I like the new Startup! ;)

Though is makes me aware that the Coolingsuit is ugly low res.

I rarely post, but I need to stand up and say GOOD JOB to the dev team on this. The stratup sequence is just a nice animation added and took some imagination to come up with IMHO. All you could do is sit there and watch the countdown before anyway, so now they added a little "bling" (can I still say that?lol) during a time you could do nothing anyway.

Remember this is BETA. This is an ever evolving game that will have good and bad changes in people's opinions. There is no way to make everyone happy. Overall the changes make sense and will make for better game play. Example is when using night vision, your interior cockpit shows your own heat signature. At first I thought it was distracting but the more I used it, the better I found it to monitor your own heat! I don't always look at my heat bar when nose to nose with an enemy and would shut down without realizing I was that close. Now it is right in your face and gives you a heads up that your heat is changing. I would say it saved me in a couple of games from shutting down as much.

Be helpful in your feedback. Don't "threaten" that you will stop playing if they don't make a change just for you. Give them something constructive to consider if possible and just enjoy the game! We can all basically play for free if we want to and help them evolve the game into something more.

Ummm.... Wouldn't it negate the startup sequence to have the engines humming before hand? Just a thought. ;)

They are as a whole, good addition.
On some mechs they are really good and on some they are a little less... but still, a helluva lot nicer looking that than numbers rolling by.

Legs of the pilot are a little funny looking on couple mechs I tried and seemed like I remember on one animation Betty being a little to quick to acknowledge powerup of some systems... but I guess I gotta work through more of them and have a second look.
Anyhow, I like 'em.

Hate the new sequence.I don't need another distraction in the cockpit, especially when I'm being shot at and overheating.Who's dumb idea was it to waste time on something like that?Is there a command in the config sys that will turn it off? By the way...Mech pilots STAND in there cockpits.

i liked the engine hum also, actually, the idle is engine music.. its not a hum.. ANyways since you hit us with logic, I t would be nice to hear the ambient weather.. wind.. whatnot... That takes it one step further.

I could do only few matches, but be sure tomorrow I'll try each of my chassis to look at the new start up animations.

Different people are working on different things. They released some movement code fixes. The distance to lead weapons in front of a light is now very even on every light I've shot, whether it's a 3L or a snail-moving Spider carrying an LB-10x. More coming in a couple of weeks.

Animations are handled by very different people. Just like 3-D meshes are handled by another set of people. Maps by another set. The list goes on.

That said, onward to the feedback!

I'm just glad they finally had this, I've been saying since June that we should have a power up during the count-down. We finally have it. Even better, WE GOT RID OF THE OVER-THE-SHOULDER-BUTTON which was probably going to be a single-animation-ends-all power up key. Glad it's gone! I HATED that button as it always went through my head on my catapult. Checked all 28 of my 'Mechs, that thing is GONE! YAY!

Also: Animation is different for every Chassis. Quick power-up from an Atlas looks like a fist-pump if you just catch it off-hand while switching in spectator. It was like Atlas killed Catapult. Atlas Overheat-shut-downs. Left arm raises, FIST PUMP OF EPICNESS, Mech boots back up.

This also saves me some of the trouble of overlaying some Mech pilot animations over my future videos. Still gonna do it anyway, because sometimes having the occasional body rocking and hand gestures is fun for a video. Plus, it solves a college assignment. Yay gaming industry!

Loving the new pilot animations. Makes things feel just that little bit more polished.

One negative that it does point out though, is how rough the model detail is for the pilot himself. His legs look kind of sharp.

Worse, previously you couldn't look at the map before a match started which was lame -- now you can't even look at the minimap

Except you couldn't do any of those things during the countdown. Maybe you could look at your weapons and decide how you were gonna group them, but you couldn't actually use the controls at all.

That's the stupidest part of this gripe though. "It takes the controls away from me!" YOU COULDN'T GORRAM LOOK AROUND BEFORE ANYWAY! ITS THE SAME FRIGGIN TEN SECONDS WASTED YOU STUPID TWATS, IT JUST HAS AN ANIMATION NOW.

Betty is a little... sluggish. That's my only gripe about it.

I have not had much positive to comment on in the last month, so this absolutely made my day when I saw this. This might seem like a silly little improvement, but it really makes MWO look more polished. It is way better to watch this than a silly count down.
