If anyone, for one second thinks that just because they have read every single Novel or Tech manual, or played every single Mech game out there, that it entitles them to belittle or mistreat what they consider "PUBS" invading their territory, they will be surpised (even though they shouldn't) at what will be "put up" with, and what won't after the game launches... So have fun now..
.
A "PUB" to the MechWarrior community will most likely "NOT" stick around (let alone spend any money) if he or she gets told he's "trolling" for asking questions like, "where is the Madcat", and then told "bye, and good riddance"... I can see the whole argument now about all the "Free 2 Play" parasites, as I have seen them called, but the whole idea is for them to have fun, spend a little cash on upgrades, and "CONTINUE" to do so. This game was made to make money, "NOT" to cater/pander to a few elitists..
.
Some people don't want any newcomers in "THEIR THING", and I understand why, (I didn't say I agree), but that isn't constructive, it's the exact opposite...
.
This "GAME" is made for a couple fo reasons, but the most important to "Piranha" is, get ready for it... MONEY, they are a business, and businesses exist for one reason and one only, to be successful, and to do that, they have to turn a profit, one big enough that will justify continued support for producing or supporting a certain product..
When it comes to MechWarrior/BattleTech, do you really think what amounts to a "niche" market is what the game devs are hoping to pull into MWO, no, they want as many paying customers as possible buying as many upgrades as possible.. There is nothing to keep the MechWarrior community from slipping "back" into relative obscurity in the gaming world.
.
So tell me again what product survives without the support of the "public"..??
