Death match is NOT going to fit in well with the Meta game, as in, its a square peg to the CW/Meta Games ROUND hole.

Capture and Hold/Conquest - hopefully the idea being that people actually have to fight to take over and hold control points on the map...

Yes but in BT, generally one force is dropped to capture an objective while a defending force is dispatched to stop them. There are not 2 bases. There is 1 attacker, and one defender. Any other time its just a fight in an open field with no bases at all, just a plot of land to conquer.

is exactly how I try to 'fight' my battles. Will I open up and rip you apart, yes. IS that my preferred way? NOPE. Especially once I join up with Clan Wolf, and fight as a TRUEBORN. As a Wolf, my goal is to reach Terra and guide humanity to its sanity again, not obliterate it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but at it's core this game isn;t really different from CoD. CoD's main game mode is really a one-life team elimination mode centered around planting a bomb (haven't really played since CoD4 other than the free weekends). BF3 actually has far more tactical depth to it than this game because of the required coordination of land, sea, and air units, with multiple people required to utilize the vehicles effectively and additional support roles that wouldn't even apply to Mechwarrior. RTCW had far more tactical elements to the game than this. Chivalry Medieval Warfare is now carrying the RTCW torch, and that was done by a 7 man virtual team that was self funded and released to critical acclaim after about a year of development. CMW even has a last team standing mode without a capture, but because it doesn't have an economy that rewards cowardice and punishes honor and sacrifice, people will fight it out rather than run and hide.
One of my biggest peeves is the "Don't kill the last player, let's cap it instead" mentality. That the capturing team gets more points than if they had just eliminated the other players is stupid to me and shows that people are worried about money than gameplay. This also seems to be the underlying complaint of those upset with Phase 1 MM, because they are losing matches which loses them money. I prefer a game where the journey is the fun and is virtually independent of the outcome.

No, your job in a battle is follow orders. or give them if your the leader. And team death match works perfectly fine for the purpose of capturing planets, It worked for MW4 for 10 years. Still works just fine. This system will actually fail when it comes to community pillar. Baserush Online..... until they make a change, thats what the game will be, baserushing is the metagame currently, and its dumb.

I'm still not sure why you think base rushes are so common. Out of every 300 games that I play I only come across a pure base rush a few times. It's that rare for me.

Teralitha, I follow those orders that make sense. If I am ordered to disregard sound tactical moves in order to pad my CO's ego, then, I shall ignore the order. I do not enjoy Death Matches, nor will I ever. I need more to do than <especially right now when it is nearly impossible to make ANY money if you take even MINOR DAMAGE> kill everything that isnt flying my teams flag. Sorry, but, as Sun Tzu said: To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.
-Sun Tzu, the Art of War
Teralitha, you seem fond of something known as a Pyrrhic Victory. That is a long term NO WIN strategy. If I can get a victory w/out a shot fired, all the better. period.

it does. she really should go there, play that. THAT is TDM all the time. It is what she seems to want, a mindless mech shooter with 0 tactical skill.

no, there is no contradiction.
Yes Tera, you do have a contradiction. I hate to break it to you, but you do. Team A must hold real estate (ie planet's resources), Team B must maintain a foothold or lose all hope of escape (dropship, MFBs, which were the ENTIRE point of the MW3 campaign story). Sounds like a cap game to me dude.
