I would like "someone" to make a singleplayer, Co-op game.

I would like PGI to stay focused, and bring that "someone"'s content in later.

Basically I have recently replayed alot of my single player mechwarrior titles and feel the mechs would be balanced pretty good for a single player. In MW3 and 4 I'd drop mechs quickly with lancemate help. IN MWO the mechs last longer than they would in the other titles. This will make the 1 on 1 duels better and funner because it would take longer to drop that mech. They have to because you are going against 12 players who would and still will core you in 2 secs.

Do I want a single player game? Yes

Do I want PGI to do it? Maybe not. Get this game right first

I want a MW5 stand alone and will pay and support any other developers but PGI to do it. And the reasons why should be pretty obvious.

As the great philosopher Jagger once said, 'You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, that you get what you need. <_<

Lets get the online game working with a strong community and a robust product first. Lets do one thing and one thing well at a time. Then once its going smoothly for sure go nuts.

I agree with Laconicus. But...and this is one huuuuuuge but.

But i want them to do something nobody else has done with a Battletech game.

Make a simulator. Where you use your mouse to click on all the buttons in the cockpit to do all the techy stuff you normally do on the keyboard.
Want to go passive sensors? 2-3 buttons have to be pushed to do that.

Want to eject some ammo if your close to overheating to the point that everything could go BOOM?
Find the button representing the ammo bin you wish to empty. Flip open the safety toggle and push the button.
The loading hatch opens and the ammo to spills out.

Want to target a new enemy? 1 button at least has to be pushed.

But controls for general movement is done on the keyboard and you aim by holding in the right mousebutton or something.

If you have played any of the DCS simulators you know the excitement when you powerup your machine.

Think my idea is too much. Go take a look at a DCS simulator video on Youtube and your jaw will drop.

Hope they have the resources to do this some day! It would be awesome as a 4-man coop campaign.

I remember there being a tight c-bill crunch in some parts of MechWarrior 2: Mercs...it would be fun to have to deliberate between your friends about who's mech gets fixed for the next match, who's been firing LRMs too willy nilly on missions, etc. xD

This game already has good visuals and good music...a campaign would just need to create a standard battletech storyline but find ways to have players experience tons of cinematic moments.

As stated before they still have a ton of work to do on the current game no need to distract them with side projects they are understaffed as is.

Greetings all,

Bryan has mentioned that they are planning at/working on linking together missions that carry over in a similar fashion. What you bring to the area of conflict is what you have, each missions leads into the next.

- If you have support elements you can be repaired, resupplied.
- If you win the battle you progress to the next phase,
~ if not, you may have to try again, but with less or different resources.

All part of the Front and Planetary battle system.

Missions would change depending on if you are attacking or defending,
- If your unit is garrisoned or transported to the location.
- If your here as part of a contract and what the contract objectives are.
- If you have a starting base of operations (Drop Ship) or were hot dropped into battle.

But the overall objective of this multiple or continuous mission mode is to keep a Company together and have an objective they must work towards. Not exactly a full blown all game Campaign, but a group of mini campaigns that change and adapt the Inner Sphere as you play them.

Nah bro. Singleplayer gets boring after 1 playthrough.

Did you ever play Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries? It didn't imo.

Hell the **** yes! PGI is missing out on a goldmine if they integrated a singleplayer experience with the possibility of multiplayer lances going out on a campaign that they could continually add to.

To call it mechwarrior online and make a PVE experience would make them tons of money and open them up to a whole new crowd with the PVE experience being kind of an advanced training simulation for PVP where PVP is the ultimate goal anyway for players.

Knowing what I now know of Star Citizen, that approach applied to Mechwarrior would be EPIC!!!

However, I still love this game too.

The problem is this game is unfinished and has yet to get back the many former supporters who are still waiting for this game to be done before they come back. To have a successful kick starter you need to have either have to have 0 track record but a fantastic idea or a proven track like Chris Roberts (which is why Star Citizen is so successful) but having a unfinished game does not lead to the confidence that is needed to have a successful kick starter .

Let them finish this game, get back former supporters, then they can look at expanding the universe/work load

I voted no, but I would be all for it if they added it as an expansion pack for $40-$60 and used the profits to support further development of the PvP side of the game.

Yes, a single player campaign was always my favorite part of the MW games as it gave you a chance to enjoy a story and sharpen your skills against an AI opponent.

I think it would be a good idea to release mission packs for mc that you can play with a lance of friends. Weve never really had a coop MW game and it would be awesome to do missions with actual lances controlled by players or even huge missions with a company of mechs.

I think they could incorporate this idea and even single player as part of the existing game. We could have MWO as it is but, also have the option to run solo, lance and company PvE style missions. I think that option could do a lot for the lore and the idea of a the MechWarrior Universe. The idea of units defending convoys and outpost as well as attacking them and such adds more to the universe and the story line.

As much as I want this, we should probably wait until they actually finish making the multiplayer.

PGI took our funds and made MW Tactics instead.

Considering the issues with MWO, I wouldn't trust them with what would be MW5, and in any case they failed to get the funding for it before. I don't believe that situation would change.

If you think of the direction they're heading, they don't need a single player campaign because CW will effectively feel just like one. Especially if your playing with a teamed up lance in VOIP or forming your own merc company. That would feel like a very open-ended and intense campaign.
