Hmmm... yes, i know the "12 mech coming in the game, with 3-3-3-3 scheme (3 light, 3 medium, 3 heavy and 3 assault)" is called many times as rumor, but this mech is fit well in that scheme. We have the 3 light (Commando, Raven and Jenner), we have the 3 med. (Cicada, Centurion and Hunchback), we wait one more heavy (after the Dragon and Catapult) and one assault (after the Awesome and Atlas).

Yes, (big) if when the rumor is correct. :(

Anyway, this mech looks good, and i'm await when we can see it on the battlefield!

My question is are they gonna put the MLs in the arms (like all the art and design shows) or in the torsos where the tech readout says they go. It's always struck me as odd that it has flippable arms with no weapons in them.

And yes, first thing to do is to drop the speed a tiny bit and up-armor it, or get a slower PPC variant and swap the MGs and ammo for arnor.

Chick-ah-dah.

I always thought it was "sick-kay-duh", like the insect.

From dictionary.com: (sɪˈkɑːdə)

EDIT: I was trying to reply to the front page thread and got re-directed here.

Also, great job again with the redesign, FD!

I've always pronounced the Mech as "See-kay-dah".

Strap on some High Explosives and it can be "Al-kay-dah". BA BA BOOM!

Nice word play there, and *explosion* WTH WAS THAT? Sir we've got a Cicada at the front gate... sh*t.

its a bug, it makes that funny chirping noise, its a cricket.
maybe the crude and vulger approach to naming it, but we don't see much need for detailed labeling of most bugs.
of course some bugs need a little detail.
that bug over there is an ant and is anoying but not dangerous except in large groups.
that bug over there is a racoon and is funny as hell to watch.
that bug over there is a black bear and will probably stay away from us, but lets break camp anyway and start loading the truck.
that bug over there is a grizzly bear, get in the truck and we'll come back in a while and see what parts of our camp he decided to leave behind.

that bug over there is a see-kay duh, a small mech that will run over our butts in the truck so lets just put out the fire, sit tight and hope it doesn't see us.

Uhh.... what about that? *points to a Kodiak battlemeh* (seriously the above comment is so true, and I was ROFLing when I read that)

I'm thinking about starting a running tally on the amount of people who try to correct Garth and obviously haven't read the rest of the thread. Any takers?

Yep, did not see this one coming. Surprise!

Love the artwork, and I have to give Kudos to FD and anyone else involved in the design process. I am so ^$#%^ impressed with the design decisions. Looking at the Cicada and the Awesome and the change from the originals is fairly minimal, IMHO, because they really don't need it ,and they look GREAT! There isn't the overriding need to change things for change sake. And yet, like in the case of the Centurion, where they feel a fairly major overhaul is needed, they don't shy away.

Great work guys, as always.

That being said, the Cicada? Pfffthppp oversized, fat Jenner. It's 5 tons heavier than a Jenner, and yet the engine is 10 tons heavier to do an extra 11kph. Eh, second line 'mech. Could have waited after other Medium 'mechs <cough> Kintaro <cough> <cough> :(

Looks incredible! Like the fluff piece too.

Guess we will see if it has advantages over the Jenner in terms of modules or hardpoints.

Cheers.

Like the art work, but not the mech...so many better choices could have been released in my opionion. Would loved to see a medium with jump.

faster, but less weapons than the Jenner... it's definitely one of my top 3 as far as artwork is concerned, but looking through the 3025 TRO, it has no more armour than the Jenner. I don't see the point? Unless the devs let it hold an obscene amount of modules... :(

Yay! I really hope light Mechs can live up to their reputaion - nimble, hard to hit and with great acceleration and top speed. Eridani Light Horse, anyone? I would join a light lance if it meant we could be useful in a scenario like this!

I suspect we will all be starting off in the smaller Mechs, anyway. May as well learn to like them and use them to the best of their potential! :(
