For the love of god. It's ridiculous. GET NOTHING FOR IT. NO CBILLS. It promotes running away and not fighting. We have a CAP based mode already with Conquest. Take the CAP game out of Assault and turn it into TDM. It's stupid ridiculous. Get no money for it. Obviously taking money out of the equation for a base cap has not changed the mentality. Take the WIN XP out of it too.

Then you have only one way of winning and it's just deathmatch. Deathmatch is utterly boring for a lot of people. While it's arguable that there should be a deathmatch option available, I don't think taking caps out of assault is the way to do that.

If you want TDM, play Conquest. Let people who don't want to just play TDM all day long stay in Assault

How to prevent the base rush and cap: Don't go far from your base and learn to turn around.

They ought to just change the objective from capture to destroy. It would make things a lot more interesting (tactics, not, "We're losing; lets cap"), logical (because standing next to someone's house for a while totally makes it yours), and it'd prevent one or two lights capping out the match. And it would focus the game more on objectives. Woah.

What Bill said. Conquest is already a CAPTURE based gametype. Don't need this one to have that.

If they were to take capture out of assault.. I can't say I wouldn't troll the winning team by running off and powering down if I'm the last guy.. (and taking a minibreak) so I can keep their mechs locked for the whole 15 minutes...

Foresight is a good thing.

Not a good enough solution I believe. Instead, increase the cap points/c-bills so it's commensurate with just fighting it out so capping becomes a worthwhile concept as opposed to a cheap, inefficient, cheesy and less than satisfying win.

And add a third mode, a TDM style that MANY of us would embrace. That would appeal to a much broader demographic of players (having both ideas implemented).

If you want to fight, defend your base. How hard is that? Defend your base defend your base defend your base! If you want to fight set up a perimiter and fight the enemy as they come to cap! It is the absolute stupidest argument I have ever heard. The enemy is capping my base PGI... Make em stop!

Lukoi, You sir have a good suggestion. Everyone wanting an end to capping... Just stupid!

with the introduction of conquest and the removal of all but 50 exp reward for a cap in assault it makes no sense to still have it as an option other then to force an opponent to go where you want them. As it stands people that cap in assault just care about the cheap easy win which I do not get. if your here to fight then fight if you want cap points go play conquest it is what they put it in for.

I agree a DM style mode is needed but not TDM just DM and then they can give us back the ability to make groups of 5,6, and 7 because pure pug players would have a mode to play and would not have to worry about premades.

Capping needs to have a bigger award associated with it because it's pretty much worthless now. However, having the cap victory option there drives positioning in games. Teams still have to react to something sitting on their base, protect it, etc.

Otherwise games become cat and mouse exercises with some ******* powered down in a corner of the map after his team is dead.

Put a single cap point in the center. The team that caps it first (or the team that can hold it long enough to get 750 points) wins. Best of luck trying to cap it without having to wipe out the other team first.

The name itself is bit misleading. Assault usually means that one side is assaulting while the other side defends.

This is more like "pitched battle" or "meeting engagement".

TDM has objectives? look... click... bang... lol... win, that's what it's coming too. that's tactics and objectives now... no wonder this game's going down the gurggler so fast.

As if The various houses are in the habit of throwing 'mechs into a fight just for the heck of it? Shouldn't there be some reason that we're all blasting each other to bits?

That said, if people want a simple Deathmatch, whatever. let them do that. Personally though, this game needs more maps and more game modes. Why not make base capping (and defense) more important in Assault mode? I liked the idea of having one point for people to fight over, but even better would be to have two points and the winning team must control both. This would encourage the use of lances which is common in universe.

you don't know half the whingers who can't defend a base and whinge even more if you decide to take advantage of their stupidity. people just want hollywood in mechs, thinking about what tactic can win a match is well beyond them. it's a game but winning means nothing??? then there's no game is there!

this is the player base we have, the more killing more cbilling horrar crowd. stratagy is op and needs to die that's how they want it.
