just find it incredibly arrogant of you to think that you speak for 90% of the Forum community... because "you had the courage" to write a letter to Razer... who as was pointed out to you, have NOTHING to do with making the game...

Anyhow... you enjoy you Napolean complex if you want to... I'm going to go back to watching how the game gets developed and adapting to whatever the Devs throw at us... mainly because I'm having way to much fun finally having a MechWarrior game being developed after all these years...

Oh... on a side note... after your "mishap" with the SWTOR peripherals you say you bought... you might want to take a lesson from that and oh... I don't know... WAIT before buying the Artemis and see if MW:O really is for you... then, having waited and made an intelligent decision, then purchase the controller if/when it is released...

I am no fan of 3rd person view, but I sure as hell do not want you as my spokesperson, neither do I want you to write silly letters in my name.

Please live your hero complex at the forums, but do not try to be our saviour elsewhere. And when you try, simply speak for yourself and your opinion.
