Terrible. The 'whiners' are 'whining' not because premades shouldn't be allowed, but because the matchmaking is nonexistent. There is one giant pool that just randomly throws anyone together regardless of if its their first time playing, using trial mechs, are veteran soloers, have crap loadouts, afk, bots, suiciders, or highly organized teams sync dropping. Do you think its fair that someone in a trial mech who doesn't know how to target with 'R' or group his weapons is paired up with 3 other people who may also have trial mechs against a skilled group (or 2) of 4 on Teamspeak? No, its not. Its horrific that someone who has just downloaded this game and started using a trial mech and barely has any chance to practice is getting streamrolled by premades. If there is no practice drop area, then at least let them group up with other people of the same skill. But don't complain about those pointing out that they don't like being pug stomped.

How is this different from many other games? Battlefield 3, where you're thrown in with no upgrades, no unlocked weapons, no idea how to pilot or drive a tank, not knowing how to snipe/aim/toss nades, etc. Or Halo/COD- same thing.

And on those games, no one ******* that their opponents might be on teamspeak or knows what guns the people in his squad are using.

First person shooters tend to get more players than Mech games. They don't need to worry about how many new players get frustrated with getting roflstomped.

I am a very average player. I just know about stuff like focused fire, target calling, fitting as a team with strategy in mind, knowing and using terrain, coordinating movement, etc. and that ultimately makes
myself and whoever I'm with (it's a revolving door on c3, pugs on comms) win 80% of games played against quite-possibly-above-average players like yourself who, in their infinite wisdom, favour the 'fan out and die' approach. I'm sure your superior aim and piloting get an opportunity to showcase themselves as you tumble down the hillside like a smoking ragdoll with an ac20 shell or 10 sticking out of your *********, telling yourself how superior a player you are all the while....

Know that few things in life delight me half so much as making your sort taste defeat like an ***-flavoured cupcake.

This isn't about me or you really - it's about a system that is currently throwing a certain segment of the playerbase to the wolves for really no benefit to the game. Who is making out right now from the way the lack of mm is set up? Those of you doing premades without a doubt.

Heaven forbid we try to get as fair a system in place as possible, but I'm forgetting that obviously quite a few of you have no interest at all in a level playing field.

So let me ask you this...do you care if this game is around in a year from now? Or will you have moved on either way? You really come off as quite a ****, so it's kind of hard to tell if you really care if the game succeeds or not.

But then again, I'm pretty sure you are just trolling for the hell of it, so I won't expect any thoughtful response from you.

No really II don't care about a "certain segment" I care about the game I want. You can be all against virtual Darwinism, I can't be arsed.

So many founders defending the poor match making and PUG stomping. Shame. I would have thought the founders who invested in this game would care more about its longevity.

Keep on defending your easy mode and continue to look like the team stacking idiots that you are.

I've never defended the MM, its crap. However, there are ways to deal with it. So use them.

'pugging' is, by definition, something that runs contrary to the game's design.

Merz,

Just one question; do you suppose the bean counters and the executives who ultimately make the decisions agree with that statement and don't want the people who drop in to casually pug a bit to play and give them money?

I drop in casual groups about 20% of my MW:O game time. The other 80% of the time I cannot due to one reason or another.

Bottom line? There needs to be a fair and balanced queue for those of us who cannot group up or coordinate ALL the time. Got it?

The people defending pugstomping really don't give a crap about the state of the game, just look at the arse posting all over this page - his posts tell you all you need to know about his maturity/mental level.

Actually, I'm pretty sure he's just a **** that likes to troll.

Can't believe this hasn't been locked yet, the mods must be watching football.

i'm sure they do want those people. i'm sure they also want league people and the sort of folks who kept mech4 community going for decades. you know, the 35-50 year old BT fans that buy founders packs, pay for hero mechs and will form the core of the game's community and funding source. I'm also sure that the bean counters weren't designing this game, and aren't the primary force behind its existence.

nor will they ever be. this is a game by the fans for the fans. COD crowd will whine a bit and move on to whatever pastures. this is, you know, not the most casual of games and trying to fill every single niche is a waste of time these days. at least the developers know who their market truly is, and it probably isn't the guys crying about team play being too much :effort: They can get solaris or dueling arenas or whatever the hell. Top priority for the developers, apparently reinforced by what they've said even regarding community warfare, is making sure matches don't fail to drop for lack of people... this supersedes any further divisions of playerbase, as waiting times and failed drops would only become more of an issue.

hmm..you're being dropped in a team, you're..already grouped up. if you cannot coordinate, the problem is essentially yours. granted, the game doesn't offer much in the way of tools to help those randomly dropped with one anther maintain some cohesion, but those rejecting team play outright have only themselves to blame. here's a new bottom line for you from an old eve vet: adapt or die. how's that for fair and balanced?

The amount of arrogance that you exude is appalling.

Thank you for investing in this game and making it possible. Shame on you for defending its inevitable downfall.

The trick is to not rise to the bait.

The bit you are missing is that, just the same as PuGs, there are varying levels of 'pre-mades'. There is no need to separate the players, it is fairly easy to negate the VoIP advantage if you are prepared to work with what you have. VoIP only really helps in the initial contact, after that it becomes less important as shooting skills and watching which target is the most important.

This game is a team game, and people will always try to make the most of any advantage. Stomping is not fun, games are much better when there are two fairly equal teams. ELO will help with this.

Oh well.

I don't care, the money for the founders, all of the hero mechs and a few more MC for grins doesn't mean much to me. The game stops being amusing I'm gone.

I have about $300 into this experiment. How about you?

I asked this before and never got an answer, but it can't possibly be those "35-40 year olds" who are loyal bt fans... who are 4 man dropping and pub farming this community into the ground? Really?

Someone please, tell me it isn't so...
