1 Volley of LRM 20s, 1 Guass/AC20 hits, little over 2 SRM6 hits, 3ish solid Large Laser hits, 1 acknowledment that I exist from a Streakcat, any of those will end a Commando.

Yea, no lock on ECM and the other weapons are defeated by lagshield.

Generally speaking, when in one of my Commandos, I am afforded 1 mistake before I die, Ill survive being raked by a few lasers a few times, but any hard hit and I am gone, heck, Ive been killed by a Guass shot that missed my teammate and stray LRMs that broke their lock on someone else.

Well, that's just the nature of the game, it doesn't change the fact that a 25-ton mech is more than a match 1-on-1 with most heavies.

This is as it should be. You're meant to work together. The commando is a lot less of a match for these things 2v2 if the heavies focus on the guy circling his buddy rather than ineffectively trying to shoot the guy close to him.

This is why IRL big ships travel with escorts that can protect them from small enemy ships that could be devastating if they got close.

How again are they buffing Jenners next patch OP?

By the way, I am looking forward to your "nerf ravens and commandos" thread later this week. ;)

Looks like I did not have to wait that long. ;)

Nothing; it was "magically" missing before. That's WHY I BUILT THE STREAKCAT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Oh! You just can't hit what you try and shoot at. Makes sense. I thought there was a problem, but it turns out you just need to work on your aim.

lol@ building streakcat instead of practicing aiming, and then crying when ecm comes out.

I play a commando-2d with streaks and it's fun as hell, but honestly I'm not hard to kill at all, time your shots, wait till I run into something. I mean speed is the only defense a commando has 2 shots from anything above smalls and I'm toast. When i play my heavy/assault i love fighting commandos 2 good shots and its a free kill, i find jenners MUCH worse than any commando i've ever fought.

2) Even with normal SRMs, because of the lag, fast-moving mechs are ALWAYS somewhere other than where they appear to be on my screen. I literally CANNOT hit them with lasers, SRMs, AC, etc. Even if my comp shows a hit, it won't have done any damage to them.
You can tell when you hit them when the crosshairs go red, you know?

Shoot ahead of fast moving targets when moving across your vision, and shoot directly at them when they're moving towards or away from you.

Try to compensate by taking a faster engine and sweeping your lasers over the enemy mechs to hit them; to practice, get a TAG and sweep the enemy lights until the crosshairs go red. This will show you how far in front you need to aim to hit them.

Usually at with them at a 90 degree angle to you, you need to aim about 1-2 jenner widths ahead of the enemy.

Do you really think every single gamer in this game can't hit enemy jenners? If that were so no-one would play anything but Jenners and streakapults. It really is not impossible to hit them, now all you need to do is stay 180 meters away from any ECM equipped mech, or perhaps practice shooting more.

I really wouldn't call 32 total fromt/back CT armour strong at all. Laser them a bit, and watch the armor go orange fast.

Yea, about this ECM....

I bought a Commando. It's not really my style, but playing a moving target for mechs that I have no way to shoot back at effectively is not my idea of a good time.

I tried to play my Catapults, but neither the A1 streakcat, the C4 Artemis, or the K2 guncat can manage to hit a Commando even once before they kill me.

You have to wonder about a game where the heavier, more expensive mechs are the least powerful.

Well the lighter mechs flat out OWNED in the hands of skilled pilot in MechWarrior 3 and that game was successful.

Oh, yea, it must just be me; never mind that I can show 2xGauss hitting a Jenner in the cockpit and wind up with 0 damage for the round, it's just bad aim.

Maybe try playing this game, then come back and comment.

Yes, thank you for explaining BASIC AIMING IN EVERY FRIGGING GAME OUT THERE; I'VE NEVER TOUCHED A COMPUTER BEFORE, RIGHT?

No, I CAN SHOW A HIT, BUT GET ZERO DAMAGE. LITERALLY THE ONLY WAYS FOR ME TO KILL A JENNER ARE WITH GUIDED WEAPONS OR IF THEY STOP FOR 3 SECONDS.

After several rounds of testing the Space Pope still finds the Commando to be the "Iron Coffin" mech of MWO.

Even the ECM variant is an easy foe to dispatch.

A shame, the Holy Space See has blessed us with the ability to kill all forms of commandos with ease. :P

Though of course I must thank Space Jesus for aiding me in my battles.

The Space Pope is pleased by this work of art, he would like to extend his warm congratulations and regards.

Perhaps when we are re-painting the Space Sistine Chapel, we will commission you to paint a ceiling or two.

Strange, I'm having quite the opposite experience; aside from running into a Jenner in one match, and 2 enemy ECM mechs in another, my Commando is doing quite well.

As a Jenner pilot I will (reluctantly) offer some advice - don't just alpha-strike the moment a light comes near your cross-hairs. Use cycle fire (4MLas can give you constant firing for very little heat) so that you're getting many little hits - that'll often be enough to make them break away looking for cover. Save heavier weapons and alpha strikes for when they are moving directly away or towards you (as long as you work as a team this will happen for somebody quite often) or when they have run in to a wall (seriously, try running at 150kph whilst looking directly to your left or right).

lead your targets, bro. Adapt.

Maybe its just my diablo 2 background kicking in, where desync was actually involved in complex strategies and used as a game mechanic, but I haven't even noticed the desync in this game until people pointed it out. My brain just adjusted automatically the second I realized what was happening(which took less than two games).

I'm glad I switched off my Streakboat(frankly I was bored) for my 6 medium laser Jenner a month ago.
