What kind of hippie psychology is this? If your work is consistently flawed and you show no progress whatsoever to correcting it (in fact, you make it worse and worse CONSISTENTLY) you do not nor should you not get praise for not screwing up something else.

It's real world logic for real world corporate situations. You think that by complaining more loudly it can increase someone's efficiency? You think work that takes 6 months can magically be done in 1 month through customer complaints?

Just because you want to rant and rage doesn't mean that you're right and your BS argument that by doing nothing but criticizing will get you progress is sorely misplaced.

If you (and all the others that share your view) aren't having fun and are concerned with PGI's direction, perhaps you should leave the game (and forums) completely, that's a much larger impact on PGI's outlook than by posting hate threads on the forum. Or perhaps, by the fact that you (and everyone else by extension) are still here, you are actually having fun (either trolling the forums or int he game) and do not want to leave? The funny thing is I already know it is the latter, because the loudest arguments and the biggest criticizers here are obviously enjoying some aspect of the game (ie. trolling or playing) too much to leave. Both mean that people are enjoying the game first and foremost and that should be appreciated and praised, not just looking for "the next big thing" that you don't like about the game.

PGI puts so little effort in this game that it is at the brink of being a scam.

Sad thing is:
They have little talent AND bad work ethic. And that's not harsh, just an obervation of what they've done so far.

I said the same thing in another thread essentially. It really seems like another "autopilot" DEV team is now responsible for it. You know, the ones that are capable enough to add skins and cockpit art.

But that's not what people are expecting. We just expect PGI to deliver on their promised dates, but they constantly fail. Best example again: the new map.

Or when did we hear the last time about community warfare?

Right, because the lagshield, which is the number one complaint by far, is entirely because we are entitled TT players (false assumptions are false, I've never touched TT).

Oh you mean that thing they've mentioned repeatedly and have attempted to address numerous times? The thing that in this patch has a tentative date for repair?

The thing you all just never stop bitching about, no matter what, because it's fun to whine? Yeah, that thing. The thing that makes you sound like entitled seniors who don't understand even the smallest part of what it takes to create a networked game on the backend.

This is the kind of trash that betrays an absolute lack of understanding of what goes into the development of software products. This is exactly the kind of mentality that drive developers away from their community. A community that doesn't even know enough to realize it's commenting on something it doesn't know anything about.

Something to remember.. It takes a gaming company months to program many things..

It takes an entitled gamer/forumer mere minutes to b**ch about the gaming company.

They have had ample time to address some of the more prominent issues the community has. But they haven't so they deserve the rage that they're getting. Go drink some more PGI kool-aid.

Sadly, it would not be the first time that community backlash ruined a game. Even more sadly, it wouldn't be the last were it to happen here. I don't think we're close to that point yet.

Everyone who wants to post some sort of over the top "OMG THIS IS BROKEN AND UNBALANCED FIX IT NAO OR I WILL LEAVE" thread would do well to remember what happened when the Planetside 1 community demanded fixes for the Lasher and SOE decided that splash damage should make a distinction between friend and foe, and only damage foes.

Just saying.

Since when has PGI EVER added something they promised to add on time? They constantly give us dates and push them back. The netcode post is just a bunch of vague crap. The netcode has been an issue since CLOSED BETA. 7 months is more than enough time to tackle an issue that drives a lot of new players away. There is no training or anything, so a new pilot shoots a light mech and sees no damage, they either think the game is really laggy or the light pilot is cheating, and after 4 games of that crap they'll leave. Most of us understand the minor issues of weapon heat and game balance. ECM and NETCODE get the attention because 1. ECM was obviously not tested in QA enough (the artemis LRM debacle proves their QA is not very good) 2. The netcode issue has been around since the game went in to open beta. From what the dev posts seem to say, the netcode is not their number one issue, when they should have every available programmer tackling this extremely major issue to the game.

If I am wrong about that, then the devs need to CLEARLY STATE exactly what is wrong with the netcode, and how they are going to fix it. Basic generalities consisting of "we're looking in to it" are not going to cut it.

personnally i m waiting a thousand of map!
A map univers with 1 billions of planet to control
A map earth for attack and control the planet.

Stole ressources,
Build factory for make weapon and mech with advanced research
build building for defend with wall and tower.
Build units of ground, like soldier and tank

All that with a big tchat, for contact other player and join a clan...

A part of solo game with mission and other part for pvp, like a morph...

Personnally, i have stopped to play at video game, because since 1995 i play to the same game!
That start with wolfeinstein 3d for me... and now 5 battelfied, call of duty, warhammer 40 000, transformer and like 50% of game we can found in shop....

You are on map and just kill or capture point !

Seriouly...

Mechwarrior is one of my favorit univers... so make us a TRUE game...

Not a copy/cut from others games... that so boring to play at the same game since 20 years...

I also remember the game crashing every time I minimized.
Then I remember the game crashing if I was minimized when a match ended.
I remember Catapult doors floating in space.
I remember the constant CryEngine error.
I remember not being able to close the game because it would crash on exit.
I remember weapons and missiles going through dropships and buildings.
I remember getting stuck floating in space from walking on the catwalk in River City.

And there are many others they've fixed.. but nobody likes to talk about that.. it's not as fun as B**ching and moaning like some exasperated ******* on the moral high ground above the personnel manufacturing the game...

Real life isn't all gold stars for refraining from farting in the middle of class like first grade.

Business is business, and doing business poorly will incur resentment from customers.

Could customers be less personally insulting? Sure. But there's still problems to address.

I never received bonuses, money, or grades based on "trying". It's always based on success. What is unrealistic about not paying money until you see a product you like? Should we always make "pity purchases" because people "tried"?

Another quick update on where we stand with the netcode roadmap. As outlined last time the first phase for the netcode was work to cleanup and solidify the basic movement code for Mechs. This work is complete and is already being phased into production, all initial work related to the movement code should be in by the end of January.

Internally work has already started on the next, harder, yet much anticipated phase which is to implement correct ‘State Re-winding’ for those not familiar with the term State Re-winding means that when you shoot at a Mech rather than check the shot against the Mechs current hit box location we rewind the Mechs state to the time in the past when the shot was fired and check the shot against the hit box position at that time.

We anticipate having this running in internal testing in a few weeks’ time, and then obviously it will be dependent on testing the time beyond that to get it onto production. We know that for some of you the lag shield issue can’t be resolved soon enough especially with the new Spider Mech hitting production today. We share your desire to see this issue resolved and wanted to re-assure the community that it remains one of our highest priorities and we’re excited to get this work wrapped up and available to the community.

They're also not nearly as large and complex as the netcode.. (since the netcode is involved in everything you do after clicking launch...)

EDIT: I am not a White Knight.. I have my criticisms as well.

However, the different between me and the underwhelming LOUD minority of these forums is that I choose to voice my criticisms objectively instead of:
Insulting the company
Preaching doom of the Title
Theorizing a conspiracy regarding PGI/IGP.

Please- do tell me ONE, JUST ONE benefit of insulting PGI? C'mon.. just ONE.
One single benefit...

All the game breaking problems such as black screen, yellow screen, missing map, low FPS should have been fixed before CB ended. They weren't.

Catapult doors are a graphical glitch and nothing more. So is the invisible bridge on River City.

People still DC before the game loads. In fact most of the issues that I mentioned were NEW issues that their patches introduced.

Came back today for 5 matches and I'm still not impressed. Back to Skyrim or some other game.

The game has more fundamental design problems such as random matchmaking and not doing BT justice by giving a sense of scale of the battles that we/I read about. That and craptastic "Conquest" mode which really can't be legitimately called Conquest without respawns.

Read that again. It really doesn't say anything. It's just a bunch of business oriented mumbo jumbo to save face. Where is a set date? Why not say "We have chosen to push back the release of the spider due to community concerns." Give us a percentage of completion *netcode issues are about 70% done at this point, we have some final polishing and testing before pushing them out. No instead they give us a real general 3 paragraphs saying the same stuff they have said since closed beta.
