Allow me to clarify two things:

It will be interesting to see how the devs handle people trying to break the system.

I mean, there's just so much potential for abuse here, especially with faction warfare and a map. Probably a lot of team killing going on as well.

Seriously people stop ******** about not getting a Beta invite. We've been waiting years for something like this to even surface! So just calm down the game will come out in not to long, (Compared to how long we've waited for a new Mechwarrior game) and then you can play to your hearts content.

C) Goons are making a metric *CRAPTONNE* of in game money (isk for those who don't know) by subsidising the "Hulkageddon" due to "Hi-Sec" mining dropping by almost 1/2 within the space of a week...

"Goons" as you call them *WILL* be in MW:O, they will play as a group, and they will (probably) be good at it... The *ABSOLUTE* worst thing you can do, is react to them... As was stated above, complaining only draws attention to you.

Now, all *I* hope for is that they don't become "OP" in WM:O as they are in Eve right now. They (and their "coalition") are the new 800 pound gorillas in that game.

I was about to start a wall of text then I remembered that I had other things to do this afternoon...

All I will say is that players breaking the NDA should get their Beta Key Revoked ASAP.

If I sign a contract with a company, I expect to honor my engagements and keep my mouth shut until being told otherwise.

Perhaps beta stress is creating conspiracy theories and others are getting bent over theories. Im sure the beta process has been random. I do kinda wish the odds and process info were posted earlier so people could set realistic expectations.

No. As much as I love Mechwarrior, as much fun as I've had over the years playing Batletech, the deal breaker for this game will be power gamer fanboys. If theres griefing, ghosting, TKing, mobbing, hacking, botting, and all of the other bs cheating that goes on? I quit. You know, I'll tolerate it on a limited basis - I understand life has its share of loosers and jerks, thats fine. But if it becomes part of the MWO culture, like it has with CS, I quit.

As to the actual topic? If (I have never had any desire to play EVE, and even less than zero now), this Mittens person is as much of a d-bag as is generally reported, then why are you taking it as anything but bragging that he's got a key? You give keys to people who arent hated in the community if you want advertising; drop one on Wil Wheaton, he's done his share of PAX and other gaming cons, and after playing Fawks on The Guild, he can even be forgiven for Wesley. I donno - this whole thing sounds like Internet hype - some dude who has a rather dubious claim to fame bragging that he plays a game. Golly.
