The Catapult is still one of the most favored mechs in the game.

I'm thinking its advantages already surpass its drawbacks...

nope... it´s a good mech, but you don´t see it more often than atlas, hunchback, cataphract and several others... (and i mean all catapults, not the A1)

it´s the same as with the gaussapult a while back... it was considered OP, everybody tried, most failed and tried the next "OP" build..and failed again...same with the A1... a few pilots are very dangerous with it, but most of the many who try its "OPness" now fail with it and try something else...

The hitbox doesn't need to be as tiny as the atlas (which is an easy shot from above btw), but a little reduction in size would be nice.

Catapult has an intended role and if you stray from it you should be punished in a few ways at least. Really, no offence meant, but we're not omni, yet. You can't expect any mech to be perfect in any role. That's be boring, too! Imho. ;)

I think I've seen you in game twice.. (and if you're assumptions were based on how you see me play.. then you would've known I don't use catapults to brawl..so how did you come by this information again?)

Yes, it does have an intended role- just like the Awesome.. who did have his head hotbox reduced.

Actually, the Catapult's cockpit hitbox is not its full cockpit window...It is the upper 1/3....maybe 1/4 of it. If you hit it in the bottom pain of glass the lowest point on the visible cockpit you only hit CT....If it really was as big as you think it is the Catapult would be 100 percent useless

No, it already has a massive torso twist and can use XL with minimal consequences. And it doesn't matter how or what YOU use it for, just because you don't boat SRM doesn't mean others don't.

Whenever I get faced with any brawler built catapult, the only way I can kill it before it kills me, is to use its one actual weakness.

To aim for it's head, because if I can't kill it fast enough, a good A1 Pilot can easily one shot a medium chassis and under, without aiming for my head.

A1/K2 needs ECM, smaller cockpit hitbox and 0.5t jumpjets.

I would like to see all the head hitboxes actually match the cockpit of the mech :/ some mechs are near impossible to hit unless you get just the right angle no matter where you shoot the actual visible cockpit.

the head hit box is the weak point on the cat.
I would not agree to make it much smaller, just a tiny bit.
People don't realize how easy it is the headshot a cat.

best part is people who do will die trying to get one ;)

etc..etc..etc.. (if variants of other chassis are allowed to boat and keep good hitboxes..why are all Cats punished for the A1?)

I would like that too.. if mech sizes were proportional.

Human sizes don't change much.. but somehow the cockpits have extreme differences in size.. (and non of them look all that spacious, except maybe the awesome)

Sorry OP, the Catapult needs to have weaknesses to offset its incredible strengths. A big head is one of those weaknesses.

As far as cockpits, the Spider cockpit looks as small and frail as the ride it's in. Looks like you could boot out a panel with your feet like a rusted out old Beetle floorboard.

It's easier to hit a Catapult's huge cockpit than its center torso. Only a Streak Cat can avoid getting head-shotted. Doubt the devs will do anything about it though, at least not until they want to sell a hero Catapult.

You must be playing on a different server than the rest of us. Where we play, it's virtually guaranteed that you have at least 2 catapults, and often more, every match.

So you adapt by asking for the devs to fix something that is getting you killed ? Interesting but please cry more it's fun watching a guy with a snarky signature do exactly what he's snarking about,

Awesome is same way.

I think the Catapult needs the same treatment.

(And no, I don't drive catapults a whole (and rarely get headshot) lot so this isn't a reactionary rant thread.)


They already shrunk down the hitbox for the Catapult, they are nowhere as bad as they use to be...
