About Ready To Give Up

I was never this bad in MW4, but I can hardly hit anything. I've seen ravens get hammered and take little damage, they disappear and reappear, slide across the screen...Spiders take no damage and move faster than my mouse can track. I've gotten absolutely no xp for any match I've played in. The matchmaking system pits 6 Atlases and 2 heavies against 6 mediums and a couple of heavies., lag shield from hell on lights, ECM makes an Atlas invisible when it's 10 feet away. I had one match where i sat and didn't move and 45 seconds later I was surrounded by 6 opposing Atlases and Cats, how in the hell could Assaults move that fast?!!
My PC is well up to the task of this game, although my ping is not that great, but there is some serious stuff going wrong here.
I'm not sure I want to boot this game ever again.

>Fast
Wat
Lagshield is a known issue. Learn to compensate for it. The devs are working on fixing it.
Not picked up on radar doesn't mean invisible. They explode same as everything else. Pay attention and help your team, rather than standing off by yourself to keep from getting surrounded by "ninja" Atlases.
You just need more practice, boss.

Light for a Light (20-35tons)
Medium for a Medium (40-55tons)
Heavy for a Heavy (60-75tons)
Assault for a Assault (80-100tons)
In the 8man Group you only drop VS other 8 Man Groups (No Weight Class Matching) AKA
8 Commandos Could end up fighting 8 Atlas'es

No XP is a lie. You get XP even if you lose.
If one team has 6 assault mechs and 2 heavy mechs then the other team will have 6 assault and 2 heavy mechs too.
Lagshield is a pain, yes.
If you can't see an ECM Atlas from 10 feet away you have a serious problem with your eyes.
Atlas can move with ~65kph. Why would you do nothing for 45 seconds?

Sounds like you just have no concept of what's going on in game.
Perhaps try being more observant about your surroundings?

Sorry but this is entirely not true.
This is the way it SHOULD work, but it doesn't. It seems like the matchmaker often can't handle the fact 4 premade guys are dropping with the same mech.
I have played quite a few solo games with my atlas and 1 stalker beeing the only assault mech on our team, while the enemy team had as many as SIX assault mechs, 4 of them being atlas ddc. (They said they are premade after i asked them)
Obviously the matchmaker only balanced the two "pug" assault mechs, while it failed to balance the 4 premade ddcs.
On the other hand, i have played quite a few matches with 6 light mechs on my team, while the enemy team only had 1-3.
The matchmaker simply screws things up atm.

I witness this behaviour too, sometimes. Matchmaker screwup.....

You can see your XP in the mech tree of the pilot lab correct? Well mine says zero XP. After quite a few drops with my Hunchback. (the after battle screen says I get xp, but none shows in the lab)
When I talk about an invisible Atlas, I mean the fact that a 100 ton 3 story tall robot can not be seen on sensors or heard by ears. How is that at all realistic? it's ridiculous that something that size and weight could not be sensed just because it's on the other side of a building and has ECM. Hell! it would show on a seismometer!
As for standing still for 45 seconds: I was guarding the base(at the very beginning of the match), turning back and forth scanning for targets and suddenly I was kicked to desktop and when I got back to the game I'm SURROUNDED on all sides by Assault mechs. There is no way those mechs could have moved that fast unless something was seriously wrong. Netcode, server problem whatever.
There are apparently no physics being calculated for this game either because it would be outright impossible for a light to circle as fast as they do in MWO. Any land based humanoid form machine with the mass of those mechs would fall over.
I dare you to go outside and run at top speed in a circle only about 15 feet across. You'd have to lean into the turn so much your feet would slide out from under you. Try it in a car or on a motorcycle, see just how small a circle you can drive at 130 mph.
I know this is Beta, but there are way too many problems going on. I'll wait for it to be finished.

I don't know, man. Lag shields were pretty bad in MW4, too. I occasionally had to lag shoot against Daishis in that game. Though lag was a two way street in that one, assaults had trouble hitting lights, but then a light would die to a full alpha strike that came right from the assault's rear end.

You sound like you came into this game expecting to be a pro....this isn't MicrosoftWarrior 4.
Keep trying, and try to play with a group using voice chat.

Have you opened the Mechtree down to the variants of each Mech?
If you did not pilot a Trial Mech you should have made XP.
ECM is called Jesus Box for a reason and the game is still very beta in this case - help PGI to balance it better.
Atlasses can speed up to ~63kph afaik so they can approach you quite fast.
The physics are best suited for a fantasy game and do not very much follow real world limitations atm - again help PGI to make it better and give them feedback about hat.

Well said. I think the best thing PGI could do for the brand now is to just fold.
They have proven there is a market for Battletech games and Mechwarrior games, now just roll over so that others can pick up the property and do something worth while with it.
