Were you being sarcastic when you wrote that? It's little more than a paragraph that includes the line "Seriously, look at that thing! It's freaking covered in missiles, jetpacks, shoulder cannons". I mean, you're write-up of the screen shots included more information than the article!

Wouldn't you be blinded when the LRMs fired after being ejected from the launcher? Also..aren't LRMs supposed to generate heat? How would it do so if the missiles weren't firing from the launcher itself?

I don't plan to continue the reality vs. game mechanics discussion, however, consider the gameplay implications of more smoke. Smoke contrails are like arrows pointing back to the shooter, and a cloud at the launcher would make a pretty bulls-eye. Smoke effects also have a real bad habit of dragging down FPS even on solid gaming rigs. Imagine a merc lance of 4 Cats crest a ridge way out in front of you, and more or less simultaneously launch flights of LRMs at you. A beautiful and horrifying sight that I wouldn't want to experience at 5 FPS...

While frustrating... It would almost be worth it to see a flight 90 missiles peak and drop directly into your cockpit. Yeah... I know it's a sick and perverse thing... Kind'a like rubber-necking at the scene of an accident.

I agree with Aegis on this. Also make the missiles a bit thicker, they look like paper made planes.
Now for the Cat, looks brilliant. Simplying an amazing job. However I won't be piloting this girl as my friend wants to be fire support.
Yeah. Right now, they look like little firecrackers and with there being no smoke behind them, I'd expect them to go "wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and *pop* rather than WHOOOOOOOSH and BOOM!

As for the missile silos being longer I actually am LOVING that look. It gives the chassis a mean and aggressive stance.
Man, if the Timberwolf is going to take similar design cues from what they did with the Catap, I CANNOT see myself being disappointed with it.
The silos opening before a salvo and closing afterwards is freaking icing on the cake.

Seeing a Mech move at varying speeds with an appropriate "weight" to its gait is crucial, especially at running speeds. When it gets hit by weapons, does it lurch in the right direction? Does the crouch look good? Tandem animations with jump jets?
I hope that the "fall on your face/back" animation we saw in footage was just a placeholder to more realistic and natural death "sequences" (not pre-canned solutions).
If their animations are on par, this is going to do WONDERS for reality immersion.

That is a great looking model. Definatly has changed my mind about the catapault............
You can see the shots have had something done to them, they look a little "blurred" somewhat I think.......

The textures on the terrain also seem pretty decent res and look good, I like.
We need some shots like this of the Atlas and the others......now now now !!!!
