No, I only know about programming, IT and network systems, game design, history, English, creative writing and character development. Certainly not sharp enough to grasp that this entire thread is a huge "forget Battletech, just make us another modern warfare where death doesn't matter and 6 story tall death machines are as common as paper mache!" rant.

:P

People who are being sarcastic except they aren't sarcastic they are DEAD SERIOUS amuse me. You are one of them.

TDM = team wins when kill counter reaches 8.

Is it too late to make this thread productive and turn it into an anti-ECM rant?

No, you'll have to either make another ECM rant, or join the 500,000,000 that already exist.

Don't say that. They can smell the confusion they stir by making points and then refuting them in the same post! Best to use the search feature and move on. Only thing to see here is some Activision lovers trying to spread the foul ***** :P

Oh, I'm so tickled that ***** is censored :)

Oh good, it's not too late.

I hate ECM because it's overpowered.

There we go.

I'm not very good at this ranting business.

Are you projecting or something? because most of your posts have been mishmashes of crap that refutes its self every other point and if taken as a whole is meaningless garbage.

I agree with some of the previous posters who think it should be implemented as a solaris arena event. If I were to make said event I would have it run one day a week at different times each week and have participants pay to enter the event and have the event pay out 80% of the cbill total collected and it would be single elimination and bracketed. This would be a needed money sink for the more advanced players and give them a chance to battle in a interesting and different way. Bragging rights and all that.

If TDM came to pass as just a regular map that you could choose to play or not play you might dilute the players into more brackets and thus increase wait times for everyone. It could certainly be tested to check though.

No sir. the rest of us do not want TDM. You made a faulty generalization. If I wanted that i think i'd just go play that other game.

You seem to think that I dont want you to have your game. While you sir, just flat out refuse to let me have mine. We can have both modes of play. There is ZERO reasons why not. None... zip, zilch. Assault mode and TDM can exist at the same time.... whoa... you didnt think of that did you.... dude... its like.. an epiphany. its like... ben franklin discovering electricty.

If both game modes were in play right now, I will bet dollars to donuts that the assault mode would be empty and everyone would be playing TDM, except you.

You know what the real difference is between base caping and TDM really is? Base caping gets old and stale, TDM never gets old.

But there is a reason! Captain Midnight says we cant! And his rule is law. Even Bryan Eckman bows to his knowledge!

The most compelling reason for him to have his opinion is that if given the choice between his mode of play (assault) and a reasonable mode of play (TDM) no one would choose assault and he would not get to play.

S3dition for example realizes that if everyone had a choice between TDM and Assault there would be no such thing as assault, and he can't stomache actually getting good so he is instead on the forums advocating against TDM.

So thats what its really about... he just wants ppl to play with. Well that is just sad.... because before too long, the game will get really dull and boring and no one will play anymore. TDM will actually save the game. there that thing about dynamics again... and how assault mode lacks it. just know its been predicted, and when it comes to pass that no one plays anymore, you will know why it happened.

Yeah. Like in BF3, where all the servers are now TDM servers.

Whait, no, actually nearly noone plays TDM. Because it sucks.
