No, it means one team got a random Raid Boss and the enemy was bewildered.

LOL>>....so what bro? look at the rest of the people you played with..mostly terribads. Its like some of the responses youve received on this post.....people clueless enough that they failed to get the entire point.
Keep on patting yourself on the back and thinking a 36 points alpha at 450 is "good"..

and yes, my build has more than "just" 4xLL.
my other point was that people keep blaming their teams for their poor performance in MWO. if you are continually doing poorly in matches, it's not your team, it's you.
improve your aim, improve your tactics, improve your understanding of the battlefield. oh, and don't look in vassago's cockpit, i hear it's got a sauna with lots of naked men in there comparing e-penises (just for vassago, one more screen cap of me losing horribly so he can feel better about himself and his centurion)
personally, i think i do just fine with my xl. most of the time i'm one of the last people standing, and the tradeoff in survivability is offset by the increased speed and guns i can lug around. overall it makes the game more fun for me than the ability to be a zombie-mech.

Yeah, there's a right and a wrong way to build a mech.
For instance, you don't put an XL engine in the stalker, because it loses the sides well before the center.
You should do 8 manz in your glorious XL stalkers, mediums, and dragons.

Which makes more sense.
Heck, of my 3 stalkers only 1 runs a standard engine, since the other 2 are long-range builds.
BTW, my 3F brawler is 4x LargeLasers, 2x ASRM4s, and 83/85 tons used (Standard 300).

If you want to do XL stuff, I would think the AS-7 RS would be the better choice. IMHO the small CT of the Stalker is one of its best qualities - and it goes to waste with a XL.
But tbh. people are so bad most of the time, one can have good success with fun setups. No need to minmax everything.

No.
There is a right and wrong way to build a mech. Your build is inferior.
This is just like the trash double LBX-10 Atlases that people used to make. They thought that they were amazing, when it reality it could not have possibly been any worse without swapping to machineguns and flamers.

Me suppose you can start by going up against decent players.
Try pulling the same off against a premade while you be a solo pub player with 2 trial mechs on your side.
Or when you has two players who do absolutely nothing on your side:

the qualifier is "if the pilot can use it effectively"
if the pilot cannot use dual lbx10s effectively then yes, it's a pretty lousy build. but i wanted to see how much of the same "advice" would get flung at my thread. "XL SUCKS! 4xLL is too many! you're doing it wrong!"

Aye, the NoodleSoup has a point.
If a pilot can effectively use a wonky build....and CONSISTENTLY WIN against others with the "proper" builds.
Then obviously it be working for him/her & the rest of you guys be wrong and/or terrible.

Yeah, but you certainly didnt say so.... your post made it sound like ALL your using was 4 LLs.
If you have 4+ SRM6s to back that up well.............why post? Tons and tons of stalker builds use mutiple large lasers.
My 3F even occasionally uses 6 Large lasers and 20 double sinks, 1.04. I use it to take peoples cockpits out. Totally viable, usually mid damage in the charts, but its all delivered to critical areas.

No, it means the player in question is better than the competiion, which isn't tied at all to your build.
He should take the same build to the 8 manz.
