Doesn't jiggle but the CH combat stick has served me well. My current one is almost 10 years old and still feels as tight as the day I got it.

I also miss those old MS sticks, but the Logitech 3Ds are basically the same. The springs are a bit stiffer, but they have the rudder twist. That's the most important part, right? Works on 64 bit Win 7. 12 buttons + throttle.

Not bad, but I prefer my Saitek X41.

I would prefer the other joystick, but then again you have to feed it, listen to it nag at you playing MWO, take it out to dinner, remember your anniversary, etc. Actually I think I'd rather get the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro now..

I picked up a Thrustmaster T-flight HOTAS X for fifty bucks on amazon, only cheap HOTAS that works with Windows 7 and had extremely good reviews.

I was planning to bring my Saitech X52 out of retirement as it was last used playing MW4 Mercs.

I worry about the precision problems around the centre may be unmanageable for precision shooting. But over sensitivity can lead to jittering.

With the new generation sticks using hall effect to monitor movements, there may be better reliability and precision than the old X52.

Guess I will have to start saving for a new stick if I find my old faithful is too far gone since its last major outing playing a mech game.

The X52 has great sensors. But, the position of the magnets is awful. If you aren't afraid of opening it up, you can do a non permanent mod to fix that up:

http://www.warishell...d-less-deadzone

I did the magnet mod first and it helped but it was jittery around the center due to some slop. Increasing the spring tension slightly cleared it up.

I use a Saitek Cyborg 3D gold, and it has served me well so far.

Saitek X52 definitely. I used to have a Logitec Wingman joystick from the dinosaur age that i absolutely loved, but sadly it no longer works. Bang for buck though The X52 is the best out there.

This belongs in Hardware and needs to be merged with the already huge joystick thread.

Is it because the input lag from the mech compared to your input?

It is unlikely that a joystick will help you aim better, but it might help you pilot better.

I presently won't be using a joystick because i don't own one. However I plan on buying one soon. Once I have it I'll glad say what it is. Because I don't know presently. D:

I'm using a pair of sidewinder pros for mw4 using joytokey to emulate a keyboard on the left stick. Took a bit of monkey work to get it setup just right but works very well. Having a right handed stick in your left hand is a bit akward at first but you get use to it fairly quickly.

Have you tried getting something else, like PPJoy or vJoy to work so your second stick would be analog?

Check out the Wiki page on the MW:LL wiki, I just finished updating it, If I should add anything else, let me know.

I'll be using a Medion MD85637 graphics pad... :)

More seriously, I'll be using the good ol' Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I've been using Logitech joysticks since Freespace, and they haven't failed me yet (except for my previous one, which stopped being so useful since it didn't have USB support)

I would love to use a joystick for this game for the pure feel of driving a mech, but i am worried about precise aiming using said joystick especially on the move and with the deadzone
