5 hours of play last night and not a single name repeated that wasn't on my team. I'm not implying a thing. Nothing will fulfill a doom prophesy faster than little whiners crying wolf on the net. But go ahead try fixing the game on public forums. I got my $s worth out of the game.

Really Cause I did and all I got was repeats,

Hell I've got about 300 gigs of video of Kong and Vass desperately trying to find matches.

I'll do actual feedback to the devs the day they start showing signs they're willing to listen for real.

Same.

Early Closed Beta I tried to offer feedback, Here we are now fighting the things that I and others provided feedback about in hopes to avoid.

In fairness, there is a lot of moaning and groaning about pretty much every single decision they make on these forums. I was thinking about that the other day. I mean, it seems that for many people that PGI can never do anything right.

Now, I'm not brown-nosing for PGI because honestly, I have been sorely disappointed by this game. I also feel that they need to be grown-ups about this. The facts are that their game is going to succeed or fail based off people's opinions about it and we're posting them here on the forums. If they don't like what we're saying, maybe that is a sign they need to change direction.

Yeah, I'm sure we're not always very understanding of the challenges they face, but that's life and that's business. Wal-Mart I'm sure faces many challenges to run their business, but would any of us accept them QQing about it? Of course not.

So overall, two things. 1 - I think it would be good if we tried to turn down the rancor some and were more polite in delivering criticism. 2 - I think they may have to own to the fact that they botched this. It happens sometimes, people intend to make a great game but don't succeed.

Now, to elaborate on my point 2 there and wrap up. I think PGI probably should have gone the route of Hawken and had closed beta events rather then this long continuous closed beta which led to an open beta. It just has given us all too much time to complain and stew and be upset that the issues we want to see fixed haven't been addressed. They also, should not have gone open beta yet, which I think just about everyone on the forum told them not to do. Clearly the game isn't ready for primetime, it has a lot of work left to do and in today's day and age people expect a more complete product from an open beta. Looking around at other games that are in open beta, most are in a far more "complete" state then MWO. That's my opinions on the subject at least.

For the TL;DR - People should be more polite when delivering their criticism but if the OP is right about the PGI team, they need to man up and handle criticism like adults.

This is why I've succumb to exchanging insults.

One guy told me missiles got a damage buff because of spread.

When I asked him why LBX10 didn't get a buff then he went silent.

i am just a regular user/player with a lot of forums experience and some experience as game mod on another online game.

What can i tell for sure is that these forums are not enough moderated, they allow too much, it is a chaos regarding the topics. As it is now it's a nightmare for a mod, not to mention a dev who probably checks around once a day (if..). I have a lot of internet time and i am reading these forums a lot but it is impossible to pick the constructive and good topics from the bad ones.

devs do not need to be actively responding on the forums to ppl questions - this is not their job - PGI needs to have one or 2 representatives to do the talking and be middlemans for dev and users.

I am offering some of my time to help moderating the forums if needed. But I must warn that will be painfull at the beggining :)

Not really, to any of that.
I just picked the constructive and good out of what many would call an obvious whine thread, and we're now having an actual discussion.

If you can't do that, then you have no business being a mod, or an admin.

A: It's hard not to have it affect one at all; generally it just makes people around the office less likely to read over the forums. I still do though, and for every negative/unrealistic expection filled post, there are dozens of PM's, emails, and threads that are the opposite. Also, we're dealing with long-time fans of a very old IP, so we expect people to be passionate. If I could have any one thing though, it would be the understanding that: A) we're barely a year into development, and :) the poor guys are usually here till 10-11pm, so the 'you're just lazy' posts are unnecessary and flat out wrong. Is this what the OP was talking about b/c I read that and I do not see them saying they ignore the forums completely. As long as someone is reading the forums, that seems fine by me. You can't expect their whole team to be reading the forums, they have jobs to do.

Your logic, it baffles me.

(Boiled Down): We've made the devs not want to hear our bitchy comments while they develop our favorite IP! The solution is to slander the game on public venues and kill future revenue for our game! Then those damned lazy spiteful devs will learn their lesson!

(Server shuts down)

They're doing what they can (different teams work on different things.. you can't throw an artist at netcode) , just because they won't talk to your whiny bratty *** doesn't mean they're not.. it just means they don't want to engage with the Obtuse.

Should they stop all other development being done by other teams and departments until those bugs are fixed?

Honestly I agree. It would be nice if things like the 4fps bug and netcode were fixed already. I have not had they yellow screen bug in a while but I hear some people still get it. But because there are bugs is no reason to stop adding new content in areas that are not broken. There is more than one development team at PGI. They don't all fix bugs.

The comparisons to bioware are many and old as sin, but still as true to this day as when they were first made.

So they label it Open Beta, but admit that they don't listen to feedback?

Sounds legit.

That is the proof that this is a Beta only by its name. Community Warfare, abandon all hope.

And that only inflames the problem. In the absence of communication or a sense that yes, somebody at least noticed this thing everyone's complaining about, people get bitter, arguments get increasingly bitter, and the conspiracy theories start up.

way too put it. one could also say, that u nerdraged pretty hard, asked, why only missile weapons got buffed over the TT values and got ur answer ("no random hits for direct fire weapons, but pinpoint accuracy, so no buffs for them, but for missiles"), could not comprehend it and raged some more. some posts later u realized ur [REDACTED] and your whole comeback was like "SO WHY DIDNT LBX10 GOT BUFFED ****?!?!!"
you should not even try to compare urself to vassago. he may be trolling, but he never looks like a tantrum throwing *****. u do.
