Anyone here play Eve Online?

I played it a long time ago at launch but never renewed my account after the first month. The I received like a 14 day trial and gave it a go again maybe 3 years later, and again did not renew. Then this past February I was given a 21 day trial starting from scratch and did not renew.

So here I am again, but after very much enjoying the game the last trial and I didn't renew (because I was taking care of my cancer stricken father) I logged on to steam tonight to see they have a sale going "30 days for $6.99" so I says "Hell yes" I purchased and got my CD key, went to the Eve site and logged into my trial account and was able to upgrade my account to Full Account with 30 days of play time.

Well worth it if anyone is interested and has played Eve.

If you'd like a 21 day trial just send me a message and I'll send you an invite. :D

Lots of mech nerds are spaceship nerds, this forum is full of EVE people. (I'm one of them).

I used to play off and on. I ended up joining several 0.0 corps after being in highsec and shooting rocks too long. My theory was, get your skills up, save money and shoot rocks for a living. It was boring, but cheap. I ended up getting several skills up and doing better-than-average on the battlefield. So I decide it's time to join a 0.0 corp. I find one on the recruitment channel and my downward spiral began.

I joined one that failed and continued to join different ones that failed. At this point, every one of the corps I joined looked at my employment and suspected me of being a spy. All I really wanted was to just get some pvp going after shooting rocks all day. So I eventually find one and liquidate my wealth, train in what they want me to, and get some pvp action going. This ends up just shooting TCUs. Way more boring than rocks. Eventually, RED decides they like our space and moves in. I end up going back to Hisec and shoot rocks again to build some kind of wealth up.

That's what the game has boiled down to for me. Shooting rocks. Again.

For those who haven't played, this is what the game is like:

For those who have played: I was there, with Shadoo.

Hi-Sec mining and trade. I enjoy doing it.

Hope to have as much fun here as well.

I recently sold my main that I had since 08 that was able to fly quite a few ships.
If you want to, look him up on eveboard.com I think it is.
Rone2 was its name.
I now have two accounts that I am supplying with time bought with plexes from the sale.
Roccao and Roccano, add them if you want, one is amarr and one is caldari, training both for PvP and PvE

You do realise that you're talking about a MMO game that outlasts WoW and will be aroiund here way longer after WoW shuts down...

The game's unique and not very action friendly, but that doesn't make it a bad game. ;)

I was hoping that MWO would be formatted similarly to Eve online. Or, I would love a merger of the two! A whole new type of MMO, where space, and dirt coexist in one bad *** MMO

It has its amazing moments, especially if your in an alliance with goonswarm, using their fitting for their Alpha Maelstroms.
I once almost got ten to fifteen kills in a single engagement before my fleet window started messing up the target broadcasts.

Been playing eve online since 2008 (Trinity), 4 years in nullsec, first as an IAC pilot, then as a TCF buddy, and then as a RA ally untill RA failed to defend insmother (which we outlasted defending compared to what they did which was basically ran away).. now I'm taking a break, hoping to come back soon™ to the game, and in the meantime playing other stuff ;)

Founder of Narwhals Ate My Duck, wh merc alliance. Recently I've given up heavy responsibility in Eve because I know I'm going to be here once I can get myself into a mech. Just need to find a decent group of folks to fight with here.

Quitting EVE was harder than quitting smoking. I miss it... but that's why I'm here. The game was ok, the community around it was the "fix" and the stories were epic tales and every corp had them. My first battleship tackle with a rookie frig.. My first Hulk kill... First time with T2 Large guns and on and on. I miss the stories, more than combat or the tech tree or the gear or droll mining (did everyone drink while mining?). "Remember when..." sums up the experience, whether 5 Minutes or 5 years have gone by.

Getting into EVE was excruciating, getting out of it gave me withdrawals.

EVE takes time. 30 days is nothing. It was 18 month trial, I guess, I'll might go back, for I was in CEI, which controls rzr.

EVE still the best, true MMO out there, right after UO.

WoW wasn't expecting such amounts of responses from people already playing. I feel like a flea in comparison lol.
