Stat Wipe According To Devs.

That said, I'm also happy to get a chance to earn a "cleaner" more accurate set of stats.
When I first started playing again after closed beta, I didn't care about my K/DR...at all. I piloted recklessly because there wasn't a proper training ground that I could use to find a mech that fit my play style comfortably. I racked up dozens of deaths and a mere smattering of kills just looking for the perfect fit. My K/DR was abysmal at 0.39 or something horrible like that.
Anyway...long story short; I made a lot of mistakes along the way and I've learned from them. And all the balancing changes and a wonky PUG matchmaking system didn't help much.
Even though my kills will probably far exceed my deaths by time they wipe the stats (averaging 1 or 2 kills per death these days), it'll be nice to be able to start fresh with a chance to get even better stats....with fewer deaths. And not for anyone's else sake but my own.

Oh, please.

They were clearly referring to the wipes of mechs, xp and such that they apparently did several times in CB.
I can't help but feel that anyone who has a real problem with this has stats that they doing something they won't be able to repeat later, once balancing is better and the exploits are fixed....

Or maybe they had free time now that they spent playing and won't have as much time to acquire those stats later? I don't really care about my KDR, but it'll be a bit disappointing to lose ~4,500 kills, 3,000+ matches, and 2,000+ wins.
As I said earlier, it's not the end of the world, but I think there are better ways to go about it (like I also posted earlier):
"It would make more sense to keep track of stats on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly basis, and then having 'lifetime' stats as well.
I'm not sure why it makes sense to erase stats when it should be more than feasible to simply start tracking stats for achievements when said achievements are introduced, or again the same thing when phase 3 is introduced."

1) Average XP should be calculated without +100/300 XP for Loss/Win and of course without all premium, hero mech etc bonuses. And we need to incorporate damage in it. Maybe via adding XP for damage. Then we can see clearly what our team value is.
2) K/D ratio should be replaced by rating R=((Kill+Loss)/(Death+Win)). This way those suffering from **** teammates won't be so much inferior to roflstomping premades players with 10:1 Win/Loss ratio. It's not an ideal formula - but i think it's better than what we have.

Hopefully they will park your final pre-ELO/achievements score somewhere warm and friendly in your profile for you to glance at any time your feeling low, but as clearly needed be happy to begin afresh with a matchmaking system in place.

With the implementation of the ELO rating the game will lose a lot of its fun. Right now you can just log in and press launch without worries and be in the battle 5 secs later. No hard feeling for loss. Just imagine the ammounts of rage spilling from those who whine about pugs, ECM, ravens, gausscats, streakcats etc. right now.

Look at stats the way baseball players are tracked.
i would like some continuous statistics available such as:
Avg dmg per match overall
Avg dmg per match: Lights
Avg dmg per match: Meds
Avg dmg per match: Heavies
Avg dmg per match: Assaults
Assists last match
Assists accumulated since "X" some datebenchmark
Avg assists per match by mech weight as above.
Spotting assists accumulative
Spotting assists avg per match
Basically, anything experience can be earned doing would be wonderful to see a stat sheet on my performance. A report card excellent for guild applications, bragging amongst friends and generally watching improvements and degradation of pilot skill over time. I would be happy with a simple count of number of assists, number of hits scored, perhaps critical damage point capture as well to see where something special could be discovered.
And definitely a record of friendly fire damage dealt along with a record of team kills. !! Imagine, an actual method to determine the ethics of a pilot !! OMG
Having some experience in statistics, I like lots of numbers.

1) They don't need to wipe our stats in order to implement achievements. They could simply start the achievements from whatever point each person is at when they add them into the game.
2) They've said repeatedly that there will be no more wipes. Yet another broken promise.
3) While I won't have any trouble getting a better KDR than I have now, I doubt I'll have as much free time once this happens as I've had since Open Beta started. I will have a difficult time getting my totals back to their current point, nevermind the fact that my current total should be included in whatever I manage to get back to.
Bad idea, PGI. Way to **** off your customers again.

Thats why I actvated my premium and why I played alot when beta went open.
Maybe I should wait untill this game is out of "beta" before spending anymore $
Besides, that $30 Atlas K Im selling for a mechbay pretty much broke my bank for a long time.

There are no more DATA wipes. Your character, your XP, your 'mechs, your CBills, your purchased items will still be there. (Although to be fair, I know I'm not as easily parted with my MC now as I will be when the game actually goes live)
A stat wipe/reset is meaningless at this juncture, and frankly it should be expected. We're still in beta. We have entire systems not yet in place. We're playing a game without all the parts, and the parts we have aren't even tuned yet. Our stats don't mean anything right now, and honestly they shouldn't until this game is out of beta and the systems are more concrete. It also only makes sense to reset the stats after they've built an achievement system so everyone can start on the same page instead of picking a point in the game when they didn't have the systems tuned (or even in place), and not everyone has experienced the game in the same state.

I'm really NOT in favour of a stat reset because it erases a couple months of my hard work. But I can live with it I guess, in the interests of helping new players.
However I don't see the point if PGI isn't going to change anything regarding dropping premade teams (of any size) among solo players. We'll just end up back with the same "skewed" stats over time, where people who never drop alone have vastly superior stats to those who do, regardless of skill.
PGI, don't reset the stats if you're not prepared to put a Solo only mode.
In fact, you should provide entirely separate stats for Solo-only, 2-4 man group and 8-man group.

You are assuming my time and $ is meaningless, time and $ I spent playing to earn among other things, future achievments... as from what I understood there would be no more resets.
