There's little reason why they shouldn't put melee into the game. Cryengine absolutely supports melee attacks. C'mon PGI! I want to stuff my dragon-foot into people's cockpits!

With the current state of the netcode, melee attack wouldn't hit 90% of the time. If they can't get knock down to work correctly yet, they won't be able to get melee to work right either.

True.

It'd be like trying axe people in Quakeworld Team Fortress (Quake 1) on dialup. Anyone remember that?

I do.

Very cool. I'll take both now please.

Do you, by chance, own an Ipad and Ipad mini?

Sweet! Look closely at Fang in the video. The right arm does not turn left or right. That means it can hold an AC/20 in the right arm. Its stuck in the forward position like the Centurion 's AC/20.

Hmm flame seems interesting, as I can finally have a coaxial cannon and use another energy arm.. guess this will be mine, although I want to see the exact number of hardpoints.

Looks also like they won't go with XLs, they probably are just endo-steeled with the usual 300 std.. I already own and love 1N and 1C, I'm looking forward for at least one of them.

Flame's complete overhaul of the hardpoints will really mix things up, but Fang looks like it could just be a 1C or 1N with a paint job.

If only they had gone with a full red paint job on one and a full blue one on the other. Perhaps a fire and ice scheme.

BTW, can you change the name of hero mechs when you buy them or will these be stuck being "FLAME" and "FANG" in mechbays forever?

Nice looking Mechs. The high five at the end of the video was quite cool.

You can with the current Hero mechs, I don't see why this would be any different.

You can change them. I been naming my mechs after ancient soldier types. My YLW is named "Hoplite" and my Catapract is named "Legionary".

Quake 1 on dial-up. We had a term for that. We used to call it "Drunk on Ice" because your character couldn't walk a straight line if you tried. LOL

Don't get me wrong, Melee would be cool (makes me wish the game had an Axeman), but It just won't work. Plus I don't think PGI wants it in the game anyway.

very cool (and man, their graphics look much nicer in night vision than mine).

BUT.. anyone else disappointed that with the Twins they STILL have not addressed the lack of the Grand Dragon variant?

OK, cool vid, but I'm not seeing any real differences other than the 30%. I want a Dragon, so that's probably enough for me, but still the weapons capability is the question.

What can they do?

(Also the painting isn't that attractive.) It'll do, but it's not anything that draws me.
