Forest colony - I was piloting a Jenner with 2 SSRM2 and 4ML. Already a little banged up from fighting a raven, I went in search of new prey, and came across an awesome just as he was killing one of my teammates. We were similarly colored, damage wise, and got into a circle fight. Couldn't get behind him, but stayed outside of his range of fire enough that I figured I had a good change. Then he blows my right leg off with a lucky ppc shot, and I figure I'm done for. Desperately, I start jump-jetting like there's no tomorrow, and somehow manage to stay alive for another 20 seconds or so. He fires his PPCs, and overheats just as I'm passing in front of him. Both our center torsos are red at this point. I fire my SSRMs - not enough. My heat is high enough, that firing even a single ML at this point will cause me to shut down, and he'll blast me to smithereens the moment he powers up. I decide to risk it, take aim, and fire all 4 MLs. The next quarter second seemed to last forever. As my lasers hit, I see him power up again. Milliseconds later, my lasers still firing I can see my hud start to switch off, and at the very moment everything shuts down, I get the kill. Seriously, must have been by only a single point of damage.

But that's not what makes it my favorite kill. What makes it my favorite is that as I power up, I see an atlas and a catapult walking past me, either unaware of me, or just ignoring me, and like a fool, I decide that with my single leg and red center torso I'm going to attack. MLs into the back of the Atlas. SSRMs fly at the Catapult. They notice and turn to face me. Jump jets! I leap in to the air...and land right in front of the Catapult just in time for him to hit me with his medium lasers. But somehow still alive. Continue to jump around, praising whatever high ping is allowing me to survive. This distracts them long enough for my remaining teammates to show up, and I start to bounce away, desperate for my life, dead teammates cheering me on over chat. Allies manage to destroy the Atlas and Cat, and at the end of the match there wasn't a single part of me that wasn't destroyed or red. Don't think I've ever finished a match so close to death without actually being dead. Had three kills, and top damage for my team.

Happened today. I was the last on my team and the rest of the enemy just started to focus on me. A commando with ECM was circling me and I managed to catch him just at the end of my traverse with two SRM 6s and just wrecked him. Never saw so many component destruction pop with with a kill.

Two nights ago, I was capping and was the only one left on my team. The other team lost just one. A hunchie showed up to try and stop the cap. I didn't even move, he stayed in front of me and we exchanged blows...he lost and then I stole the win by cap out from under the other team.

What moment, round, or kill has been the best of your MWO experience?

Mine was last round. We're on Caustic, I get the 4FPS bug, so I stay back at base to prevent ninja cap. Three minutes into the round, my entire team has been steamrolled, and they move to capture. I sit beside our base in hopes of retaining my 'mech if they're smart and want more money. Jenner shows up and ignores me.

Then the rest of the team arrives and starts piecing me. Left leg - gone; left arm - gone. Now their whole team is capturing besides a lone Dragon who just keeps shooting my CT. Once I get to red armor, I've had enough, I alpha strike, and he immediately dies. They all open fire. Two seconds later, they've captured base, I have the only kill on the team, and I'm alive. It was the most satisfying slideshow I've ever watched.

Last night in my quad ppc+4 SRM4's+2 med pulsers Stalker 3F.

Got 6 kills in the map.

First four were all headshots. I couldn't believe it but they came in a single file... catapult in the rear, dragon in front of it, stalker in front of the dragon and a hunchback in the lead.

Catapult first.. POW cockpit quad-ppcd.
Aimed a bit to the left... POW dragon falls dead, headless.
Let the PPC's cool till I could fire again..the Stalker for some reason stopped and was aiming at something (not me) which gave me a perfect shot.. POW it tumbles over..

Hunchback at this point is like 200m from me and is rushing me and firing at me... My PPC's were really hot so I let loose the SRM4's and quad pulsers... POW he tumbles dead at my feet. Without a head. No clue how that one happened.

Last 2 kills were an atlas and a commando... Commando was running around my team-mates 400m away and he hit a terrain wall and for that critical split second when his netcode exploiting speed got dropped my PPC's found his soft little butt and blasted him till next friday.

Atlas was engaged with one of our awesomes 300m from me so I went in a little closer to use my short range ordnance...and at around 150m the atlas's backside was beautifully flat towards me and I let loose all weapons... POW his left torso blows off and his XL along with it. WIN.

Most satisfying and stalker-y wins Ive had. I even got to splat an ecm netcode exploiter when his bad driving dropped his exploitspeed down ..yay!

I find MWO boring, even when I have multiple games with 7 kills each, I do not find them memorable. The most memorable kills for me all happened during league play in MW4.

1. I was trying out a missile boat build with my Stalker 5S + 4x LRM-15s.

Being slow, I was lagging behind the team on caustic valley and a spider got behind me and started shooting me with his 4 MGs. I kinda panicked but then realised how pathetic MG are...so I proceeded with my mission.

By the time he'd got my armour to red I had melted 3 of his teammates including an Atlas and a Cataphract, then my team showed up and killed the spider FTW :)

Total damage done was around 1k! The missile boat build is kinda silly and often gets ruined by ECM completely, but when it works, it works!

2. Trading missiles with an enemy Stalker in the same build. He was firing LRM-5s which got shot down completely by my 2xAMS, while my 60 missiles tore through him in short order.

3. Commando walking around the corner right into 2 Gauss rifles and getting one shot.

Had to be my zen day towards the end of closed beta.

I had a double gausscatapult and I shot the head off a Awsome at about 800m I then pop a hunch in the leg were he was hiding ammo for a second kill. At the end of the battle 4 mechs went down 2 from head shots.

It was a zen momment.

Most kills I manage in my 3 MPL 5D spider feel pretty good, honestly, but there's one incident I will never forget.

Forest colony, conquest, everyone on our team but me was destroyed, and the enemy team was left with a dragon, a centurion and an atlas. Moving onto theta I see them and promptly open the atlas's back armor after JJ'ing out of cover. I circle around in zig-zags using my JJs to pull trick turns, in tandem with my lagshield I wasn't being hit by anything but the centurion and his LBX. I approach the atlas, JJ right over him, pull a mid air turn on his backside, and finish off his core.

Next, I disarm the LBX on the centurion because his arm was already wounded from the battle previously, so he's not a threat and I move on the dragon. The dragon's armor was already red and he was out of ammo, tracing me with his medium lasers as best as he could muster, but I did the JJ leap and reverse shot tactic again and open up the center torso. A few more times, and the dragon's down.

The only one left is the armless centurion, which I began twisting around... but it's getting close, the counter is about to break 700 for the enemy team. The cent still has yellow CT armor and besides his arms was quite healthy, making a futile attempt to hit me with his torso lasers. After more dancing, I eventually pick open his CT, and just as I'm about to spin around on him for the final blow, the counter ticks 750... the centurion falls over, and we lost!

Pulled over 650 damage that match, although I can't say I've pulled something like that off since. Not in my spider anyway.

a few weeks ago (dont recall exactly when) I was dropping in my Hunchback 4SP, (Two SRM 6, four small lasers and a medium) I ended up going one on one with an ECM commando, trade a few laser shots with him as we get into a classic circle straiff. After a few revolutions i get my lead on him just right and hit him with both SRM6's and POOF! No more commando, I walked away with four or five component destructions and a satisfying crunch of the kill.

Don't know that I have a specific favorite moment, but in general making a kill just before being killed yoursef and somehow narrowly avoiding death...doesn't happen that often, but when it does it is so satisfying

2xAC20 used to flatten a Spider.
Any light mech will do, but for some reason Spiders are more annoying than even a Raven 3L

Definitely when an ECM-raven overheated and shut down, giving me ample time to come to a stop, line up the shot, and disintegrate his 'mech with four SRM6s, two MPL, and two LL.

Or the time I clipped an ECM-raven's leg with said large lasers and blew it off, giving me time to wreck his day with SRMs :)

They aren't instant win buttons, people. They blow up just like everything else, just gotta lead them a little more.

heh..i had a nice fight today...after playing for last days only a spider i got used to the speed and maneuverability of it and the idea of beeing always on the move. I got a game with 4fps bug, after noticing my team i left, i wanted to play...so I got my dragon. The next map was river night...we engaged on the water, all my team was there when i noticed that some enemy were keeping back raining lrms and lasers from far, under ecm cover....since it was a pug none of my lights in my team seems to notice it and take initiative to go there to harrass them so i decide to go. The dragon is fast enough, i split and engage those lrm, taking some damage while crossing all the battlefield...expecting to find at least an atlas ddc with ecm there....my surprise was that i have found 2 ddc atlases..well shait i said...no going back now. I engage, in full speed..my gauss hits the right torso of the closses atlass, followed by an strike of 4 mpulse..twice. I am now in the left side of the first atlas...I turn to the second in my right...hit him with a gauss and one salvo of my 4mpls...the first atlass was targeting me..i circle the second one taking cover, the first atlass spams with lrms without target in my direction, misses, shoots some lasers and hits his team mate, I am not passed the second atlass, I hit the first one again with my gauss, follosed by pulses...his right torso was critical..another pulse salvo...and he is one torso and right arm less...leaving him with only with lrms and one laser...i circle him now to take cover from the second one who was shooting at me with lrms from 150m lasers and some ac5 i think, my hull was yelling critical damage all over by now, I thought..it will be a close one if no one comes to help..my gauss makes its warcry heard again, spitting venom on the second atlass, pulse lasers dancing all over atlass torso...keep calm, someone will come, a voice was shouting in my head...run for cover..there are 2 atlass there killing you another voice was yelling at me. I turn another time around the second atlass, I take the first one in my sight, I pray not to miss and fire an alpha..BAM ! his mighty chassis crumblesin the muddy water...one left, no time to party, my dragon takes punishment again from the enemy still standing....I pray again to hold just a little more, just one more salvo...WHEN from far some lasers hit the second atlas...my team was coming...they managed to finish the rest of enemy team and some hunchie was running to us....I fire an alpha again, gauss misses, lasers hit somewhere, by now the atlass was taking damage from many of my team...he's dead...we win...my heart was pumping crazy, i notices how tensed were my hands, in those 3 minutes i didn't know anything that happened around me, I was there, in the battle, doing the best I could. This is truly MECHWARRIOR ! this is what I want to be, for this it's worth all our efforts to help pgi succeed.

p.s. and i thanks the little spider for the perspective it gave me, without him probably i wouldnt have won that encounter :)

Forest Colony in my Atlas D-DC. I showed up in time to help a teammate, Seth Scott, get his second kill, then he is taken out shortly thereafter, leaving just me to take on 6. I thought about letting myself get killed, but said screw it and went to cap the base. I managed to take down the other 5 'Mechs, then it came down to me and a Raven 3L. I was out of Streaks, no Gauss ammo, and I just had PPCs, so I figured I'd get whittled down. We went back and forth for a few minutes, but I finally managed to get the killing blow.

Another fun one was in a Centurion. I had no arms and was missing a leg, but I managed to take down a Hunchback and another Centurion.

Just now on River City my PUG started at 6 v 8, and then a player disconnected. I was tempted to disconnect too.

"Good odds for a Spartan," one of my teammates said.

So I stayed in. We moved to the backside of the high building that juts out into the harbor, and by good fortune the enemies streamed in 1 or 2 at a time. Focused fire chewed them up and they'd run away, but by then the next one would be coming though.

So there we are in our little Thermopylae, and all I'm rocking is an ECM spider. Their team has three, but between TAG and counter-ECM my teammates are able to take them down.

I got all the opportunistic kills -- an all-red weaponless hunchback fled to try to cap our base. An all-red weaponless stalker tried to wander out to sea to die. A one-legged spider overheated. I can just imagine the rest of my team going nuts, working like little bad-***** to pull this one out, and then me swooping in to take the kill. Sorry guys! You were mighty and honorable!

Then at the end I got the final kill, as the last Spider ran off and I chased it, ending up with us engaged in a circle duel trying to out-guess each other's lag shields. After about a minute I managed to cut through to his XL engine and he went down.

Very fun time.

Did a kill a couple of matches ago, Caustic valley. There's a 4x with dual Gauss popping up F7, I have dual gauss too, I'm at D5. I shoot it once on the RT, he withdraws in cover.

As soon as he starts to pop out I already count and lay down another salvo that exactly gets him in the same torso, which wears off the remaining armor. He then pops out for a last time, already moving backwards, I shoot the third salvo calculating his withdraw back to cover saying "lets see if he was mounting an XL".

He did.

The rest of his mech was clean..

Quite disgraceful to say that my most satisfying kill was a teamkill.

I was in a Catapult C4 which had 2 SRM6 and 2 LRM15. Some ally in a medium mech (can't remember what kind) shot an AC/20 at my back right after spawn and as a retaliation, and to show how pissed off I was that my back was now fully red, I quickly turned around, fired 1 srm6 round at him (approx 12 damage), and continued walking.

Turns out because of artemis they all hit his cockpit at exactly the same spot and killed him instantly. The rest of my team turned around and exclaimed simultaneously "LOL".

I'm mostly playing in a stalker theses days so missiles and lasers are bread and butter when it comes down to kills, Now this time i run maybe my 3rd match in a SDR-5K so i know the quad MG's are just there to annoy people with the sounds of bullets hitting heavy armor...

conquest i manage to run an cap the opening base of the enemy team in forest colony so we have 3 bases on our side and head out for epsilon. As i run there i see an atlas DDC finishing off a cataphract from my team, as the info shows up i see the Atlas head is cherry red. line up the 4 mg's and finish him off within 1.5 seconds of shooting mg's, run to help teamates and get surrounded by 2 jenners and a raven. so i start jumping above hills to give me cover, as i jump i lose a leg and miscalculate my jj's so i have no fuel for the land. ended up blowing my other leg off, denying the kill to the following light pack. i have never laughed out as much due to two kills in the same match shame i was my second kill

8 headshot Alpha Strikes (longest at 600+) in a PUG match with my Founders Atlas(back before they widened the point of impact for ERPPCs/Gauss and fixed some of the head hitboxes... it's not as good as it sounds. Except for the Gausscat at over 600m.. that was awesome).

That and a Streakcat following me off a bridge and blowing out his damaged legs... not really my kill but hahaha you dirty streak cat
