The tone exists, among the critics, mainly due to the blind 'nad-gargling that they get for responses. The "garglers", as I shall now refer to them, post such illogical and puerile statements/arguments, that you can't help getting frustrated with the idiocy. This leads to more and more sarcasm, condescension and hateful posts.

To the "garglers": The critics, whom you attempt to ankle-bite, want this game to succeed more than you do. Please stop "cupping" for a day, and actually take a look at their proposals.

Kunae... I love you buddy, but calling those who disagree with you offensive names does not help. It only makes the problem worse and ensures they will never see your side of things because all they see is the insult; the rest is ignored.

Tone it down a bit.

As far as I can tell the anonymous nature of 4chan does one thing. Makes it a place that attracts immature people that I never want to deal with like flies to scat.

I'm sure there's plenty of value there. But anonymity does not bring out good qualities in humans. As far as I can tell, it takes the little a-hole deep inside of them, gives it ***, some meth and a keyboard.

Not to say everyone that posts on 4chan is an immature horrible person. That's just the image I have ingrained in my head from the hoards of immature horrible people I've seen quoted on there. And the fact that I've NEVER met a single person that identifies themselves by that site to have redeeming qualities.

I'm quite sorry you feel that way. And frankly it's why many people follow rules 1 and 2 about "not talking about 4chan." Is exactly because of this.

It has to do with "Enforced Internet Autisim" and the "GIFWT" [greater internet fu$(wad theory] which is a known problem. Really though, the anon nature of the website can actually, be productive at times to discussion, as odd as that sounds.

Is it still the most "wreched hive of scum and villany" this side of Mos Eisley? Oh god yes. But that doesn't change the fact that it IS a force in these kinds of things.

We are a bunch of raging lunatics and, well, @$$#0|3$ for the most part.

I'm sorry, but we are.

This is an incredibly toxic community. The amount of nerd rage I see posted on a daily basis - and yes, I've probably been guilty of it myself - is staggering.

You've just described the internet culture as a whole. It's not just this game. It's pervasive and all-encompassing. People in large groups suck. People in large groups who can rage anonymously suck even worse.

That is precisely my point.

The post was made as an example. Whichever side of a discussion you are on, using insults, even mild ones such as "golds", founders(when used as an expletive describing a group), puggers, noobs, pre-mades, "elite", and other seemingly innocuous words, used in a derogatory context, only make these boards devolve.

Stop it. Everyone.

Don't attempt to "put down" your opponents using some intended to be insulting phrase. It doesn't help anyone.

Sorry dont agree one iota. They make their choices based on what the money dictates not what a bunch of people on a forum talk about. If they did they wouldnt be even talking about 3rd person and we would still be in closed beta. So please we need more stroking pgi threads about as much as we need flaming ones. If you feel you need to take the blame do so but dont be this high and mighty sage telling us all we need to be talking to pgi like they were a socially innept child with suicidal tendancies. Sure we can take more tact but really if they cant mentally filter through the crap then maybe they need help too.

Is calling a group of "pick up group" players a PUG insulting? I thought it was just an acronym for Pick Up Group. *shrug* I've never meant it as an insult at the very least, hopefully no one has ever taken it in such a manner.

It's all about the context, man.

Almost any word can be used as an insult, if couched properly.

If get it right, you want a bunch of people in a game forum to be resonable and contructive.
Are you really serious?
If this is your effort here, I congratulate you.

Now the facts by a reasonable me: PGI is doing a good work improving the game and balancing things. Lots of features are still to be implemented but they are folowing a roadmap and adding content accordingly. People complaining about unbalance, netcode, crashes and so on does not help at all, since all of this is being worked on every day and developers are really trying to make the game enjoyable and profitable, making everyone happy in the process.

And now facts by forum me: Fix this crap game. Jenners with ECM exist only because devs play as Jenners. How come my game still has yellow screen of death? My mech looks so beautiful with banners and bobbleheads at 4 FPS. When will they nerf streakcats?

The "forum me" is more funnier and get more attention.
So what do you expect?
;) :D

My Grandpa "meant no offense" when he called black people @#$%ers...

If a term has become seen as offensive, it is offensive, period. Regardless of intent, though obviously "accidental racism" is better than "intentional racism" to an extent.

And Kunae, I must have misunderstood your post - I was kind of flabbergasted to be honest at what you had said after the more or less conversational tone of this thread. My apologies if you were merely making a point.

No worries, man.

I find that shock tactics are useful to emphasize a point, at times. If people react strongly to an idea, it spurs the thinkin juices and gets them to pay more attention to the topic. ;)

I'm a pug sometimes, and in a premade others. I never felt insulted by either term, it's the TONE of a message that can insult. Noobs is meant to be insulting. Getting called a Founder isn't bad, until I hear the "You're just a wallet warrior doing PTW!" bit. Fanboy is always meant in an insulting way. Some things are always bad, others depend on context.

Yep, and I can't say you're wrong, but it doesn't matter which one post things here, devs will keep working following their roadmap and people will keep complaining here in the forum.

And most important, I have fun trolling.

For those interested, my reasonable "me" already made a thread of support to PGI, a serious thread (http://mwomercs.com/...age__p__1381488), and that's how I feel about the game.

;) :D

This community isn't toxic, its just rabidly passionate.

I agree people get way too invested in the matchmaking and balance issues, as they are so temporary.

But they are using this to try and justify selling out and shoe horning in 3rd person to sell camo and ruin the game for the vets.

We HAVE to put our foot down on third person, they are so obviously DESPERATE to include it against the entire community's wishes its pathetic.

I would like to point out that if the community was just passionate they wouldn't jump down someone's throat and call them lovely things like "fanboy" for disagreeing. The community is also very immature, irrational, and often ignorant. You can hold proof of something in their face and they'll straight to your eye tell you you're wrong or say something about your naivety as if they are some paragon from high. Just go look at the damn 3rd person feedback thread. It actually made me a little sick.

Term used in tons of online games, not offensive. There seem to be a lot of older gents on these forums who just aren't used to internet culture at all. (Its no big deal you just can't let anything online bother you)

Yeah that thread DOES make me sick! Thousands of fans crying out against 3rd person and the devs are still trying to force it on us to sell Camo!

There will always be people making personal attacks in any discussion, this happens as much in face to face debates as it does online.

I believe the only reason it happens more online is because in person people are AFRAID TO DEBATE IN THE FIRST PLACE.
