You don't like e_ShadowsPoolSize and e_TerrainTextureStreamingPoolItemsNum any more? ;)

Leaving the Shadows one at 2048 and increasing the Terrain one to 2048 (from 256) works for me.

I also changed e_TerrainDetailMaterialsViewDistZ to 256 (from 128). Don't really know why -- I have no idea what it does. lol

Didn't these three work? I see you totally removed them:

r_TexturesStreamPoolSize = 512
r_Sharpening = 0
r_ChromaticAberration = 1.5

i didnt notice much graphical improvement and it did have some stability issues. the last one i posted gives great graphics and has onnly hardlocked once in 40 battles of testing.

This user.cfg for high-end rigs is maxed for graphics quality and has given me 100 matches without a single crash to date since the HUD fix & Memory leak bug fixes from PGI the last 2 weeks.

I used this and it totally narfed my perfectly tuned mouse settings

How do I undo that.. removing the settings from the file did not undo it

The speed is extremely very very slow now... I had it lower than most people before but now it is unusable unless I change my DPI and other **** and that's very annoying

Edit: TAKE MOUSE SETTINGS CHANGES OUT OF THIS ENTIRELY!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?

Did they turn off user.cfg again with this patch? No matter what I am doing I can't get it to use the settings.

Dear user, please correct your tone, Panda is doing great work for the community for free, you have no grounds to whine like a petulant child and make demands.

The mouse changes have been part of the circulated user.cfg files since, practically forever. If you actually took the 12 seconds it took to write your complaint you could've figured out how to tweak things to your liking, the instructions are pretty clear.

Current high end user.cfg file. removed mouse settings since those are now included in game options. FOV default is 75 if you prefer the stock FOV. use 85 on 1080p widescreens it looks great.

Otherwise pretty standard stuff in here, terrain shadows are turned on, vegetation detail is maxed as is laser and beam detail, cloudes, flares, etc.

this runs a rock solid 50-60 FPS on a 3570K 16GB RAM, SSD and HD 7870

Colonel, if you really want to make this useful, recommend you track the default values for each item you're tweaking. So, for example, if "v_vehicle_quality = 2" is the default and you want to use "v_vehicle_quality = 4," write:

"v_vehicle_quality = 4 --default is 2"

Or something similar.

Hey Colonel

Question on the AA part of your read me file

"ANTI-ALIASING
to clean up any jaggy edges with an ATI/NVIDIA card set MSAA to 1 in attributes.xml
and in CCC set AA to enhance application settings, edge detect, adaptive multisampling or supersampling (your choice) and keep morpholical filtering off (causes text view/crispness issues)
add r_UseEdgeAA = 1 to user.cfg (anywhere you want)"

Could you please elaborate of this further for me? How do i add this to my Attributes.XML file?

Like so? : <Attr value="1"name="MSAA"/> ? (and im guessing i need an XML editor to do this as notepad seems to mess it up?

I have added the " r_UseEdgeAA = 1" But wondered if i could get better AA results still..

Also is there anyway to turn SLi support on? (I'm guessing not)

@ fuzzylogic - the defaults are in the archive http://terrantitans.com/mwo-user-cfg PGI default low/med/high/ultrahigh user.cfg's are in there to compare yourself

@sgtflex - AA isnt working properly in mwo right now. I'll update the settings in a few patches when AA is working again. for now just turn postAA on in options with custom user.cfg might work, you can try overriding with CC but that doesnt work for me right now.

Is it just me or do the Ultra high detail makes MWO look very "murky" and "blurry"??? Referring to the screenshot from Col.Vinson.

For this reason I switched all the advanced details to LOW (or OFF) and only left object texture and environment is very high.

MWO is one game where having a high end PC can cause the game look murky, out of focus and blurry - enough of this - switch everything to LOW it gets back into focus and get on with MWO'ing!

yeah the ultra high DoF effects/film grain & blur still do, hence posting this shot here, if you use my ultra high config you get the same top end graphics without the fuzz.

this one. Sweetfx has been removed from the download at www.terrantitans.com/mwo-user-cfg due to TOS violations. the legal package is now complete and available for low-ultra-high settings from this download.

Spoiler

EDIT: the screenshots posted above do not contain sweetfx changes, only the ultra high user.cfg settings.

I'm getting a strange effect with motion blur, when I rotate the mech in the mechlab it looks as if it's vibrating and gives it a blurred effect that's very odd. Is there a way to fix this or a way to turn the motion blur off completely?

I get this on the current build with any settings in mechlab. ingame everything is fine though. known issue.

change depth of field to 1 with current ultra high config can improve fidelity a little without causing the blur dof 2 does. Quite enjoying it setup like this actually. DoF 2 is too fuzzy for my liking.
