meh, you can't catch it anyway, it moves as fast as everything we have left now that the mongoose is gone.

That's what I was thinking, Dal. At the range I'm at to it, it's speed, and my dude running as fast as he can after it, I'd have to be like Kai Allard lucky to even hit the thing. Damn I love that mech!

And Praetorian's and my LRMs. Sadly, I'm a bit busy today painting a Dervish to actually fire one...

You've obviously not met the Dervish before. :)

On the flip side, those are some tiny freaking srms. Each of those paddles manages to cram 100 missiles into it, along with actuators, power couplings, heat exchangers and the like.

nothing more i can do until you advance the plot. (unless you want me to make stuff up, such as what kind of light vehicles those are.)

I'm rather in the same boat; not much I can do until I find out what happened to the Chameleon.

Same boat, Chameleon is out of my range and there's no chance I can catch up to it. If you really want I could post a paragraph where Mr. Billy Bones weighs the odds of being able to catch up and land a shot that'd rival Kai-Allard-Liao's luck, but that's pretty much all he can do. Truthfully, I shouldn't have been able to land that shot on the Crusader.

Ehh screw it, I'll stay, cause I'm crazy enough to pilot a glass cannon. Will be getting post up soon *mumbles to self about how stupid the idea is, and how a glass cannon is gonna get us killed* Oi, who's still around Shade, cause I'm basically gonna say he stumbled, and ate sh*t, then just decided to wait for the firefight to end. He is now in fire support role unless we have a chance to slap on some armor.

I think Spokes is roughly 300-500 meters WNW of Shade's position.

I've been looking around on Sarna for repair vehicles, but I've had no luck. Is there such a thing?

EDIT: I ask because otherwise we'd need to assault a base to take repair facilities. Turning around would be counter productive.

You mean like mobil repair bays like in 'MechWarrior 3?' I don't think I've ever seen anything like that. That being said, I don't see there being any problem with a flatbed loaded down with armor and munitions driving on out to the field with a loader mech running escort.

Or you can have a flatbed/mech hauler come on out and pick up the Crusader and whatever scrap from the other mechs is around and take them back to base.

Edit: Grammar and had the wrong video game in mind. Good looking out on finding it GW.

The only thing I can think of, is an MFB, or Mobile Field Base. Basically a tracked vehicle that can deploy into a repair and rearm facility. That would allow for *albeit sh**ty* repairs, and reloads, but again they are gonna be crap at best.

Was about to suggest a MFB as well... then my research OCD kicked in and I remembered they dont exist until 3059 >.<

A loader mech with munitions might be viable, or if the boys at HQ deem it fit, they could always park a dropship near the front and have the lances re-arm and re-fit there.

I'll work on James's post when I can today and post hopefully within the next few hours. He'll be approaching Mist's position at speed.

Virgil is equipped as a mobile work platform, complete with lift cables and hook ups, cutting and welding equipment that can run off internal power, basic diagnostics, etc. You can use the cables and one of the legs as a field crane with a 5.5 ton lift limit. That covers reloads and armor nicely, though the 'Mech being serviced will almost certainly need to be lying flat. For future reference, the Scorpion needs three legs to balance and one leg to left, so if I blow a leg the lift function is lost.

Spokes has a good deal of experience with basic field repairs, though there are issues. The biggest one I can see is that you would normally have a repair crew running the hook ups and performing the repairs while Spokes operates the 'Mech. Not sure that we have that here, and it's dark, and we're not exactly in a safe place. The lift chains have to be pulled out and attached by hand, and there's no way to disconnect them from inside the cockpit. We'd need to have something wheel the ammo and armor plating out to us, though we could probably jury rig armor patches from downed enemy vehicles and 'Mechs.

A lot of the support side of BattleTech gets hand waved, and repair and salvage equipment is poorly described or omitted entirely. I have no idea what we're going to do with that Crusader.
