Just to give a head up, the game will freeze every second or third match. The game was otherwise very stable before Tuesday. I am not sure why given that Tuesday was server maintenance and not a patch. This only happens in game and within the early stages of the match. This is not a crash or a complete lockup of my computer but rather the game just stops responding without error or warning and the last sounds playing will keep looping.

My Nvidia driver version is 310.70

and my system specs are:

Spoiler

I use this computer intensively in 3D modeling and animation and experience trouble nowhere else.

Right guys, since it's all highend systems mostly running medium settings getting the "freeze" lockup it might have something to do with a very high framerate.

I limited my fps to 45 by using a user.cfg entry. (if you dont have a user.cfg file you can create one with notepad, place it in the mwo dir)

sys_MaxFPS = 45

I've played quite a few games without freezing now, it doesn't prove anything yet, but so far so good. turning on vsync with a 60hz monitor might do the trick too. You guys running with or without?

I will give it a try. I normally average around 70-90FPS so I will see if forcibly limiting the framerate has any effect.

EDIT: It does indeed work, at least as far as I can tell however all of the environmental textures on the ice maps do not load.

Client is crashing too frequently to enjoy any gameplay at all. Premium time being wasted against my will because I can't play without having the game freezing. No dump files are generated by the crash, there are no messages or warnings. The game simply freezes and the sound loops until you force the game to quit via task manager.
I have done meticulous uninstall/reinstall 4 times now to no avail. I have tried lowering settings, changing window mode, anything suggested so far to no avail.

I ran DXdiag and below are the results:

The game is wasting my premium time, help!!!

Limited your fps. Just try it, mate. It should work for you.

But i still think it was a shame that the solution was not initially given by an official staff.

As of yet(3 games) no freezes but then again the game isn't respecting this option. I have put it on 60, enabled vsync ingame and it still jumps to 90+. Even forcing vsync in the nvidia controlpanel and enabling Adaptive(half refresh rate)(i run a 120Hz monitor) only works at the start of a match. After the startup sequence the fps jumps back to the 100's with the occasional dip to 60/59. But if it works anyways I'll be happy ;)

Ill post an update if I still get any game freeze today.

*update the game only respects the vsync when you alt-tab out of the game and back. When I did this it jumped back to 60.

I enabled vsync in game menu and played several rounds. So far no freeze for me, hope this will really solve our problem, have an eye on it. My gray flickering texture problem in frozen city is gone too, lol. Thx for that hint Flapdrol.

I tried the high end settigs... it did not work for me. If medium, high or low, it freezes very often.

By now, i restart the client after every match, no crash so far.

Not yet, cause i use a CRT monitor.

Well, what i've discovered too is: On caustic valley, the game sometimes has a kind of a hickup, hard to describe. If i rotate my mech, fps are fine. At on point, it's falling down to 5-8 fps, than back up to 50-90 fps.

I use a CRT as well, run it at 85 so I limited fps to 45 so I dont see the tearing.

go to or create a file called user.cfg with notepad and place it in the mwo directory.

put this in
sys_MaxFPS = 45

that'll limit fps.

Tried my new ctf-2x on Caustic and the game frooze. :) And i hoped the vsync option worked after several matches without a problem including my cplt-c1 and heavy lrm fighting between our and the enemy team.

Think i give it a try, with vsync the frames were jumping between 59-62 without the are above 80.

If this really works, it's the 1st time i've ever heard about fast PCs do crash instead of slow ones...

addendum:
It's not perfect, bot only 1 freeze out of 10 games now. Before the fps restriction, it was 6-8 out of 10.

It really works! Thank you, Flapdrol. :) No freeze since 2 hours.

Ever since the patch, I've been randomly crashing out to the main screen or out of the game. I've tried a full reinstall, clearing the cache folders, updating all drivers, running on minimum settings.

I am not getting any crash dump files in my USER folder.
