Example:
F2P: Coolant (1), Coolant (2), Airstrike (1), AirStrike (2)
P2W: Coolant (3), Airstrike (3), Module 1, Module 2
--------------------------
This is what people are mad about. The model that this mechanic is completely over powered. PGI promised it will never turn into a P2W game, but it keeps towing the line little by little.
So? That isn't P2W, that's convenience. This is not a ballance changer. These are minor buffs. I don't hear people raging out that I make 80% more cbills than they do per match because I have a job.

This is actually more imbalanced than that example, because most mechs have 2-4 module slots, meaning that the MC one giving you 100% better slot efficiency than the CB one is a much, much bigger deal. And the problem will only become worse and worse as more consumables are added in. Want both Coolant Flush and Airstrike? Better be prepared to spend dem monies, son, because otherwise, you're going to be at a significant (and objectively measurable) disadvantage to someone who spent MC.

It isn't P2W. If it was only available to MC players, then yes.
Otherwise, it's the same people bitching about the same stuff they ***** about all the time. Wait and see what happens over the next few weeks.
The problem is that the large coolant takes 1 module slot, while to get a similar effect c-bill players need 2 module slots.

Guess who's got the upper hand (assuming relatively equal skill level).
I admire your effort to reason with a troll.

C-Bill version is TWO USES at 35% for TWO SLOTS
Considering you can't actually equip two of the MC version, if you're in a mech that actually needs coolant flushes, the c-bill version is the clear winner.
CBill version is 2 uses because it's two separate modules. 1 use is 15% other use is 20%. It's worse.

To me it seems like consumables for MC is ought to increase micro-payments to get a steady stream of real money bearing the costs for servers and so on (new content will most likely lead to a pike of income, e.g. people buying mech bays).
Premium time looks to me to be intended to do that, yet you can get the same effects (more XP, more C-bills) just by playing more. And playing is fun - at least, it should be the fun part, not farming.
There are already quite some folks raging about consumables. Let's instead, as a community, try to help keeping this game up and free from any P2W - constructively. There's already the what-would-you-pay-for thread (just learned cross-linking is a violation of COC wtf), but as far as I see that thread is more about "what I'd like to have and even pay for, once".
Please share your ideas how we could support PGI with micro-payments, say less than $2.
So, some quick suggestions as an example:
- A "hero mech" like e.g. Timber Wolf (but not as iconic) that you can only play for MC, paying a certain amount for each match. It should be balanced like hero mechs currently are, so when you see it on the battlefield: "Yeay! Nice mech, wanna play it too! It just looks cool." (Urbie?
) And you get a hilarious ride once in a while for $1 or even less, like AC/20 raven. You could even release new mechs in this mode first, and some weeks later to be bought regularly. - Fireworks on destructions (kill or death). May even be a consumable, but shouldn't take up module slots
- pinball mode with flashing lights, killing spree announcements and so on
WAIT! Before responding, pls don't focus on my silly 5-min suggestions. Thanks!
(btw: I'm always ending up with 50 MC from buying MC and then buying mech bays. Could use some micro-payment stuff other than paint jobs and XP conversion

Wait and see gets us ECM which a disproportionate amount of players dislike rather than like, with the devs not acknowledging an issue.
Wait and see gets us an easy execute exploit to skip maps you don't like, that has existed since closed beta.
Why would ANYONE wait and see with this dev team?
I haven't even bothered to log in to play tonight.
Then why are you still around?

"Founders Mechs are PTW!"; Nope, didn't happen.
"Hero Mechs are PTW!"; Nope, didn't happen.
Been around here much too long to start panicking now. Grab a towel. Don't Panic.

But now, this coolant flush thing just puts the cap on it. You just tainted the game with pay-to-win sauce because of your poor design sense.
I don't care that you can buy TWO modules with c-bills that do the same thing as ONE module with MC. If it only takes up one module, it is directly better than two modules.
There are other modules that you are putting into the game... that also require these module slots.
Why don't you just make 'Gold' double heat sinks that actually dissipate double heat... and cost MC to purchase?
You basically already sold the game out. Might as well just suck it up and go all the way.
Congrats Paul. Way to go.
*golf clap*
PS: Yes, it's another topic, but Paul shot himself (and everyone who supported PGI ever) in the foot with this debacle.
